- Only on “CBS This Morning,” we're hearing for the first time from a Utah boy who was subjected to a homophobic rant by his substitute teacher. The teacher, who was later fired, berated the fifth grader for being adopted by two men. Louis and Josh van Amstel officially adopted 11-year-old Daniel Thursday. Tony Dokoupil spoke with the new family to discuss what happened in class last month.

The Classic 619 stfuuu
@@theclassic6198 So you're so proud to be a homophobic bigot that you'd shame little kids? There is no dept of slime that people like you sink to. How are they morally absent but you're on here shaming grade school kids for sticking up for a child being bullied BY AN ADULT? You're probably would've been the teacher bullying the kid about his two dads because your heart is full of hate and intolerance. Try to understand people that are different from you and quit being garbage.
@@theclassic6198 Look, brat, no one wants your negativity, spread it on yourself. IDC if it gives you depression at this point. 🙂
That young man had been in and out of foster care. That teacher didn't open her home and heart to him, that couple did. I'm proud that those girls stood up to that bully. It's not always about respecting your elders or not questioning authority, it's about doing the right thing. Kudos to all the parents of the children involved, they've raised smart caring children.
But,that teacher wasn't an elder. She was just a person that was just older than he is. Those are two different things.
By definition an elder is a person of greater age than someone specified. I didn't say senior citizen.
If you want to go off the definition alone, then yes, But the elders that I am referring to is not only someone that is older than you are but some one who is willing to teach you things as well as be uplifting. She didn't do any of those things. She rather focus on some thing that is out of his control and made feel bad about it. Someone's ability to parent a child should be determined by their sexual orientation.
A beautiful magick *Well said!*
@@abeautifulmagick4685 From the tone of the rest of your comment, I think you meant "Someone's ability to parent a child should NOT be determined by their sexual orientiation", right?
All 3 of these kids are mature beyond their years. I'm amazed by their answers and hopeful for their generation.
So proud of those two girls for standing up for their classmate/friend.
Glad that teacher got fired... That's such a beautiful family 💖
They look like the classic family that appear in the front page of a magazine ^^ they are so cute.

Joey I haven't seen your vids in forever! Good to see you!
She may have thought the kid was gay because he’ comes off feminine, which makes sense because there’s no father figure there, just 2 motherly figures. They’re biologically men, but raise their son as a mother would. But that doesn’t mean anything. Look at all the single mothers in the black community. If that was the case they’d all be gay but they’re not. Except Atlanta, have you seen the rappers there lately, they’re pretty gay. But I’m just being real when I say that kid acts like my little sister.
@Pier rat wow- your homophobia is showing, pier -_-

Poor kid was just adopted and he's worried that he won't be wanted if he makes trouble. You can tell he's been through a lot in foster care/the previous failed adoption.
Why does it matter to people? If they're good parents, they're good parents point blank. Sexuality doesn't correlate with how good of a parent you are.
@A DominguezWhere in my comment did I say the teachers insults were questions? I know what she made were statements, it doesn't make them right. You don't know right out of the womb you're gay and it's not a choice either. It's the way you are. It's like with food, let's say your favorite food is pizza, you don't know right outta of the womb it's your favorite food but as you get older you realize that's what you like to eat. It's the same thing. I didn't know I was pansexual when I was born but as I grew and learned more I could put words to how I felt. I don't discriminate with who I love so I am pansexual. This young man hasn't grown up to a point where he's interested in anyone i presume, he's a kid. Eventually he'll figure out who he likes.

Jackiey Got Juice Not Tropicana nothing, he didn’t do anything wrong! They’re simply saying that a child should be a child, the fact that an adult wasn’t as mature as him was silly, and he shouldn’t have had to deal with her.
That teacher should lose her job for insulting his family, sheer ignorance , ought to be ashamed of herself.
Having two dads is better then having no parents at all, the little boy did an amazing job sticking up for his family, the teacher should be ashamed of themselves and take a lesson from this child, because he's wise beyond his years

Too young? At his age i already knew my sexuality
I think asking about it was not needed and was just not ok. However, kids are born gay, so in the same regard where a straight little boy likes a girl in his first grade class, a little gay boy would also know he finds another little boy attractive. It’s no different, it’s just our society treating it like it’s this taboo thing when it’s not.

And this women really says that this is wrong?! This boy would probably be in a kids home and looking for a family if his dads wouldnt be allowed to have kids.
Those Parents Don't Deserve to Parent
Those News Broadcasters Don't Deserve to Give the News
He (the man claiming the role of that kid's dad) said that "Stealing" is Bad. Why is stealing "Bad"? Because GOD said that stealing is bad. In fact, the same GOD who said "You shall not steal," also commands that a man should never be with another man sexually (romantically). Yes, the blessed Lord says that He does not like gay people. Yes, God loves everyone (including gays), but love and like are different. Like has to do with being a friend of or even being like-minded. God warns that both thieves and homosexuals are in danger of eternal damnation (won't enter God's Kingdom) except they repent (turn from their wicked ways) and surrender to Christ Jesus. It's the love of God for all sinners that caused Him to give His Son Jesus Christ for us so that we could be saved from our sins and receive New Life in Him.
No kid should be raised by gay males nor gay females. That is not the family structure that God ordained. If it was so natural and so of God, they would not NEED to adopt but would be able to produce kids without the assistance of heterosexuals.
Yes, stealing is bad. But remember, that God makes the rules. We are not allowed to pick and choose which ones to follow. Homosexuality is called sinful in both the Old and New Testament Scriptures.
