Who all does a ‘thumbs up’ to Erik when he does it?
every time!
I drink a coffee and a 👍 too
It’s a must
Me!
Many of we coffee drinkers have our ritual. A hot drink of French roast and I also do my thumbs up. 👍
Morning coffee. A Holy moment... 🙏🏻
I ve been following your content for 3 years before Covid
I have my own ceremony. usually I can sit in bed on a Sunday morning here in the USA with my own coffee sharing the holy moment and returning the thumbs up with Erik.
That is only way to drink coffee in woods. I have same Trangia kettle from early 90's 👍
Greetings from Finland!
Always a pleasure
Erik, the coffee ritual is the best part. I always look forward to it :D Thank you for sharing. Cheers.
Beautiful calming film. I feel like I'm at one with nature watching your films. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video…nothing like a cup of coffee in nature…please send one over lol …stay safe and take care !!
I do the same things in the woods as you. I thought I was the only one. Thank you for making this in English.
Thanks for the nice video about your coffee making. Swedewoods gave a little 'Thumbs Up' in your honour during his video yesterday. 👍
I've got a kettle like that, and the same nylon bag. My cup is the collapsible army one. Funny how things settle into a standard across thousands of miles and dozens of languages and cultures.
Been following your channel for a long time
Always appreciate the exhibited artistry and a respectful immersion in nature and the efforts over years to share these videos especially in the often frigid temps and how basic gear is handled differently
And there is something about that unique talent that offers the firebox and Steve’s channel and your channel and while 1/2 a world apart, but yet both individuals connected is pretty special -
My 7 year old daughter does the thumbs up to me after she has done the 2 second pause after drinking her invisible coffee.....Great work Erik.
I love hearing the squeak of the snow because it brings back memories of cold snow.
Great sharing as usual! Lot of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker friend from the Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
Scandinavian coffee ceremony SIMILAR to the Japanese tea ceremony. Very ritualistic. 😉👍🏻
Looks like a perfect day to be out
Hike,fire,coffee. The holy trinity
As always excellent....wow...thanks for sharing...beautiful and relaxing.
So many words !
Its sth like Holiday special weve all waited for ;)
Nice post! Very vintage-Normark in many ways. Erik, you enjoy an idyllic landscape in the region where you live, I envy you! Thanks for posting. As always, I thoroughly enjoy the content, production, quality and presentation of your episodes. Cheers.
Great! Nice to hear your voice and hear a bit about the fire box, the blackened pot, and the coffee ritual. Days are getting longer, yes! Enjoy!
One of my subscribers told me to watch this, I can see why.
We share the same black kettle and coffee philosophy. Our kettles could be twins :)
The black kettle society :) Thanks
I always do the 👍 "a holy moment" back when you do it haha
Great video 👍🏼 Thanks
So great. Keep up the great work.
Great to have morning coffee with you Erik! Cheers- southwest Michigan
Såå härligt när ljuset återvänder!!! Tack för att du tog med oss så vi kunde delta i din rofyllda ritual!
I like the voiceover
Always a pleasure to watch, thanks.
Wonderful as always 😀
thumbs up from swedwood fans too, both are my favourite channels. tak
Would you believe it, I was just thinking after your last video (seasonal mix), "I haven't seen his box stove for a while ". And here it is! Nice joining you for coffee. It's been passing- out hot weather. Yep. See you in the next one. T. 🐞
very beautiful! thank you, 10 years with you!
Cool anorak . The Fire Box makes managing a small fire suprisingly easy . Impressive . I think that until you use one you would not imagine how handy they are . That one is my favorite .
Love seeing those days getting brighter and longer! Late winter is a special time and the hope of warmer days ahead with Erik!
Thanks for sharing this Erik. You answered some questions I'd always had in the back of my mind. 🙂 My kettle is very old too... probably 40 years old now. It's battered, and melted but has been in the woods with me for a long time. Although cheaper/newer/lighter ones are available, I always take my trusty old aluminium kettle with me: it wouldn't be the same without it.
Another great coffee ☕ Thank you Erik
Humans are little animals, we like habits and simple pleasures, and turning our faces to the warming sun. Cheers, Erik!
