Hoping you can clear this up Ben, there is a rumor going about that while chasing a suspect you leaped over a garden fence and landed on the back of a goat, word is that goat bucked for all it was worth but you held on for a solid 10 seconds.., is that true?

      Great advice mate.
Like many of us who follow Ben I suffer from PTSD which can manifest itself in horrific anxiety attacks.
It's not helped by the fact that I have stressed induced epilepsy, so the actual daily anxiety of becoming "too anxious" can be overwhelming!
The breathing exercises taught by my counsellor have saved me from completely crashing. Something so simple we take for granted and barely think about, yet learning when to actively think about it and do it properly has had a profound impact on my day to day life.

Great start ahaha he found it funny luckily as he knew i was new and made me aware of how i should address such as PC being staff and anyone above SGT being sir/maam. Really enjoying the training and the police staff, PC's, SGT's, Trainers etc are absolutely fantastic.

Pro Tip for you Dominic... When wandering around the nick etc and encounter anyone in plain clothes, or in uniform but with their epaulettes covered, just address them a "Boss" or "Chief" as both are acceptable terms to address seniour ranks, and both are used to address just about anybody including your mates i.e "Morning Chief, how's tricks?"

the question about the justice system and sentencing is something i feel super strongly about. In my local area a pair of blokes got caught smuggling drugs, they got 11 years. Drunk driver crashes into broken down car and kills a 15 year old kid, 7 years. like my mind cannot fathom how you can get behind the wheel of a car drunk, kill someone and still get less time than a drugs offense.

It's interesting hearing Ben talk about happy times such as locating missing children. We humans are odd things and it's strange how trauma works, how we seem to be instinctively more effected long-term emotionally by negative things than we are happier things. You would like to think, for someone like Ben, it would be things like locating a missing 4 year old which really stay with you, so much so that it over-rides all the more horrific situations, but it always seems to be the other way around.

11:40... I think of speed limits as safety zones:
20= high likelihood of having to do an emergency stop (hence why are trained to do them during driving lessons and the test in 20zones only) - defensive driving
30=medium to high likelyhood of having to slow or stop - defensive driving
40= medium to low risk of stopping - defensive driving
50= low to no footfall and/or risk of the roadlayout - defensive driving
NSA= real driving, 60/70mph unless hazards (i.e. corners, junctions, blind dips and summits, other traffic) - progressive driving

In Victoria, it used to be the case that the disposal of drug exhibits was contracted to a company called Cleanaway, with oversight from a pair of senior police officers. Allegedly, one of the Cleanaway staff tossed some meth precursor chemicals into the incinerator whilst not paying attention, and the resultant explosion blew the whole side out of it, putting it out of action for weeks. I don't know if Cleanaway still has the contract!

Saw a guy on Road Wars a few years back blow 154 and was relatively coherent, not stumbling at all. The officer involved were in shock!

Just watched the episode again where yourself and B Ben were worrying together. B Ben said he had to work with you for punishment. I laughed so hard. I agree with you, a set prison time should always be served. If they don't behave then time is added.

Hi Ben. I used to watch you and your teem every night when you were on. Because of that I'm 16 and taking public services in college wanting to eventually be a police officer. Is there any tips you would give that would make me stand out amongst the crowd?? Thank you for being an inspiration. Keep up the videos.

Hey. My advice be yourself think outside the box with any answers you give. Think of professional experience (school and education ect and also home experience. Such as friends and family situations.
Dosnt need to be huge and out of the box situation just something that demonstrates your abilities. Also joining specials is always a great way to gain some experience

An old Sgt I know used to say when writing tickets that "they'll run out of money before I run out of ink". So yeah the pen is a great piece of kit.
