    Bob interviews Dr. Terry Wahls Author of "The Wahl's Protocol". The Wahls Protocol comes out of Dr. Wahls’ own quest to treat the debilitating symptoms she experiences as a sufferer of progressive MS. Informed by science, she began using Paleo principles as guidelines for her unique, nutrient-rich plan. This book shares Dr. Wahls’ astonishing personal story of recovery and details the program, with up-to-date research she’s now conducting at the University of Iowa.

    Interesting conversation with Dr. Wahl ! I am a big fan of diet and lifestyle changes to remedy health issues. 7 years ago I quit smoking. 5 years ago I quit the poisonous standard American diet and went Paleo. 4 years ago I switched to keto and intermittent fasting. Now my focus is on all factors leading to stress reduction. All combined, it works wonders.

    I worked at a company that had figured out how to treat most diseases in animals with diet changes from skin sensitivity to liver and kidney disease. If it is possible with animals it is possible with humans. We need to be good to ourselves and change our diets. I ordered her book and will hopefully get some relief from my many autoimmune diseases. Thanks for doing this on Bob and Brad because you have earned my trust and it makes me feel better about trying this diet.

    Does Dr. Wahl distinguish between raw dairy vs processed dairy? i would love to see studies that compare rates of autoimmune disease in people that consumed processed dairy vs organic, raw, unprocessed clean sources of dairy. I have a feeling those that consume processed dairy would have higher rates of autoimmune disease. I switched from processed dairy to raw and have experienced positive health benefits. I really appreciate this thoughtful interview and this great work Dr.Wahl is doing, we need more doctors like her that understand the role of nutrition.

    While I admire Dr. Wahls research, I am critical of her estimate to exclude eggs from her research and diet. I’ve asked this same basic question on dozens of interviews: “You do distinguish between eggs raised in a factory (little sunlight, eating fabricated meal, etc) from farm raised (in pasture, space to roam, not given antibiotics, etc.) correct? Eggs have sustained me on three continents. Hope to one day get a response. Maybe today is the day. 😉

      In another interview she said that egg whites are the third most common food allergy/sensitivity which is why she removes them. She recommended to remove them for three months and then if you want, see how you feel adding them back in.

    Interested but skeptical. I'll check out her book and decide. The reason I'm skeptical is I was juicing, eating salads, eating lean grass fed meats, non mercury and non farm fish, taking vitamins, quit dairy, etc. Ate olive oil, ate liver (organ meat), nuts and seed. Fasted once a week, you name it, I pretty much did it. Hiked 40 miles a week and worked out in the gym 3 times a week (weight lifting). And bam! I was hit with MS. So, I was living a pretty healthy lifestyle when I was hit with MS. So unless there is something that I wasn't doing that is in this book, I'm skeptical. And been on keto for the last year. I will say MS has not significantly progressed much in the last year, but it certainly has not been in any state of remission or reversal.

    The pharmaceutical /medical industry doesn't like these kind of things. Was in an MS fatigue group and I brought up the Walhs protocol. The dietician dismissed it as not have any scientific research. Another participant brought up all the research on this diet. The dietician then changed course and said it's very restrictive , and not for everyone.

      @plein aire
      So glad to hear about your niece! I've had MS for 21 years and have finally healed it using the Medical Medium protocols. The reason why your niece is doing better on a vegan diet is because she is no longer feeding the viruses that have caused her symptoms. Anthony William has a series of books that describe the virus and how it creates symptoms and how to heal those symptoms. One of the most important things is to lower the fats. Fats cling on to heavy metals, which we all have, and the viruses love to feed on heavy metals (and fats). They love eggs too, so not eating eggs is super important. Good luck to your niece to keep it up!!! 🥰
