Received the Navitiimer B 01 from my girlfriend just last week and I was blown away. By the watch and that she gave me a Breitling for my birthday. I've never had a Breitling before and I can't stop looking at it...so happy.
Absolutely fascinating video! His comments about the robustness of Seiko movements and the reason why a high-end movement is more expensive to service than a lower-end movement with the same complications were fascinating. His art is behind the desk with a watch, but you should definitely get him on camera as much as you can!
Hans should be on every week. The CZcams watch community is almost completely void of people who know the more technical aspects of watches, let alone people who’ve actually worked on watches. Hans is a breath of fresh air, as is his honesty. I heard about him on a recent watch podcast and came to check him out. They were right, he’s great. Subscribed.
This was a very refreshing and informative video. Loved Hans! Honest and knowledgeable. Wish there was more content like this around for watch lovers (as opposed to consumer reviews or sales discussions).
Thank you - the Patek service cost answer was super. Something a lot of people don't understand about business. I'll steal that example shamelessly to help explain risk!
Hans is my favorite part of the channel. I learn so much. Great to know the reason certain basic high end movements have such high servicing costs is because of the risk involved.
I watched this video a couple years ago. I purchased a Navitimer with the B01 today. It’s Huge purchase for me considering everything else I could buy for the same price. Watching this made me realize I’ve been wanting a watch with this movement for so long that I’ll always appreciate what it is.
More Hans please! Your best video ever. "Buckets of sand"! Rare honesty and not name dropping, not afraid to say good things about Breitling and Seiko. Topic ideas: 1. More info about Breitling models to avoid. 2. Reveal the industry secrets about which Swiss watches are really mostly made in China, or in Chinese factories in Europe. And which are not. If you dare. 3. Discuss independent German brands (Sinn, Damasko, Junghans, Dievas, more) vs Swiss conglomerate brands. thx!
Standard - adjusted in two positions; accuracy of +/-12 sec/day up to +/- 30 sec/day Elaborated - adjusted in three positions; accuracy of +/-7 sec/day up to +/- 20 sec/day Top - adjusted in five positions; accuracy of +/-4 sec/day up to +/- 15 sec/day Chronometer And if it were say a SW220-1, for example, premium and COSC movements are incabloc vs std and premium that use novodiac
Vostok Watchie I suppose technically the question was if their were any mechanical differences between the 4 grades of 2824 which as I understand it their isn’t like say the SW220... BUT... the deference between the 4 grades for all those companies that take these off the shelf and maybe replace the rotor but certainly don’t regulate, decorate or modify is pretty significant as again I understand
Fed, I follow you from many years. This show was one of the more delightful you post. Hans knowledge seems vast and he answer straight to the point. One suggestion: To keep audience engaged, may worth a bit of "introduction" when you disicuss a movement. Just a bit, as for other people to get an idea to what are you referring to.. Keep the good work man!
Good job Federico bringing in a master watchmaker to answer questions we all really want to know the answers to....please bring him back. Most watch viewers are tired of knowing more than what most retailers don know...we want to know the juicy details about where our money goes
Hans appearing fortnightly would be great! Simply love those little golden nuggets of information that he provides whenever he has the time to share his knowledge.
It is fascinating to have technical insight like this, which is very rarely happens on CZcams (at least in an interesting fashion). Please keep up the good work!
I’m going back and forth between the Navitimer B01 43mm and the DATEJUST 41mm. I use the chronometer. I’ll for SURE enjoy utilizing the slide rule. On the other hand I like the jubilee bracelet on the DATEJUST. If I could, I’d grind away the Rolex crown on the face and just leave the “Rolex”. My “issue” is how Rolex has become a status symbol. I appreciate them for their in-house movements. My uncle’s DATEJUST is 40 years old. Just had it serviced for the first time last year. Keeps perfect time. As dumb as it sounds, I don’t want to be wearing a DATEJUST and have to deal with the occasional having to explain that I DIDN’T get it because it a “Rolex”, but because of the quality of the movement. I’ve never been asked about my speedmaster, except from other Watch dudes. My watches aren’t “safe queens” either. I use ‘em. I cut the yard, swim, hit the gym, and whatever else with my Speedmaster. It’s got dings and scratches. You can’t take ‘em when you check out, so enjoy them. My problem now is just figuring out which Watch I won’t be able to “take with me” when I die - DATEJUST or Navitimer B01 43mm…
More Hans, without a doubt. He speaks very directly and therefore comes across as a very honest person, which is very very positive in this industry, that is filled with so much marketing BS.
