They aren't humans, they should be treated as parasites.
Rather appropriate though given many celebrities don't treat their FANS as humans either or even care about them to begin with. I recall quite a few Hollywood neanderthals who refer to their fans as 'peasants'. So quite frankly I have no sympathy for them when the paparazzi goes after them.
Princess Diana, however, is the only one I am sympathetic for since she wasn't wanting the attention NOR did she treat people badly, unlike most others out there.

They should be but sadly they're not due to the California stalking statute: Any person who willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows or willfully and maliciously harasses another person and who makes a credible threat with the intent to place that person in reasonable fear for his or her safety, or the safety of his or her immediate family is guilty of the crime of stalking and also because most of these companies who paparazzi's work for are owned by even bigger companies with lots of money such as TMZ and with lots of money you can get away with pretty much anything even stalking or harassment
As long as you have a camera and sell it to tabloids it’s legal. Kind of like how prostitution is illegal unless you film and sell it as “porn”
It's hard to proof stalking, you have to prove the same individual has continuously followed you and intimidated you. Apart from this, the street is considered public property, anyone can take pictures, even if you don't want it. Only if it becomes a hazard or it is stopping you from carrying on with your life the you can press charges but again it is hard to prove. That's why most of these rats get away with it. Even if they get charged by the time that happens they have already sold the pictures and earn more than the fine that they may get.
The paparazzi are absolutely horrible. What drives a person to do these things just to get a photo or video of a person

I have one:
Emma Watson on her 18th birthday.
Some photographers took pictures up her skirt. The next morning the photos were published on the front of the English tabloid. Had the photos been taken 24 hours earlier, they would of been illegal because she was still a minor. But because she was 18, they were legal. It was absolutely disgusting.
I know that if I was in the room when she first told that story, it would have taken everything in me to NOT walk right up to her and give her a hug. Then I would hope and pray that I got a chance after the show.
It sickens me to hear about stories like this. I have a lot of female friends, so I kinda have a protective instinct when it comes to them. Walking down main street late at night, my guard would be way way up. Ready to protect my friend who love and care for so much.
I don't know exactly what happened that day, but I'd be very surprised if no one even tried to stop those creepy cameramen

Before I even clicked on this, I knew Princess Diana's death had to take first place as the most horrible thing paparazzi did. When I heard about that, I was so upset. I was a toddler and it upset me. I barely knew who she was, but her death broke my heart.

I really didn't enjoy hearing about what paparazzi can do. I think of Princess Diana a lot when it comes to paparazzi, and it hurts that such a beautiful soul had to go the way she did, and her poor boys were too way young to lose their mother. My heart aches thinking about it.
One of the worst thing that the Paparazzi aka TMZ did was taking a photo of a celebrity aka artist (i won't reveal his name out of respect)with his wife, he was grieving for his best friend who passed away recently. His face was red and he looked like he was crying, i bet he is in shame now since a lot of people saw him like that for the first time. I really feel bad for him, that photo was really heartbreaking.

I get that when you are a celebrity, you know what to expect. Having said that, there is no doubt that the paparazzi have hounded celebs, we see and hear about it constantly. I just watched this video and many other versions. All of them have a stalking vibe. I always feel that the celebs are pushed, chased harassed and more. We often see photos, of celebs covering their faces, begging for privacy and in extreme cases pushed to their limit. When the celeb pushes back they are then considered difficult, rude and violent. It is still unfair.

Because of that, paparazzi can fetch a six-figure sum for some photos, so for them it's worth it to be assholes and get whatever photo they can.

Paparazzi and Photographers are different. A paparazzi take photo of a celebrity without their permission and invade their private life. A photographer wait to be hired and they make money when someone ask them to take photo and hence get paid.

I'm not entirely sure, but maybe they would have to pay for the rights of the footage, thereby (financially) supporting them in a way. The whole reason paparazzi exist, is because apparently there's a demand for that kind of footage, and it wouldn't be smart to advertise that footage in a video condemning it
