RIP the two members of The Four Seasons Nick Massi (September 19, 1927 - December 24, 2000), aged 73 Tommy DeVito (June 19, 1928 - September 21, 2020), aged 92 You both will be remembered as legends.
Just watched it and don't think it was underrated at all, it was average. It had it's moments, but I think the critics were spot on, the stage version was a lot better.
Tony Fiducia I’m 35 and missed all of it being born in the 80s. But the entire 50s and 60s are a time period that I feel so connected to and will never really understand why. I was the youngest person in the theater when this came out in 2014. Whether it was them, The Beach Boys, Motown, etc. I really love it all. I drive a Mustang and will someday own a classic Mustang. That whole period just seems so magical.
Tony Fiduca I'm 31 & grew up listening to this kind of music with my Dad. The movie was phenomenal. The Broadway production was fantastic! So catchy and feel good music. Brings out emotions.
Loved this movie! Even my husband enjoyed it and it's not his type of film. I wish I could have seen John Lloyd Young on Broadway in this role. The family and friends of mine who were lucky enough to see him said he was phenomenal
2:27 - Right after the last note of the song, when there was a series of shots of the cast frozen after the last dance move ... holding on those shots, with a couple of them you can see who are barely catching their breath, but all in a frozen pose, with expression of joy on all their faces ... that was an inspired choice by the editor and/or Eastwood. Most conventional editors/directors would have just cut to black and the remainder of the titles, instead of this. I guess they were trying to duplicate what an audience sees in a live show, and it works big-time.
Love the movie and group in real life. Normally I'm a metal head but a friend at work starting playing it and everyone can't stop from singing the harmonies , I was hooked . Always leaves you feeling great . They did a great job with the movie
My parents brought me up with music like this and took me to see the Jersey Boys musical in London and I took my friends who also enjoyed it and I'm 37!!!!
@@mariajukejax9649 There was another reference to one of Joe Pesci's most famous roles. When he goes to Bob Gaudio's house to tell him about the group, Bob chuckles over something and says, "That's funny." Joe replies, "Funny, how?" It was a nice full-circle moment, given the reference in "Goodfellas" to The Four Seasons: "Who do you think you are, Frankie Valli, or some other kind of big-shot?!"
@@manuelorozco7760 Good for you. Btw, those guys in film are actors, not originals. For sure that the original on the stage is always much better than smth. what isn't real.
I don't care what rhe critics say, Jersey Boys was/still a great movie! Ty Clint Eastwood for directing such a beautiful movie. As well having Christopher Walken dancing at the end!!!!!! Dedicated to Tommy DeVito!
A decent film, but I really enjoy this ending and reminds me of the ending to Hello Dolly when you have brief reprises of: Put on Your Sunday Clothes, Dancing, It Only Takes a Moment, It Takes a Woman, and wrap up with reprise of Hello Dolly similar to this with brief reprises of Four Seasons songs and end with the big song.
If I altered the ending, after "Who Loves You", I'd have the first scene take place in our time. 1st some random group of young friends were trying to form a band of their own. One of them finds a Four Seasons record/CD and decide to play it for inspiration. Then scene switches to the Four Seasons singing Sherry. After "come out tonight", they hear a high note, finding a hole, peek through it and Frankie rips it open until finding the teens. Stunned seeing something impossible, Frankie invites them over to their side. The Four Seasons decide to show them how they do as a band and THAT'S when they'll sing "Oh What a Night". Frankie would sing "hypnotizing, mesmerizing me" instead. One of them feels left out as each one of his group feels every girl's taken. But that's when Frankie, Mary and Lorraine have him see Francine. And one of them sings "what it takes so long to see the light". Nearing the end, the young group does a rap (since never added in the movie) about the Four Seasons. After that, the group leaves the stage, leaving the whole Jersey Boys cast standing and posing.
He did "cameo". When Bob Gaudio is in the bedroom during the party scene, he's watching Rawhide I believe. Eastwood is on screen for about a second or two.

Daniel Stack funny I just watched it last weekend ! I never saw the staged version
I agree especially with the stage alumni involved
Daniel Stack I actually like them both equally but I can see why. The storytelling needed a bit more energy.

Love it , watch it over and over again. Great work
What a great way to end a movie with the credits.
The last time I saw something like on the big screen was the Aladdin remake. I hope In the Heights does something like this too.
“Sherry” was the first record I owned as a young child! (Goosebumps!!!)

Now little quirk. Pesci's cigarette moves instantaneously from his mouth to his right hand at 1:00
Very good casting with reference to a young Joe Pesci.
There’s a split second where he changes hands but you have to keep your eyes peeled
