Vidit's win gives a lot of hope more than happiness. His comeback after a slump from being India no. 2 at some point, seeing his younger peers conquer tournaments and being so close yet so far many times, talks a lot about trusting the process and showing up consistently will yield success eventually. Inspiring journey. Gives a lot of hope to me to stick to process and results will follow.

I love the way these players from India win with humility, and they make it a family affair. They truly cherish their family interactions and are supportive of one another. Whatever arrogance they may have, we rarely see it. They accept the good with the bad, and keep on trying to improve. They have been very good for the game and has made many of these tournaments a lot more competitive. The top GMs can't just draw their way through to invitations and titles now. They have to fight.

Congratulations, Vaishali and Vidit! India is fortunate to have such courteous champions as her ambassadors. And the world is lucky to have Sagar cover the FIDE Grand Swiss 2023 with such familiarity and class, so we could all take part in their journey. Many thanks for this. See you in Canada!

Many Many Congratulations to the one of the finest GMs of our country - Vidit! The way you played this tournament after heartbreaking loss in first round is just inspirational and amazing to watch. In the whole tournament you played solid chess against all top players.
It's really nice to see a player like you winning after so much struggle in the past. Hope to see you doing wonders in Candidates! All the best.
P.S. - I remember one of the Anish Giri's interview where he was asked who will be India's No 1 GM and he said in my opinion it could be VIDIT.

Chess aside I absolutely love this vlog because it's a long, continuous one-take shot with great framing from Sagar Shah, and people just keep popping in and out naturally so it actually feels like the viewer is actually there.
Congratulations to Vidit. It feels surreal to see him win. He was, in a way, my gateway to watching and following professional chess because of all the content creation during the lockdown and it felt like Vidit came close to winning big several times but never did win, which was extra rough because of all the new viewers and their expectations. Absolutely incredible that not only does he win, he does it after a first round loss in a tournament of this standard, and makes it all the way to the Candidates.

I was rooting for Hikaru, Anish and Vidit - so it was a happy day! Congratulations especially to Vidit, he seems to be such a nice person and even though he already proved to be great chessplayer, but this win was well derseved and overdue. Good luck for the Candidates - I hope your friend Anish will join.

Sometimes it is Gukesh, other time it is Pragga or Arjun and this time it is Vidit and Vaishali; truly Indian chess is in its golden era. Congratulations to Vidit , Vaishali and Arjun for finishing on top.