I’ve always wondered how an obvious coffee aficionado could drink instant, so I’m glad you cleared that up. Your videos are brilliantly crafted and so relaxing. Thanks!
A sprig of pine in the spout stops a lot of grounds leaving the kettle during pouring. 👍
A perfect video for a quiet, snowy Sunday 👍🏼
I had a half liter pot similar to the Trangia that I bought when I lived in Germany. It had the same "crust". I never wanted to clean it off either, was worried it would change the flavor or something. I always felt like it imparted some magical flavor into the water that was used for coffee or tea. Strange things that we develop as part of our rituals.
Somehow I missed this video. It showed up in my recommended feed so I watched it.
Nice photography!
いつも見ています☺️コーヒー飲んだ後のいいね、いつも楽しみにしてます😁
A perfect day.
Erik - thanks for the quiet and relaxing trip. I have my coffee going too. Would you be able to tell me what skis those are, please?
I was right there with you,Erik,as you took your first sip and of course 👍 Coffee, tea, whatever one's beverage choice, is most definitely a "Holy Moment". Beautiful, calming, embracing video,as always. ☀️🌲🌲❄❄🔥☕🙏
I’ve been watching you drinking coffee for a few years now, it’s always a pleasure 🙏🏻
Thanks Erik, what a classic. Firebox, Boil Water, add 147 scoops of coffee WALA!! good to go!!! Now we know your secret to handling cold weather so well.
I appreciate the commentary in this one. Keep up the great work :)
I don't do caffeine so well anymore, so my morning ritual is now hot cocoa with a little instant coffee.
🙂👍👍
Thanks so much, Erik! Beautiful and calming as always...All the best...
Непривычно смотреть видео со словами, ну ничего привыкнем.
love what you do, keep up the great work!
Härligt med en kaffestund i solen! Väldigt avkopplande att se! Tack för att du delade din kaffe ritual!
Finally, been wondering for years
Fire, coffee, thumb up, the world is still somehow in good order... 👍
Awesome outing
When it comes to captioning ambience, colors, sounds and inclusive viewing, Erik you have the package entity to produce. Enjoy your weekend! Br, Janne/Finland
Se le echaba de menos amigo, un saludo desde España.
Thanks for giving the details of your coffee ritual. Funny thing is that, even though I am a tea drinker myself, I still really enjoy seeing your coffee ritual.
So glad to have you posting regularly again was very pleased by your optimistic end to the video too. I’m very much looking forward to watching the outdoor seasons ahead with you!
Thanks Chris!
Love you brother. Superb videos, wonderful photography. Amazing.
Fantastic as always Erik 👍
What a beautiful morning !!!! And the day is gorgeous 😍.
Out here in the west ( of the USA ). We call that type of coffee making " cowboy coffee " 🤠.
That pull over jacket is SOOO COOL,, I love that it has pockets but it also has the mid zippered section !!!!!!! Id love to find one like it !!!
Eric always has cool stuff !!!!! I bet he has A room just for his gear 😍👍🏽
SO appreciate your videos. Simplicity at its best. Love this same hiking ritual, only with black tea. It's a very Zen kind of experience, calming, centering. I'm looking forward to days like the one in your video here in Colorado. Right now we're in a cold snap with temperatures at about -14 C, so hikes like this will have to wait a bit. Got a Firebox Nano a couple of winters ago and love using it just like this. My old teapot looks a lot like yours. Thanks again. Thumbs up!
Here in Colorado also. We have been living here in the winter months for twenty years and I don’t remember it being such a long stretch of cold weather. This is like our weather in NH. Guess I am letting the cold get to me in my old age. We always was hiking in below zero temps back in NH. We were dressed for it and prepared. Have a nice time out in the great outdoors of Colorado once it is a little warmer.
I’ve been watching you for about 3 years and always wondered what kind of coffee you used.
Now I know it’s coarse and it sinks
What a nice day you had to sit and have a coffee outside and it is uplifting that the days are getting longer!
Take care 🇨🇦❤️
Today it is difficult to believe that the origin of the firebox. It was a hobo stove. Homeless people cook equipment during the deepest period of shortages in the 1930s. Now it's a luxury to get to use it.
Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
Another great video -plus you got a mention from Swedwoods. Well he gave you a thumbs up over a coffee.
