#DoctorWho - Krátké a kreslené filmy
The original looks a bit more accurate but dang there's something gorgeous about this new version, just looks so clean and bright and lovely!
Apart from the oval on the midsection I’d say the original is far more accurate when it comes to colour and the red ring on the eyestalk but I have to agree with you the new look is so clean
Something seems very off about this year’s B&M sets. Probably budget cuts but the decisions made in a few of these are very strange- the blister packaging, the reused 10th doctor figures and the lack of new articulation on said figures
The world got shut down, look up the book “Covid 19 and the Great Reset” By Klaus Schwab.
It’s all planned.
The worst bit is a 10th Doctor figure prototype got leaked on Ebay with ball joint articulation on the arms, elbow joints and a new mould for the suit and coat... disappointed
They've put the price up whilst ditching the diorama. Giving us less whilst charging us more.
@@johnpanter9714 You mean just like everything else you buy currently - went grocery shopping yesterday & everything is smaller in size & 10% more expensive - it’s called inflation

You are right, the original Planet Supreme figure's gold is almost entirely spot on terms of not just being a more vibrant gold but the flat look to it as compared compared to the sheen of the new one, almost feels like the new Day Gold/Planet Gold should've swapped over as least for the tones.
Whilst the silver on the eye torch is wrong, I must admit it does provide a much better definition to the white of the iris along with the thicker red edge on the front looks way more appealing for the same reason, the original is technically more accurate with it being inner red but as a toy it doesn't show up well enough.
I think the biggest improvement outside of them removing oval and new misted lamps is just how lovely that new gloss black finish is, unsure if our originals have just faded but this new one looks really solid there, will no doubt look great on the later gloss black Supremes of the 80s too!
The gold is more vibrant on screen and the eye stalk should be a more matte white compared to the silver on the new one as well as the white ring along with the red one is more accurate, since the red was embedded within the white outer ring on the original torch prop for the eye. Mixed bag of accuracy for this Supreme figure.
I definitely think the original supreme release was more accurate in terms of the colours.
@@scottmartin1876 I concur as well
I love the gold on the new one, looks much more like a modern dalek, almost like what it was meant to look like! The invisible one though I have zero interest in, at least it will hopefully dissuade army builders from gobbling them all up like the last two pack with a supreme - never even saw that on the shelves.
Thanks for the review! Of the four sets announced, this is the one that I am most looking forward to - they should look interesting and unique on display.
Love the addition of the bent slats on the Dalek Supreme. Small things like that are nice. Though I do prefer the Gold on the original.
They're not being eco friendly, they're simply saving costs.
The new gold is definitely too Bright, but the original is too dark. Needed something closer to the original but still brighter. The silver at the front of the torch should be the original white, with the red inside.
My old planet supreme dalek was not in great shape, I got him third-hand, his base was scratched horribly, he had a chipped slat at the front, and his lights were sunbleached to an orange colour, so a rerelease of this has been very welcome. I feel like the original colour scheme does look closer to how it looks on tv, though part of me wonders if that stronger yellow saturation might be a side effect of the videotape the episodes were shot on. I think, accuracy aside, I prefer the aesthetic of the paler gold, it looks a bit classier to me, though that is very much subjective taste.
Love the clear dalek, I have a big line of daleks on my top shelf and he looks so cool plopped in the middle of them
That actually sounds like it'd be really interesting to see, got any pictures of video or anything of your orange-lights Supreme?
I hope these sets are easier to find. I found set 6 just a few months back and am currently waiting for set 8 to be delivered. (that cost a pretty penny)
I dunno how to feel that Matt didn’t search high and low for months in b&m to find them ..
Great review as always, yeah the gold for the 2008 release is more screen correct as it had a more yellow tinge. I want to the invis dalek, missed out on the first 1. You are right the photo for the Invis Dalek at the Toy fair was meant to be part of the SFX range. It was in the Matt Smith toy Packaging.
For people complaining about the packaging Its mainly to do with the budget as CO have said so themselves. They aren't taking these choices lightly but cuts have to be made, as the budget for these figures has been greatly reduced due to the current climate. Thats why theres no artwork display, why no new sculpting. They just don't have the money at moment to do it, or they are saving it for maybe next year for the 60th. So people please stop bashing CO. The really sad truth is they way things are in this country cuts are having to be made, companies are also feeling the effects of the Cost of living crisis.
Also they are doing it to reduce plastic use and its a sneaky way of getting sales, as if you are a collector that wants to keep the box you will now have to buy 2, one to open and one to keep sealed. But that means more sales and maybe more money to go in the budget.
That invisible Dalek almost looks like an ice sculpture, so now I'm imagining it in the place of that frozen lady in The Snowmen
I've been having issues with my local B&Ms not stocking the dalek sets, are these new ones out now or have you got them early?
Speaking as an Autistic person I usually prefer certain colours so although the original release of gold is more accurate it’s to yellow for my taste. The white band on the eye stalk makes it feel cheap although the prop was but I think the new version makes it feel more in universe and the dome lights are a nice shade of purple.
The invisible dalek gives me a lot of hope that we will eventually be getting the glass dalek from Revelations!
