    If you want reverse check out Polaris atv transmissions. That would give you high low and reverse. I've seen motorcycle engine buggies running them. Your cvt secondary might even bolt right on.

      The real reason why those are there is because of the suspension style we used. With a 3 link suspension the shock has to move in 2 planes rather than 1 like it would with A arms. So they were used to attach heim joints to the ends. Some shocks will have them build in but these didn't.

    Rather than running the engine in reverse flip the jugs around on the case and run it correctly just with the exhaust in the rear and carbs in the front.
    It won't work very well trying to run it in reverse all the time. Power and speed is limited in reverse to keep people from getting out of control and crashing or hurting themselves.

    • @jdsgarage701
      @jdsgarage701  Před 2 lety +1

      We have also considered this as well. But on some engines this can't be done as the jugs physicaly can't be reversed because they won't fit backwards. If we were to run the engine in reverse we would flip the forward and reverse ignition timing around. Still trying to figure out the best solution on this.

    • @snakerstran9101
      @snakerstran9101 Před 2 lety

      That's a challenge for sure. By the way, Polaris went to a electronic engine reverse as well, late 90's. The secondary isn't symmetrical for forward/reverse either. Or the chain case tensioner. Can't recall if the brake is designed bidirectional. Maybe those aren't changed?

    • @jdsgarage701

      Works perfectly fine. You have to remember the engine was in an enclosed area with the exhaust pipe and limited air flow. Now it's out in the open and has increased air flow. It's also jetted a little rich to help with it. It's been ran in 95° heat for 2 hours and never had an issue.

    • @jdsgarage701
      @jdsgarage701  Před 2 lety

      Yes the 3d printed parts for the plasma table are available on our website. Regarding the sway bar, it's added complexity that didn't need to be there. Sway bars for the most part are unnecessary especially for offroad builds where body roll is less of an issue. It's much more important to have your wheels be able to move more than 3" independent of each other. Rather than try to eliminate body roll that probably doesn't exist.