I have 2 Breitling Watches, a "Superocean II 42" and a "Navitimer Chronograph 41" both with ETA. But the next step will be a Breitling with a B01 Movement. Maybe the new Chronomat or a Premier. Great Channel and greetings from Germany :)
Man... haven’t watched a vid in a while and this was just what I needed. The rapping back and forth was super educational and entertaining. Also, Fed you are still slimming down. Great job!
Great content, thanks! The whole ETA/Selitta movement thing is interesting. In the car world, for example, Lotus uses some of the same Toyota engines in Camry's and RAV4's, and charges $90-120k for their cars. A watch's dial, bezel, crown, case and bracelet are like a car's body, chassis and driving dynamics. That, along with marketing, history and prestige, are what you're paying for, if the engines are all the same.
As an aside, I also really enjoyed the comments regarding radium dials. I was in charge of our local municipal water utility in another state when we discovered high levels of radium in our drinking water. We were the first public water utility in our state fully permitted to remove radium. It’s no joke.....you don’t want that on your wrist or anywhere on your body. Our water treatment plant operators were issued dosimeters to monitor their exposure once the removal equipment was fully operational.
I trully believe omegas movements are tougher than rolex or breitling or at least as tough as rolex...maybe there are not old enough to test their reliability but in terms of toughness...they are spot on speaking from personal expierience
More Hans please. I want to hear more about the diffrence between ETA vs Sellitta. I know you guys have made a video about it before but that was a time ago. And i haved read that Selitta now have steping up in the game lately. Great video.
More Q&A:s with Hans! 👍 Love the channel and the thing having a German "Uhrmacher" onboard add a bit of "bazinga". Keep up the great work Federico ( und Hans! )👌 Sincerely / Mr. Näckdal - your guy in Sweden
Ben Clymer is ok, but Federico is a man of superior taste. All unscripted. Definitely the dopest watchtuber on the interwebs! And just about the only watchtuber interesting enough that I'd want to be seated next to at a dinner party.
Hey Fed, Always enjoy your content and definitely enjoy hearing Hans speak on watches from the perspective of a true watchmaker, he seems like cool guy who is genuinely passionate about his craft.
Great vid. Was a great topic for me, I have five Breitling three B01 variants two manual wind and one automatic. It was great to hear now good they are. I know mine have run great and keep great time well within Cos and one beats my Rolex GMT Master II. Yes definitely have him back.
Frederico and Hans are the best! Everything you should know about watches is conveyed here with a lot of humor. I look forward to the next conversation with Frederico and Hans!
This was one of the most interesting watch videos I’ve seen. It was a great idea to bring a master in for this q and a. It’d be cool to keep the same format and go longer when time permits.
First off Hans is a badass he's just good to watch his casual nature absolutely amazing he just gives you a sense of confidence that you can believe exactly what he saying excellent video excellent video
I like talking to knowledgable watch geeks, but to hear a watchmaker is so valuable. Sort of like having a professional automotive mechanic advise on the really deep tech before buying a car. Hans should be a semi-regular on your channel.
As a Breitling B01 owner, this video made me happy.
🎯🎯🎯
me 2
As a Tudor black bay heritage chronograph owner, ditto.
@@jpbernie72 tudor is great but just a tad below Breitling..
Received the Navitiimer B 01 from my girlfriend just last week and I was blown away. By the watch and that she gave me a Breitling for my birthday. I've never had a Breitling before and I can't stop looking at it...so happy.
Hans is so charismatic, I would subscribe to his channel if he had one.
I agree, he was a great edition to the video. I need to find a master watchmaker for my channel ! lol
Like many people who actually do things instead of just talking about them.
