You inspire me sooooo much!!! Thank you for all the positive energy. It helps more than you will ever know!
So happy to see you back! Today is a good day! I am still praying for you and your family. God bless
Welcome back Brad! ICU is where my heart is, I’m thankful that I’ve been offered a job in CCU once I graduate in December and get to move up to ICU 6 months after. I’ve been watching your videos before I even started school, you are always an inspiration.
Glad your back! Thanks for the vid!!
Wow Brad I'm so glad to see you back! I just finished nursing school and your videos helped get me through my classes. Your job sounds like it's very challenging and rewarding, I would love to work in a setting like that!
So glad you’re back and hoping everything is going well for you. Your passion is contagious. Just finished my first year of nursing school/my masters and this brings me so much joy. Excited to finish this upcoming year! Wishing you all of the best!
Wishing the best to you as well! Congrats on getting that first year behind you! Keep that pedal to the floor!
Congratulations to you and your wife on your baby glad to see more videos! Thank you
Because of you I started documenting my Nursing School experience on CZcams!
TheSassyMom82 Happy to hear it! Best of luck!
Nurse Bass Hahahaha I was thinking about journaling my journey on CZcams as well. Thanks for the inspiration
X-Ninjaxx3 Tv That’s all I was doing when I started this channel and look what it turned in to. So you never know.
Cardiac ICU is my end goal after I graduate nursing school! Stoked to learn all this info!
Great video. I work in CT surgery and always wondered the medical perspective on our fellow CTICU nurses . Keep up the great work!
I’ve been doing my OT fieldwork on a CTICU and I can only say that nurses on that unit are so attentive, helpful, knowledgeable, and just great. Thank you for what you all do!
Yay!!! So excited your back :) been following you since you had 400 subscribers. Now entering my second year of Nursing School. You're such a inspiration and motivation to me. I can and will do this :)
I remember you Christy! Super big congrats on getting to the second year of the program. I want a comment/message back from you whenever you complete the program! :D Congrats girl!
So happy for you!
Hey man! Happy to see you back and smiling and grinding! I start my first semester of nursing school on the 27th of this month. I started a closed Facebook group for my class and that first day im going to drop that saying you always say, "one day patient's lives are going to be in your hands, study like it"! Good to see you back man.
Happy to be back buddy! And I'm very happy to hear you'll be sharing the quote. It always rings true
You're awesome, thank you! I'm a CMA considering climbing up the medical field ladder. I have a burning desire to do more in this field and you definitely are inspirational!👏🏾👍🏽
very good video needed motivation to apply for an ICU and you gave me just that.. thank you hope your nursing career is going great.
Hey I appreciate it my friend! Good luck in the application process!
Dude, your vids are so inspirational. I just started my first semester and my anxiety levels are already at their limits. I literally couldn't sleep for two days already. Just finished my first assessment and skills lab and I'm already so exhausted. God, I hope I can make it to the end.
So glad you’re back! 😊
The stethoscopes on the wall behind you crack me up dude... come on man lol.
Kyle Brown ...why
Hi Nurse Bass! Great advice and motivation. I've been follow you for some time now and I will just like to say thank you for all the motivation thus far. I start my ADN program this following Monday and I am stoked about it. Keep motivating and moving forward brother...
James Buckner I’m glad you’ve stuck around through the hiatus in content my friend. Congrats on beginning the ADN program! Get ready to put the work in my friend!
I am but I am a bit nervous but I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me
Awesome video!!! Very helpful
Great video, love the technical stuff
jaketaz Glad you dig it!
This semester I will be taking AnP 2 and microbiology. After those classes I will be ready to apply for the nursing program. I was questioning myself about the posibility of succeding in the program especially after listening to all the technical terms you utilized. The last part motivated me to know anything is possible with hard work. Thank you Brad.
amadeus J. you’re so welcome my friend. It absolutely boils down to how bad you want it. Keep at it!
I agree. The last portion of this video truly inspired me. I still have like 6 more prereqs!
I need your message. I needed it! I started this past Monday in a medical ICU. I’m so scared, excited. I’m ready to GRIND! BEAST MODE. Two years ago I was afraid to walk into a patients room and assess them. Here I am, ready to hit the floor running (in danskos).
Haha don't roll an ankle in those bad boys! You're going to have a blast buddy! Just be a sponge and soak it all up!
Thank you so much for your inspiration
Simple, concise and inspiring. Thank you. MICU Nurse here. Thinking about taking the leap to CTICU.
Thanks I have a job interview on a csicu trauma 1 hospital and I'm very anxious and nervous because this is definitely a little overwhelming. But I'm empowered by your words of wisdom. I can do this, as long I do my part and study I can do this
Wow I haven’t heard from you in a while, I went through nursing school the same time as you, and listening to you speaking is amazing! You are phenomenal, I ended up going into mental health nursing because I just don’t have the brain or desire for all of that stuff you just talked about. Some would say MH nursing is something they definitely couldn’t do, I feel like it’s nothing compared to the stress & work you have with your patients
I def couldn't agree more. I have actually had that conversation with many of my cohort and Psych nurses. Like, "It takes a special kind of person to be able to do that kind of Nursing." Big props to you! :D
Nurse Bass TY❤️
Welcome Back!! I have followed you from day one.You are such a inspiration to nursing students and fellow nurses..Can you do a vlog about how you organize your day in ICU? How do you handle losing at patient? I am a new graduate RN in ICU residency program. Staying on the gRiNd....
Mel's Corner That’s what’s up! How many subs did I have when you started following? Lol. And yea, I will have to add that to my backlog of ‘videos to do.’ Lol
Welcome Back Brad! We missed you😘
Slam Dunk47 And I missed you
Level IV student here... just wanted to say you are an inspiration to me. I want to get into intensive care one of these days, hopefully I can follow your example.
