    This week, Diepsloot experienced another harrowing incident involving the community. Two siblings from the Johannesburg township were given R5 and a packet of chips to keep quiet after allegedly being raped by a spaza shop owner. Tensions are escalating in extension 6 after a seven-year-old girl and her ten-year-old brother were allegedly sexually assaulted by a 34-year-old man. The suspect has been arrested and appeared in the Randburg Magistrate's Court.

    Sorry to the mom and her kids. Taking the innocence of a child is the worst crime to even hear of. Its capable of troubling the soul of the victim for life. Just that experience alone can potentially destroy her kids' future. Punishment thereof should also be harsher. A few years in prison for this crime is not justice for these victims!!!

    The most upsetting thing about this is the unlikelihood of significant change in this affected community.
    Like one resident said (and the subtitles omitted)..."This isn't new. An incident happens, it's a big story for a month or two, and then things go back to normal until the next one."
