This is the way I see if for new nurses. There is a difference between struggling and drowning. Allowing a nurse to struggle sometimes helps to build the nursing muscle. Much the same as the struggle in the gym increases your strength. Without struggle there is no growth. Preceptors are like your spotter in the the gym. Their job is to help you do that one last rep.
Keepit Real, RN Great analogy brother
Congrats on your first night. I'm in Nursing school right now. I had an ICU visit in clinicals. I so appreciate your work. Thanks for being a role model.
I just graduated last month and passed my boards two weeks ago 🎉 can't wait to be where u are
Congrats
L&D nurse here. Love your vids! I can still remember the video you posted when you got accepted to nursing school! Way to go! You've come so far! My husband is about to start his second semester of nursing school and he's thinking ICU after graduation. :)
Keep it up! I'm hitting my six month mark of being a RN and it's so crazy to see how much I've grown. It's still weird to be on my own but it's awesome at the same time. You'll find your own routine quickly and build your own practice. It's exciting!
Hey man. I'm BSN hopeful finishing up my last A&P class before applying. You are a motivation my man! Keep grinding!
I totally understand. I had my first day on my own yesterday. It was completely overwhelming but in the end nobody so I'm grateful for that. I only hope it gets better.
Awesome! I'm two months in on my own in PCU, I really do feel myself getting better with my time management and assessment every week. I've had a couple crazy shifts that I cannot believe I survived on my own and still managed to not pass on a mess to the next shift. It gets better! You're gonna be great.
This makes me super excited! I’m only going into my 3rd of 8 semesters in nursing school. I’m hoping to work in the ICU as a new grad when I’m done so that I can go back for the nurse anesthetist program after I’ve worked for a few years. I’m sure this will change but you are super inspiring! Thank you for sharing your stories and experiences.
Justt finished high-school going to start nursing school this august yusssssssss!!!!
Congrats brotha! I know it's tough at first but like u said, u will keep getting better as u go and soon u will also be seasoned. All praise be to the Lord. God bless u
So nervous but excited to get to that day where I can fly solo. Nearly two semesters down in nursing school, three more to go. Until that day, I'll just keep grindin. Keep doing what you do bro! Love your channel!
👍 .. always great to hear it from a first person perspective. It makes me, the seasoned leader, take a step back and remember what it was like. Glad it went well.
Hola nurse Bass. Thanks for the ABG video. Very helpful. Thanks for always been positive and enthusiastic as a nurse. But what i find outstanding about you is that you are God fearing and honest. Keep up the good work. Really helps
practice makes perfect it will all be easy later on. i am still in my transition orientation into the icu. never easy.
Keep up the great work. Your such an inspiration!
Thank you for this channel.
Thank you for watching!
Sounds exciting! Is there anything you suggest doing in clinical/school to maybe better prepare for being on your own?
Just curious why you chose ICU? I'm an ER nurse, but I see ICU nurses as OCD and ER nurses as ADD lol
And psych nurses are...
No comment lol
Hey nurse bass I have a question. I'm a nursing student in the state of New Jersey and our program does not teach iv or phlebotomy? Is that the same for your state? Do you have to acquire each certificate outside of nursing school?
I'm taking a six hour course on anatomy and physiology on a Saturday for the fall.Really Long, but like you said "just dive in, and grind babe" 🙏🏽
I am a new ICU nurse plus new grad please tell me what resources helped you to stay organized I am still in orientation.
So my advise is did anyone die. No doubt in my head that you are the best nurse you can be. Some days you just need to look at your patients and say they are breathing and they are safe
#SIXSOLO
Did anyone take chemistry with lab and anatomy with lab together was it hard?
Via M It wasn't easy. But as long as you prioritize your time and focus on your studies, you will be able to get through it!
Jraangel 111 thank you so much I was worried I'm going to be taking it with math also but I will pull through because I want tgis
What's the secret sauce to learning EKGs??? I'd poop my pants if they put me in ICU by myself!!!😭😭😭😨😨😨
Renee I. Petranovich get a book on EKGs it will help u understand it better. There is a book called "EKGs Made Incredibly Easy" ...hope it helps
