I work a corporate job, dressed in a suit, well groomed, and Chase did the same to me. They tried to confiscate my check while stating that my check was fraudulent. I replied, " it's a chase check." They didn't want to verify it through the numbers at the bottom or call my employer's HR and CFO. I also showed them my employee badge, prior check stubs, and receipts from other visits. It wasn't until I stated I would call the police if they didn't return my check and take my business elsewhere. I called my HR and CFO myself and explained to them the situation; they called the branch, and the tellers and management believed them, not me. They didn't even apologize. #BankingWhileBrown #SMH

Terrible. You can't do anything with an apology anyway. It would not have been genuine. They meant to treat you that way. I had a similar hang up with Bank of America. Every month my husband would deposit $1200 via direct deposit vis DFAS to pay our mortgage. Every month they would freeze my account. Every month I would have to go to the bank and explain. I never understood it. There's no way they thought a direct deposit from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service was fraudulent. I finally closed the account. To this day, I can't stand them.