Let’s hans show us more on his desk or work
that would be pretty cool to see
Customary wrist watch check “I am wearing my own machine that I made” Hans is at another level! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great to see Hans on the channel, you should get him on more often, love the channel keep up the good work
I agree its great to hear Hans's insight.
Great to have Hans back. I could listen to him all day. He has so much knowledge and insight into the world of watches.
def was a great edition to the video and the first video I have caught with him in it
Hans is a cool guest...actually he is more likeable than most watch reviewers on CZcams
We need much more of Hans on this channel. It’s great to hear from an actual insightful knowledgable person about watches!
Absolutely fascinating video! His comments about the robustness of Seiko movements and the reason why a high-end movement is more expensive to service than a lower-end movement with the same complications were fascinating. His art is behind the desk with a watch, but you should definitely get him on camera as much as you can!
This is awesome. We need Hans on more, Delray watch is so lucky to have him on the team, what a legend!
All fantastic questions, please have this more often. 👍🏻
Can Christoph Waltz play Hans in the “Federico Talks Watches” movie?
😂😂😂 Without a doubt!
thats a bingo
I think that he would prefer Ryan Gosling.
You’re right. I had no idea that was the basis of the cost differential in the service.
Subscribed.

More Hans, please!! Great to see him with Fed in the channel. Cheers from Argentina!
🤔 Very educational! I never thought i would say this as a guy but yes " I want more Hans!" 😁
The BEST watch video I've watched in years. 5 stars. PLEASE do these videos again
Great to see Hansy on the channel again. Good stuff. 👍⌚
More to come!
I have a B01 and it’s so great to hear a professional like Hans to wax lyrical about the B01
Hans could do a few vids on how us watch geeks can take better care of our watches! I’d love Hans opinions on different movements etc. best regards
I watched this video a couple years ago. I purchased a Navitimer with the B01 today. It’s Huge purchase for me considering everything else I could buy for the same price. Watching this made me realize I’ve been wanting a watch with this movement for so long that I’ll always appreciate what it is.

You're right about that. It's not "just marketing" and I'm surprised Hans wasn't aware of this...
Very informative! Thanks
As an engineer, I really enjoyed the technical talk based on experience. Yes, more Hans please.
I'm only 4:45 into this video and am really loving this approach with Federico and Hans talking and the Q&A. Best video I've seen from you yet!
I have watched so many of these episodes over the years and I find this to be one of the most interesting. It is always great when Hans joins the fun.
Fed, I follow you from many years. This show was one of the more delightful you post. Hans knowledge seems vast and he answer straight to the point. Man, your "ask a watchmaker" videos are quite good. Keep up the good work.
Love to have the watchmaker there, more of this please 👍🇳🇴
Hans meeds to appear every six months or so! He brings a different dimension to the channel!😍
Good job Federico bringing in a master watchmaker to answer questions we all really want to know the answers to....please bring him back. Most watch viewers are tired of knowing more than what most retailers don know...we want to know the juicy details about where our money goes
I love these videos with Hans! Thanks for having him on. Always a pleasure to hear a watchmaker’s perspective.
Hans appearing fortnightly would be great! Simply love those little golden nuggets of information that he provides whenever he has the time to share his knowledge.
Well at least he didnt say the full name: Karlstein an der Thaya
Always nice to see a fellow austrian!
The episodes with Hans are pure gold! Thanks for the vids Fed!
Great to hear from a master watch maker. Very illuminating. Thumbs Up from India Frederico
It is fascinating to have technical insight like this, which is very rarely happens on CZcams (at least in an interesting fashion). Please keep up the good work!
Good to see Adam Savage on your show again.
Great! More Hans please! Greetings from Germany! 👋🏻😃
This will become a classic ,it’s not often you see watch makers talk openly about movements.
I’m going back and forth between the Navitimer B01 43mm and the DATEJUST 41mm.

Listening to Hans is hands down the most valuable and interesting watch content on CZcams. Priority viewing every time. Much more please!!! 😬👍
Great Q&A with Hans, please do this again. Perhaps a Hans series?
I love to get Hans’ (Mr. Watchenegger) knowledge and perspective. Keep up the good work!

