Hey everyone coming at me for “looking bored” or “dead face”:
I teach full time and work another part time job.
The pandemic has taken it out of me too just like you.
We typically film after I’ve been up at least 12-14 hours.
I see colors a lot when I hear music and sometimes I look shut down but that’s because I’m trying to focus on the song and not the colors.
I have RBF and yeah I know it’s bad.
When I’m listening to what Henry is saying, I’m actually thinking a lot in my head and I’m not concerned as to what my face looks like.
I’m sitting next to Henry who is personality wise the complete opposite of me. (See that intro). Anyone would look dead next to him. Trust me. And that’s not an attack on him. Henry is genuinely one of my best friends and while I might not be bubbly like he is, I wouldn’t change that side of him.
If y’all are seriously so upset bout it, I will leave the channel so that my friend Umu isn’t losing views or getting negative feedback because of my face.

I have said many times before and will say many times again- film sessions with 10+ full time students/workers makes film times more restrictive, and once in a while, a film session will land on a day that we are unable to reschedule.

I really loved it on my first listen! Not even a midzy (just a casual fan) but the song was on repeat on my yt and spotify for like almost overnight. Then my excitement heightened even more because of the lyricism of the song. The acrostic poem section in the bridge was so genius!~ And the lyricism in the pre-chorus too. As a midzy I'm kinda used to the people said they didn't like the song in the first listen but it'll grow on them, I think it's itzy's unique since dalla2

This is so true. I know lots of other KPOP groups have this issue but it's especially worse with Itzy. But also I personally liked this song already at first listen. Not shy had to grow on me. I feel like their songs have different elements on them that some people can only relate a little to but then the more they listen, the more they appreciate the other parts that enhance the overall appeal of the song. While others already get that from the beginning.

Lia's voice in this was what made me feel more comfortable with the song, I think her voice fits perfectly with it. I'm still not fully into the song, but like with every Itzy song, if you don't fully understand it just vibe with the feeling until you find yourself singing it 😆
This is Lia's Era. The Pre-Chorus and the Bridge part. She stands out the most.
I've been a bit smug for the past week because a lot of my friends didn't like the song at first and didn't understand why I liked it but now it's growing on them

Also, as Henry vaguely touched on, this is their first real foray into dark concepts, so the timbre, instrumentation, and rap to vocals percentage changes are blatant and intense; coming off their previous releases, it's *so* jarring that I think people may have been disappointed that they didn't go for a more melodic sound. I'm glad people are warming up to it though b/c there is a severe lack of dark concept girl groups (imo, girl crush is not of the same vein) and companies willing to go rap/hip-hop centric with their gg releases. I'm down for more of THIS.
I really liked the song when I first listened to it so I was surprised people didn't like it considering it was right up with all the other similar styled releases from other groups
Tru, but for some people like me dont really like this kind of music, like some of those bp's most popular ones, because the music is weird (?) and doesn't really attach me much (even tho it will sometimes stuck in my head sometimes even if i don't like it, too much will kinda make me even dislike it more :P). So basically, if you like most of the bp's songs, then this is yours. Anyway, still the choreo is pretty good.
This is random, and no one asked, but while watching this I noticed the subtitles aren’t actually translating the Korean lyrics, it’s just the lyrics to the English version of the song 😂😂

I feel like In the Morning is a natural progression of Icy's b-side track Cherry. That song planted the seed of moving from "teen crush" to more of a girl crush concept, and I've been waiting for it ever since

Most of Itzy's B-sides are more leaning to trap/EDM. That includes Cherry, 24 hrs, Kidding Me, Ting ting ting, Shoot. They're all great!
I wasn't completely sold on this song upon first listening to it but I think it's because it's so different from all their other songs and the lack of "actual singing". I absolutely loved it on the second listen. I guess the initial shock wore off and I was able to enjoy it.

I can see why Midzy’s might not like the change of concept/sound. For me though this literally put me on the fandom. I listened to all their hits before and liked it but this concept with Ryujin is such a great combo

I love ITZY. They are one of my favorite groups. I love their music. They are so versatile. Their discography is diverse. Their dancing is phenomenal. Their rapping is dope. Their M/Vs are insane.
I liked the song from the first listen but thought it was like regular good? Like, it wasn't amazing but it's a good song. But then as the day went on, my brain just kept remembering parts of the song, so then I just HAD to listen to it again and again lol. Without going on how great the choreography is and how cool the video editing of the mv is, the song itself is definitely catchy, and the rhythms and beats are interesting enough despite being repetitive.
I agree with you, it's a good song but for me it felt a bit underwhelming for an itzy title track. I think it's because I'm used to their instrumentals being super heavy and this was the most uninteresting title track instrumental they've had yet. But it does stick in your head and the choreography is incredible as usual.

The space and streamline arrangement is what i like about this song and the whole album. The lower end heavy instrumental highlights the girls’s singing and rapping. It doesn’t sound very Korean but heavy with international appeal.
Itzy's songs always need time like you always say at first you don't like them and then they get stuck in your head. It's been like this since dalla dalla which for some reason I find it funny😭
What bothered me most was ryujin’s “catch me if you can haha”. It has nothing to do with ryujin rather whoever wrote the lyrics 😅edit: to elaborate, I don’t think that the lyric doesn’t fit contextually. I mean that the lyric doesn’t flow, imo. It just sounded out of place and could’ve been introduced better or the rhythm could’ve been changed and lyrics added to make it more cohesive.
It makes sense as a lyric (in the context of the song) but from a musical POV it sounded strange

I found it interesting the very first time I listened to it (especially the very beginning) because I wasn't expecting it from them. That being said I haven't replayed it to death like all their other title tracks. I saw some feedback about their voices not suiting the song, but I personally didn't notice that.
while watching this i realized the english subtitles are the exact lyrics from the english version of the song but that means they’re not actually translating the korean lyrics o_o i mean they’re very similar at places, but sometimes not so it’s kind of misleading for jyp to do that i feel /:

it’s really weird to me how so many people were/are so standoffish to this song. like i get it, it’s different but it really isn’t that jarring to me? like i feel other groups have done more crazy changes to their music than itzy. if anything i think this song is great, and it could spark a wave of darker concepts for gg’s that we don’t really get too often anymore.

It's just the Italy effect. I didn't particularly like the song at first, I was like "meh,ok" but I knew it was gonna grow on me. And it did. I love this song.
At first I was a little disappointed by the chorus, finding it a little empty, but what changed my mind was when I realised thanks to PD it's about Mafia the game and not about the mafia (gansta vibe) so all of the lyrics in link with the game so interesting. This and the choreo made me love the song.

Their musics are quite experimental. You can listen to You Make Me and Cherry and it'll not make sense for the first time listeners but then slowly it'll grow on you

the verses definitely took some time to get used to for me. especially yejis first verse and majority of the second verse, but it has its own colour and now i really like how they play around with the rhythms and sounds to differentiate the verses and chorus from each other
