omfg. that's all I can say ya cool dude. we had been trying for ages to fix that "screeching" distorted sound that u so well imitated cause our stereo was old and we wanted the sound to go louder on the "smart" tv when watching movies, but it didn't work, it screamed at us.. we bought different gadgets. nah. didn't work. OR so we thought. as soon as we saw your video we pulled the bits and pieces out of the cupboard, and went to the settings menu of the tv. I don't have a Samsung , its a panasonic, but managed to find that pcp , or whatever the hell it is setting. AND NOW WE HAVE SOUND COMING OUT THE STEREO GOING TO THE TV. awesome. xx

Thanks for the tip. The Samsung e-manual is garbage and have spent all day trying to get this new 50" to output to a wireless headset via optical. Switched to PCM and everything works perfectly.

I did not know PCM part until you explained it.
It was fun watching your video and this thing. But nonetheless, it was of great help. I bought this thing and connected everything and got that buzzing sound. I was ready to return this thing as I thought it was faulty. I will try the TV setting and hopefully, it will work with my Skyworth Android TV. Thanks a lot, mate.

Thanks, a great help. I have the same TV but couldn't work this one out. Changing the output to expert setting from Dolby to PCM was the key. I havent seen this mentioned on any other videos.
Step 57 It says in the converter instructions to set tv setting to pcm !!