I do worry that we won't get the skaro dalek from revelation if the glass dalek hogs a spot, we could lose the necros dalek so bit of a gamble
Glad you managed to get the new sets! Tbh the invisibility dalek is familiar to the Glass Dalek from revelation of the Daleks.
i thought thats what it was ment to be
Some way. Some how. I will find a way to acquire this set
Very disappointed in the packaging - so flimsy & easily damaged without the window, plus sticking the blister to the backing card - what the hell?!
They’re not doing it to be eco friendly, they’re doing it to cut costs. Hasbro is virtue signaling and acting like they’re doing the world a favor, when actually they’re just saving money by cutting costs on plastic for packaging. So I feel like CO might’ve taken a few notes from Hasbro this wave. Including all rereleases and Repaints that make little to no sense LOL.
@@waded4610 I think we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The packaging is a shame, but we’re yet to see another 7 or so sets later this year……they could be spectacular, new sculpts, new figures, things like that. We just don’t know. It makes sense to save the best stuff for last, so these sets being more of a let down was probably expected.
@@therestorationofdrwho1865 Nah Dude, b&m cut budgets on all fronts including the DW toyline budget. Pair that up with the pandemic/inflation and you have a recipe for disaster. Seems CO can’t catch a break. So don’t be expecting anything groundbreaking in the next year or so until Season 14 rolls around.
@@waded4610
Again, you don’t know what a lot of their budget has been poured into this time.
Can we not just wait to see the next sets? This is jumping the gun and assuming a lot.
@@therestorationofdrwho1865 I can tell you for certain where most of the budget likely went to, and the results are rather disappointing. Care to know?
I was the hoping the supreme daleks eye stalk and the gun would be like the on screen prop. That being the ears and eye stalk with batteries like the pyramids of Mars sutekh.
it's great set and review as always hope i get them 😀
This Dalek was the very first classic figure I've gotten, way back in 2008 or 2009, loose.
They could use the Dalek as the glass Dalek from Revelations of the Daleks
It’s wonderful that the Supreme Dalek has finally returned and I kind off knew that he would, also the Invisible Dalek looks like a Ghost Dalek. Lol!
perhaps its the ghost of the one that got pushed out of a wearhouse window in the 80s/90s
@@gdeproductions1225 You mean Resurrection of the Daleks, yes I remember that one and it could be. By the way I think that would make a great story line about a Dalek Ghost.

If everyone want's to know why there has been lack of stuff for dalek sets and other sets this year, its because they are running low on budget, so they have had to make budget cuts. If you want to know more information about this, check out Captainjimipie's reviews of these sets since he was told by character options all the reasons why the sets are coming out like they are.
Hiya
My step son has some how lost the gun on the invisible one.
Does anyone know any details I can contact for a spare / replacement ?
Matt, how an earth do you have space for all your figures AND boxes?
I think the gold they used on the new one better suits the Day Supreme
I dont like this new packaging. I'm really worried it will cuase damage to the figures, when being bashed about in storage. Is it character being cheep, or being Woke? And in terms of the supreme Dalek, I massively profer the original. May have to track down another Dalek collectors set #1
What do you mean by "woke"?
@@Daniel_Rawlings it's just an easier way of saying jumping on political trends like less plastic. Even though most people will probably throw these boxes away because you can't reuse them. So they'll fill and land fill more than the original boxes would.
Can't wait to pay what is equivalent to 60£ to get this in the USA. They do look fantastic so maybe it'll be worth it.
Very weird seeing the original with a white band. My figure came with sloppy read pain all over it, to the point as a child i pretended some anti dalek resistance shot him in the eye, as there was a perfect bullet hole shape amongst the other red. I always thought it was accurate to the prop, but now i know it was just an error, still, gives reason to keep the original. :)
I don't keep box's so I'm OK but no backdrop need to print something. be another set I'll never see
Is anyone else whos got the original invis dalek gonna make the new one a necros glass dalek?
i actually hope this doesn't get re released in the revelation set or the necros one, the skaro dalek hasn't had a re release and im kinda anxious to see it again, we could lose the necros or glass one tbh
2:36 I would happily watch a 20 minute Dalek 63.88 vid on what his opinion is on the colour change😂😂😂
Wait, all electronics were transparent when you were growing up? Did you live in a prison?
The picture of the transparent TV just reminded me of a great Techmoan video where he showed off a bunch of prison safe electronics.
Transparent electronics were a pretty common trend late 90s early 2000s
The gold on the original supreme is more accurate, also I think the mesh and slats are a new mould.
Doctor who history of. The daleks. 9. Review. Planet of. The. Daleks.
I perfer the new gold as its looks more modern like it was redesigned for the time war
Cool 😎👍💙👏⭐️🤩
Thr original supereme.
Dalek is like rocking horse shit. You juts can't get him! I got my one first hand some years ago.
As soon as I saw the announcement, the first thought I had was;
"Oh, I wonder what Matt's gonna say about this."
I wish we could just get accurate figures. Is that so much to ask for? 😪
Very cheap packaging compare to the other Dalek sets. Disappointing
