Philip, you and your talented son have brought about a new era in art appreciation. Down to earth, approachable and reasonable in content, your show is on my "must see' list when I talk to people who just aren't sure about the whole 'art' world. BRAVO!

Thank you once again for this program. You both do a fantastic job. Something really special is you include the ordinary person and the artist who are not well known, and this makes thig very human and very understandable. Greetings from Melbourne, Australia.

@@miekeharinck500 He was from Northern Ireland. When I met him he was elderly, I had no idea who he was. He told me he had a gallery in the city ( Dublin), that I should go have a look (Oriel) The gallery is still there and sells some of his paintings still. Recently I got talking to a man outside his house, near the city centre, he told me that Markey had been his next-door neighbour - he was invited inside one day - Markey had several easels set up in his bathroom, he sat on a stool and painted there. The main auction houses regularly have his paintings in their catalogue.

I had a similar reaction that some people coordinated well with their paintings. And if one could see their pets, would there be a match as well? Surprised that a 40 quid painting hung on the wall. All goes to buying what you like.

I wonder if modernism was fueled by the development of photography... why paint for realism when a photo can be made? So, artists reacted by producing images the photography couldn’t do?