That means a lot my friend. I appreciate your kind words! With hard work and dedication to your craft, you'll get there :D
WELCOME BACK! Been waiting for a new video from you!
Ashley Spent Thanks! :) More to come
Nurse Bass can't wait!
I just graduated from school and I will be working on a cardiothoracic ICU right out of school. It is intimidating for sure, but I am excited.
Welcome back we missed you.
130hengineer I missed it honestly. Just had to take some time for myself and my family and get my head straight
Finally new content. Bless up.
Zack Murphy My brother
6months in on my Cardiothoracic ICU and I will begin recovering hearts in a couple of months... I'm so nervous!!!! I have to agree though that cticu is so rewarding, to see patients have open heart surgery and walk out the door 3-7 days later like... WHAT!!!!
Sammi Strade
Very cool. Todays nurses are amazing, responsible for so much with so much knowledge. Truly the front-line workers managing patients.
It is chaotic in the beginning because a lot to look out for and the bleeding is most important. Then usually it’s just monitoring but once you start to titrate drips then it gets busy. True though how much you learn over the years and applying it to practice now is great.
RN Scrub It’s very rewarding working alongside all of these experienced SICU nurses. Their wealth of knowledge from years of experience is unparalleled
Love it!!! Bless you.
Thank you Brad. I'm just starting my last year of nursing school, great inspirational videos. Belive it or not you and a few other nurses on you tube keep alot of us going, especially after those bad days. Thank you Brother!!
That’s what I’m here for guys! Keep up the hard work
Two different worlds but I can't decide whether I want to be on CSICU or back in the ED where I was once working as a phleb.....Great video & advice!
Did you learn all those procedures in nursing school or was there a bit of a learning curve you had to adjust to when you started in that unit?
ApeshitBANANAS I learned maybe 5% of this stuff in school. The rest was learned on the job. So a MASSSSSIVE learning curve
I’m exhausted after watching this video 😂 so much went on but anyway welcome back brotha hope ur doin well
FutureRN_Corey _ Same to you brother!
Just curious? How many patients are you taking care of during a typical shift?
Sounds like a lot going on. I just started another ER position in a new hospital and am feeling like a new nurse yet again getting use to protocols and the computer system. What is your ratio on your unit I would guess 2 per RN but you could be more.
ER Nurse & Gamer It depends on the patient. For stable post op day 1-3 patients, we can go as high as 1:3. But for the fresh post op patient, or the VAD/CRRT/IABP/Impella patients, it is often 1:1
Did you start in ICU as a new grad or did you work med/surg first for a little and then transfer over? I would looove to do cardiac ICU eventually but I don't know how much experience I need to land a position like yours?
Super happy to hear that you finished Nursing School and that the content has been helpful man. That's awesome!
And I went straight into the SICU right out of Nursing School as a new grad.
To be honest, it really just depends on the need in your area for critical care nurses.
If there is a Nursing shortage, specifically CC Nurses, then your chances are higher for sure.
That was the case for me. There was a great need for Critical Care Nurses so the local hospital I work at now was more inclined to hire new graduate nurses directly into the ICUs. All in all, there were about 11 of us that got hired into ICUs right out of Nursing School!
Congratulations Nurse Bass!!! Thanks for all of the awesome videos, they've been amazingly helpful.
I'm torn between CVICU and Surgical Trauma or Trauma ICU. I want to become a Nurse Anesthesiologist
I am starting on October 8th - LPN school (RN was not an option, I needed night time school as I have 4 kids lol). This is so inspiring!!!! I've got two areas that I'm highly interested in Pediatrics and anything heart related ♡♡♡
Carole Ingram you will love LPN! I have 1 year left and it has changed my life!
Jaymie-Lynn Luscombe I'm a bit anxious since it has been a long time since I set foot inside a class room. I have been waiting a long time to get started, finally in a position to do so. It will be challenging for our entire family but hopefully it will be rewarding. ♡
Congrats on getting into the LPN program and for making it happen! It’s all about what works for YOU! :) How exciting
Nurse Bass thank you for your kind words ♡ just waiting on my schedule and book list, which I should get next week. Since I am starting on October 8th, I'd like to get a small headstart. LOL It wouldn't hurt to start reading a bit :)
Hi Nurse Bass, can you be in ICU or CVICU with an ADN?
Han Ho I currently am :)
Nurse Bass just landed a job as a ED RN 🤗🤗🤗
Hi nurse bass my first day is near # nervous but thanks alot
What did you do to get to work in that unit? What unit did u start?
Magdiel ramirez I started on this very unit as a new grad. And what did I do? Just grind man. I put the work in whenever I did a clinic rotation through the department. And my clinic instructor for that semester ended up going on to become the Assistant Director of the department that I now work on. So I quote/unquote had my foot in the door. So it’s very important to always give 100% in those clinicals. You never know who is watching :)
Nurse Bass awesome! Much appreciate the response! I was very curious!
Applying to nursing school in 2 weeks..You're my inspiration.
Diana K.
You think you would go to CRNA school? just wondering.
OTF True That was an initial thought of mine, but the more I think on it with my family, the more I am leaning toward other career paths
Nurse Bass I respect that good luck on ur future endeavors 💯💪🏾
For the Love of God, get your glasses adjusted. You touched your frames 34 times in this video. If you do this at work, lord knows what type of stuff your glasses are carrying so close to that mug of yours.
Great message though.
Reed Peterson Lol you seriously aren’t lying. I have needed them adjusted for the longest time now.
My goal is to work in the cardiovascular department. I have had several family members who had heart transplants and LVAD... God is good!!!
