Hi Trev and Sue. We visited Barnard Castle about 7 years ago while we were on our way to Northumberland. As your video shows, it's a lovely place to spend a few hours and, the castle is well worth a visit. On the same trip, we stopped off at Belsay Hall, near Newcastle upon Tyne, which I mention because the gardens there have huge Gunnera growing in them.
I trust the weather will be kind for you on this trip, it looks promising at the moment, and I see you have the Earnshaws on your tail!
Hi Robert, thanks for the tip about Belsay Hall. Complete coincidence that Bob and Jenny are behind us but we do go in different directions this week 😃👍🏻 Trev
Bank holiday in East Anglia was think cloud, no sun! Thats the great thing about a motorhome; get in drive off and you are on holiday. Enjoy.
Certainly is Dale, we have been lucky with the sunshine though 😃🚐 Trev
So cool you get to go exploring castles! Oh, I think we'll take a walk to a castle today :) So lucky! Barnard Castle ruins are beautiful too. I don't know if that was rhubarb, but I have eaten it before. We like it mixed with strawberry and baked in a pie. The harp music was lovely, and the food looked good! Enjoy the adventures ahead in Smirf :)

Thanks Debbie, we always love your comments. We love rhubarb pie too. When we meet up we will bring some 😉 Trev n Sue
Its amazing how it's still standing, they built them good indeed :o)
It’s a fabulous castle with interesting history 😃 Trev
Lovely blue sky! It was very quiet today at the castle, but a bit chilly and overcast.
We are up near Grantown on Spey now. It’s the same here. Tonight it’s a bit misty too. Have a good trip 👍🏻🚐 Trev
Lovely video Trev and Sue, fantastic weather and you gave a great tour of the castle 😁👍 We know the area very well and it’s great to see all the little independent shop’s continuing. There used to be a big cattle market there and some amazing walks around the local area - thanks for sharing 🥰
Thanks guys, We really enjoyed our stay there. Definitely exceeded our expectations and will definitely return. 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev
Yet again a brilliant walk and views as seen by you thanks 🥂🚐🐕🐕
Thanks Anne, we enjoyed making this video in the lovely summer bank holiday sunshine 😃🚐 Trev

Thank you, we loved it and caught nice sunny weekend. 😃🚐 Trev n Sue
Hi Trev and Sue, a lovely walk to the castle on a nice sunny day. The castle ruins made for a really good tour around. Very interesting. A nice lunch too, thank you for sharing.
Thanks Julie, you are watching so many if not all our videos and we really appreciate your comments 😃 take care 👍🏻 Trev n Sue
@@PoshcatsCamping , I love your videos, showing lots of lovely sites and walks and scenic places and of course reviews. Your Scotland tour is so worth following. You do a fantastic job xx
@@gallivantinggalantes very kind thank you 😊
Lovely little video guys, hope you have an amazing trip in your new van 😎
Thanks so much, we have enjoyed the new van so far 😃🚐 Trev n Sue
What a great place to visit gunnera plants were big great vid all the best donny
I honestly didn’t know what they were. Thanks Donny have a great weekend 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev
Hi Trev and sue the plant is a gunnera they can grow huge lol great walk loving your vlogs 😀
Thank you very much for the information 👍🏻 So I can’t make rhubarb pie then 🤣🤣 Take care 🚐 Trev
Those plants aren’t native to the US. In Florida we call them elephant ears. Gunnera are extremely invasive, here. No matter how many times you dig them up.. they always come back. They are pretty, but I’ll only ever have a potted one. Nice walk. That castle was sprawling everywhere 😳 what??? Peppermint tea instead of green tea?? Who are you and what have you done with Trev? 🤣 looks like you’re having a great time.👍💕😊
Yes the plants were rather taking over. The tea was peppermint green tea. One if my occasional favourites but not all the time. 😉 Have a great weekend 🚐 Trev
That is interesting. I'm up in northern Indiana, and what we call elephant ears grow probably 20 feet tall and take a chainsaw to cut down.... More like a multi trunk tree. And the leaves are indeed similar or slightly larger than rhubarb.
Is it really just a bank holiday with no other purpose?
Hello, you're in our home town. I can answer your query about the winding gear near the traffic lights Trev. They are remnants of sluce gate equipment. There was an old mill there years ago and this was part of the system to divert the flow for water power.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Rich.
Thank you Rich, I love a bit of history and engineering too. We had a fabulous time at BC and it definitely exceeded expectations 😃👍🏻 Trev
What a fun place to explore. I just love the castles. I can just picture how amazing it was back in it's day. Think it's neat you're allowed to take your pups with you too. Love your clicks. You really got some good ones.
Thanks so much. More history again, it was a great day out 😃 Trev
Hi Trev & Sue - great vlog. Can't beat a good castle and the sun shone as well - brilliant!!
We had a lovely walk, even though we got lost in the woods 😉🤣🤣 Trev
love a good castle us thanks for showing us around xxx looks like you picked a great day weather wise
We were lucky with the sunshine ☀️ and getting lost in the woods wasn’t so bad 😉🤣🤣 Take care 🚐 Trev n Sue
Can’t wait to watch the videos from your Scottish tour. We’ve just come back from the Outer Hebrides and are heading back in October. 😀
