- Motorhome Trip To Barnard Castle
Our first trip in our Adria Matrix Motorhome takes us to The Camping and Caravanning Club Site at Barnard Castle, County Durham. We could not have picked a better caravan site for our first trip. The site was immaculate, there was a fantastic walk to Barnard Castle itself and the town did not disappoint. There were a variety of shops to visit, pubs, takeaways butchers and cafes. We visited several and had a look at Barnard Castle itself. This is owned by English Heritage.
The Motorhome is absolutely fantastic, a huge thanks to John at Cara Motorhomes and to Scorpion Automotive and Maypole for assisting with security.

Lovely place Barnard Castle, we stayed at the Caravan and Motorhome Club site which is nearer to Barnard Castle and is a beautiful site as well. We did a vblog on it last september, and as you and Jules we did nt pay to go in either 🙂 You get a red face like me with a bit of sun 🙂 🙂 The pork pies are just gorgeous from that butchers, been a few times there. Great vblog and lovely to see you back on the road again, take care

Thanks for the vlog, it was nice to see my home town on there. I hope you manage to get back there at some point as there is loads more to Barney than the fish and chips and Costa but I understand you were there only a short time. The Bowes Museam is one of the most impressive buildings in the country and has no right to be located in a little provincial market town 😀

"Barn Ad" Castle is not too far from us. People are lovely as we found out on a Classic Car event in the town when they lined both sides of the route through the town and applauded as we drove through in many and various classic cars.
Nearby is Raby Castle with its own population of Red and Fallow deer which cam ne seen driving past the castle on the way to Barnard Castle. Thumbs up for the review which reminds me I must try those fish and chips.!

Maybe go back one summer as Raby Castle also has a huge Classic and Vintage Car Show every year and the stunning castle is well worth a visit too.

We went to that site last summer. Everyone I told about our plans to go there said "are you going to get your eyes tested?" Hadn't a clue why everyone was saying this until we got home 😂.

If you mean us parking nose in that is because our door is on the right hand side on the Motorhome so it’s required so our door opens on the correct side of the pitch. If that isnt what you mean I have misunderstood your comment. Thank you for watching 😊