Great Channel and greetings from Germany :)
Very informative Fedrico, need to do more of these and for longer. Do not know any other watch channel that does this so you have a niche here.
Hans spitting fire in this video. No games
Man... haven’t watched a vid in a while and this was just what I needed. The rapping back and forth was super educational and entertaining. Also, Fed you are still slimming down. Great job!
Commenting cause I wanted to do more than thumbs up. Excellent content!!
Interesting show, great Q&A.
Great interview, I have read other watchmakers that have said that the B01 movement is one of the best chronograph movements out there.
This is one of the best videos, content wise, that I've seen here or anywhere. Thanks for putting this out.
Great content, thanks! The whole ETA/Selitta movement thing is interesting. Watchbox studios have a video on this👍
@@tonycuroni Tanks, I'll check it out.
More Q&A:s with Hans! 👍
Love the channel and the thing having a German "Uhrmacher" onboard add a bit of "bazinga".
Keep up the great work Federico ( und Hans! )👌
Sincerely / Mr. Näckdal - your guy in Sweden
Excellent video. I love that the movements discussed are being clarified for quality vs marketing. Great job Fed and Hans.
Wow very good to have Hans' insights on the show!
Hans...Take Federico's whip away so that we can see you more often.
More of these with Hans, the two of you together are great!
Ben Clymer is ok, but Federico is a man of superior taste. All unscripted. Definitely the dopest watchtuber on the interwebs! And just about the only watchtuber interesting enough that I'd want to be seated next to at a dinner party.
Great episode Q&A with Hans well 'chaired' by Fed. Quality product here!
Hey Fed, Always enjoy your content and definitely enjoy hearing Hans speak on watches from the perspective of a true watchmaker, he seems like cool guy who is genuinely passionate about his craft.
Hans is great!! Appreciate his honesty and expertise and industry and product knowledge!! Come back Hans!!
I’d love to see the blue dialed version of your Leaureatto in one hand and a Royal Oak with blue dial in your other hand just to compare the dials.
Thanks Hans! You too Fed........
Great vid. Was a great topic for me, I have five Breitling three B01 variants two manual wind and one automatic. It was great to hear now good they are. I know mine have run great and keep great time well within Cos and one beats my Rolex GMT Master II. Yes definitely have him back.
Which B01 models are manual wound?
In the Navitimer Cosmonaute, and actually called B02.
Slayer HK Thanks.
Great. More Hans please.
Great episode! Nice to see someone who tells he truth about "overpriced bands". Also, good on Frederico to shopfront someone with no axe to grind.
Loved this video, Fed. Definitely want more videos with Hans.
Reminds me of a more scholarly version of Jurgen Klopp, nice vid guys!
Frederico and Hans are the best! Everything you should know about watches is conveyed here with a lot of humor. I look forward to the next conversation with Frederico and Hans!
Really great information. I took away several really good points - differences in movement grade, why service costs vary
Nice to see that Delray Watches has a professional watchmaker. I like the story of radium watches living watches dials marks on bones.
Best interview I’ve seen in a long time, among any watch channels! So informative, I learnt a lot!!
I just buy my first heritage 2 46mm superocean. All black with rubber ..so satisfying 😌
This was one of the most interesting watch videos I’ve seen. It was a great idea to bring a master in for this q and a. It’d be cool to keep the same format and go longer when time permits.

Great show, encore please! Also I'd like to get a better look at his watch, it looked fantastic. A high horology 2824.
I love Hans! He is very informative and authentic.
Thanks. Great content!
Like to hear more about Hans PoV in watch making.

Good idea Federico. I would like to see more of Hans.
Excellent Qs and As session. Really appreciate Hans’ input. Great to have an expert tell us how it is. Love your watch channel.
Great video and educational. We need more of these types of videos.
Man...this one was freaking awesome Fed!! Learned so much. Please bring Hans back to share his knowledge for us novice watch collectors.
Love my 43mm breightling 01 Swiss air navitimer with the b01.
Definitely more Hans. Very interesting.
Listening to Hans' comments is great. We want (at least a little bit) more!
