    Thank you for the video. Can you do another vid on phones and electronics devices. I have an old Xiaomi phone and Moto 5g and 1plus nord200 5g. Bought a cheap laptop at Walmart too. Will these phones work in Asia and is it as simple as putting in a local carrier sim and pay monthly plan? Some Philippines vids talk about $5-$10 sim with monthly service and you have to buy something called load?

    Glad I found your channel...Cambodia it is. Vietnam too difficult to retire and Korean rent is insane. Cambodia seems to be the easiest country to expat to.

      No. Technology is expensive in Asia. You are supposed to buy that stuff in Walmart before you leave the U.S.A. In 2019 I paid $330 for my laptop at Walmart, but when I went to Bangkok it was $1500 for a normal windows laptop.

    We just came back from Cambodia. We used “GRAB” very easy, convenient and fast. We ordered car (air conditioning) instead of open air tuk tuk. About 15 minutes ride, It costed us about $2.90. If you travel from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, Kampot or Sihanoukville, I highly recommend the bus company call “GIANT IBIS”. We went to Koh Rong from Phnom penh “about 190 kilometers. it costed $17 per person. It’s very cheap. The bus is very clean and air condition. The road is excellent “brand new expressway”.

    @tomtripsout, do you have to fet a local phone number or sim to use the passapp or grab?

    • @TomTripsOut
      @TomTripsOut  Před měsícem

      @@happyfriend789 I think they accept any phone number. So you need some sort of SIM card either from back home or a local one. They need it for verification

      I recently bought a used iPhone 13 mini for 400. They have a local brand here called Oppo- it’s much cheaper. There are phone shops everywhere. I dunno how much they are.