Erik! It is always a pleasure to catch an Erik firebox coffee video for sure! Thank you thank you! Nqu
Отличный солнечный день!
Firebox stove G2 хорошая печь, пользуюсь уже такой, очень хорошо горит. Для кофе взял AeroPress GO, удобно в походе, достаточно сделать немного горячей воды и отличный кофе готов!
Long ago I learned to soap up the bottom and outside of the pot with dishwashing liquid. After cooking on the fire, the black comes right off with ease. But, I can see the point of not cleaning it at all when all you are making is coffee every time and not food - just pop it in the sack so as not to get the soot on other things, and leave it be. Even simpler!
Ha! Once again setting the record straight… “real coffee… not dry freeze..”
So great!
My kind of day out. Thanks for sharing. Love my Firebox!
I love the fire patina on my pot of choice so you can imagine my surprise when I cam home one day and seen this sparkling pot on the counter that looked just like my favourite well seasoned pot. I asked the wife where she got it and she tells me it's mine and she cleaned it because she was tired of looking at it..... I was in shock and awe at the same time. I couldn't believe how sparkling she got it and she did say it took her hours....lol.....well she now understands that I actually prefer my pot the way I do and she will leave my camp pots alone. Nice video.
There are 3 of you in Sweden that are living others dreams...I enjoyed your coffee and we are due snow in few days and I do same here in Germany
Very cool.
Thanks for bringing us along. We got our 1st real snow last night about 10" and it's 17°F now.
The temp. will be dropping off now. Milwaukee Wisconsin USA
Thanks for the relaxing video. I like the narration to it. 😊
Nice video, as always! A kettle black of sot has its charm, as long as one is aware that the layer of sot increases the time to boil. The Firebox in titanium needs less time to cool down...
En härlig start på dagen att få se en härlig video från dig. Man kunde nästan känna kaffe och rökdoft. Har en likadan trangiapanna. Den har följt mig på mina skogsturer i över 40 år nu. Ha de gott !
I always wondered how you filtered your coffee… finally 😁👍
Here in the west, we call it cowboy coffee. Just boil and set it aside a minute and the grounds settle-no filter needed. Best cup of coffee in the world!
lovely
Thanks for bringing us along on your adventure and good to know you drink real coffee, not that instant stuff. I always watch for the thumbs up after your first sip of coffee. 👍
Perfect seat with your skis and pad. Nice coffee ritual. An outdoors American guy reviewed the Trangia teapot last week. I commented that everyone should watch you if they want the best use example.
Swedwoods sent me here!
My favorite kettle is the GSI 1qt. stainless. So, following your example, I bought two of them so I’d have one to use over the campfire and twig stoves that I don’t have to constantly clean. Always a pleasure to join you on your outings Erik.
I like the narration. Enjoyed this with my morning coffee, thanks.
I very much like your videos.. cannot help but to feel identified.
It's clear how much you enjoy your coffee "ritual". I'll suggest to you to try drinking Mate (yerba mate), an Argentinian traditional infusion . It's a ritual even when prepared inside an office building. I'm quite sure you'll enjoy it if you manage to find yerba close to where you live and get accustomed.
Regards from Argentina
I have the same little kettle. Yours has been on more adventures! Thanks for sharing!
High, my best wishes for the coming season. Kindly Fiete
Thanks Erik! So nice to see the ☀️. I just came in from a little local hike to test some new boots. It’s -15c for the high temp here today in Colorado but really cloudy and grey😕. Looking forward to seeing the sun again in a couple of days😊
Hard to imagine all that crust comes from not removing the black. I guess it's a creosote build up? Thanks for your video!
That’s creosote alright, I would remove because it’s carcinogenic. 🤔
👍☕️🤠
All the best!
Another brilliant video 👍💪🏕
Erik, what a coincidence, my husband and I were just talking about your coffee kettle. We were looking around for one but not successful. Now I know the brand name. Thank you.
I’ve always loved your videos. They are very relaxing and I always check out all your using for equipment and what your wearing. Ha! Winter is so beautiful but sometimes feels to long in our older age. 😃 Do you have to travel a distance to get to these beautiful areas?
Så mysigt du har det.
👍👍👍
Thanks Thomas :)
