also keep in mind, sabres have +1 until end of turn. Boltyn has +1 when blocked. so if you attacked 4x with weapons, Sabres gets buffed on its next swing everytime its blocked.
Saber Boltyn seems really sweet honestly!

I thought of this combo a while back, I created a CC list on fabdb but haven't gotten to try it yet as I am waiting for cards to come in the mail. Courage/saber seems good but I am torn because axes /tunic/ and spill blood also seems pretty good
Another thing we should keep in mind is Raydn duskbane attacks cost 0 as long as we charge this turn and this does not require courage to pull off. We could potentially swing for 9 with the sword alone with a lumima ascension and a twinning blade but this is probably better for a Boltyn more focused on the light attack action cards
I like seeing more and more deck tech and gameplay content, keep it up :)
I LOVE this combo.
Love it! I mapped out a similar turn using the hatchets after they were spoiled, but I do believe Sabers + Courage is objectively better! Given the ideal scenario with the hatchets, you’d be able to present 21 damage. However, I believe exchanged with Sabers+Courage, you could present even more. And of course it’s all dependent upon how the opponent blocks to get that additional power boost.

Cool idea. Boltyn's innate "+1 if defended by attack action" is punishing enough; doubling it with the sabers puts the opponent in an even more vicious position. Throwing down a 3 defense card to end up still taking 2 is not an attractive proposition vs. saving the card and taking straight 4... absolutely savage. Lumina Ascension is such a nasty card, I love it
I definitely think this will work well. Played against a similar deck in Gauntlet.
personaly I like the axes because they get bigger no matter what but it is nice that you don't have to pay for the sabers , very cool synergy thanks for sharing!

On separate topic, have you brewed at all with Raydn, Duskbane? It seems like a very different playstyle than the axes/sabers, but a free weapon attack feels like nothing to scoff at. I don't think it could push damage turns nearly as high as the 1H weapons, but it might be better in a more grindy build of Boltyn, or one more focused on attack actions.

Had the exact same idea, got it off one time with mentor in arsenal and flipped enough light to keep up all the go again, it was amazing. But I think it's going to be really hard to make it consistent

@@DMArmada yeah my buddy flipped his prism deck and grabbed ira.. Hahaha, but I'm running a huge chunk of hit and run, to abuse the dynamo boots. I don't know it's all very hard and though to build.. Hopefully somebody cracks the puzzles completely (maybe it's soul good?), because you haven't lived, if you haven't swung with 4 sabers in a turn!
@@onlyFABs in the first draft of the deck I included a bunch of hit and run as well!
Now imagine you have remembrance. Play The killer combo and then pull remembrance play it instantly and get your Lumina back. If you have 2 remembrance cards and two Lumina you could (although understandably unlikely ) play the saber Lumina combo 4x. Not to mention Remembrance let’s ya pick 3 Attack Action cards from your graveyard so you could get 2 charge cards back and 1 Lumina or 2 Lumina and 1 charge… the possibility’s are endless y’all.
I made a deck with his sword, it is like a dorinth deck but with the occasional charge juice but still the same damage and theoretically more damage than dorinth if the right combo is played.
I made it mostly because the sword doesn't have an energy cost, but giving it go again and or being able to swing twice was what I was going for. If I was able to charge and draw a card then I can get 4 damage off the bat, then use a bunch of reactions to make that 12 damage with a second swing for 6 or 7 damage.
Will definitely try this out once CRU unlimited comes out and these cards aren't insanely overpriced.
Also interested in a Spill Blood Dori or Boltyn axe build

Seems good that they can give themselves +2 and therefore be targets for Boltyn's "go again" ability :)
Nah, I stayed away from ES this time around. It's pretty solid in the deck, though!
Gallantry and Courage armor equipment says this turn not until end of turn means only usable for 1 atk not until end of turn
No mentor? She seems perfect for Sabers biostibg there dmg passively for go again until they land, and when they land pull out lumina ascension
I like the mentor and if I had one I'd probably jam it in there! The blitz decks are on the way for me still.
I have been trying and trying to get Boltyn to work for me, but I just can't get around his resource heavy requirements.

tbh, its clunky... i use arsenal to put my combo pieces if i draw it early.
Why you don't play mentor? It will give you a lot of damage and can search for lumina.

I wanted so bad to make the same combo work with axes and spill blood but courage only works on swords
Definitely... I have a build with axes but it misses out on courage!

Yup, and you can give your weapon go again with Boltyn's attack reaction effect!
also could you add the mentor card to get lumina out more consistent to go for the multi swings ? would love to build this deck too but the cards are so crazy pricy this chest plate is like 300euro -.-

V of the vanguard is also very abusively good in this build.

@@DMArmada - i play lumina + chest + Gallantry Gold first then V- of the vanguard (its the combat chain updates from the rules - from what i read tho) charging 2 light cards, pitch blue and swing for lethal. so V attacks for 5 then sabres attack for 6 naturally buffed. Glisten in the Arsenal also works like charm when you start wailing.
@@ramirgeddon i dont think you get the additional attacks off lumina if you play it and haven't charged that turn on it's resolution. So playing V after already playing lumina doesn't retroactively allow you to attack an additional time with weapons.
As a new player, how hard would it be to build to this from the Boltyn precon?
The hardest part for you will be the Courage of Bladehold armor. It's from the Crucible of War set which only has a first edition printing currently so it's an extremely expensive card. Well over $100 at the moment. A lot of the other stuff you can get fairly cheap from the unlimited runs of Welcome to Rathe and Arcane Rising and the upcoming unlimited run of Monarch.
Once CRU Unlimited comes out within the next month you’ll be able to find yourself a Courage for a much more affordable price! 😊👍

@@aether9461 it most definitely is coming! If you check the official FABTCG website you’ll see they have it listed for release😊 I can’t remember it’s ETA, but I believe it’s coming in June.

Try out normal levia blitz deck if you lose let me know lmao all these combos can’t block 13 every turn especially if it has dominate just tank first then swing
If only Snag can also effect weapons that would be so evil. You build up all this and i pop snag and your weapon loses all that power and now you can react to give them go again.
Same thing happens if I play all of these cards and my opponent slams down an Arclight Sentinel...
Ffs why do people place weapons with blades towards a character? The same with hatchets. Gives me shivers...
I don't see how attacking with your weapons an additional is good without having a built-in Go Again. Attacking an additional time still requires an action point and if you don't have enough cards in your soul, you're toast basically. Seems quite unreliable.
It's certainly a card you have to set up and prepare for, so arsenaling it is smart!
