*You can also turn the knob on top of the mast.* Looking forward to viewer thoughts about the entire 1700+ piece set!
It's a little sad that you have to disclaim this knowing exactly what the commenters are like
Its interesting to see all the different versions of Destiny's bounty. Its the "same" ship, but its always different. Honestly the land bounty was my favorite version. The movie versiom was a close second.
Final Flight and the Legacy versions for me are the best but with this Race Against Time bounty it combines both.
My favorite version is the submarine one
I like the different versions as well!
I think it is a good play set, but not as good as the legacy bounty. I wish they had included a cover for the area in the front when the dragon isn’t there
I kinda wish there were extra pieces for the front deck when the dragon is not in there; but it's not too bad for me
I kinda like the boxy internal structure. Gives it a "futuristic vehicle merely decorated to look like a historical one" vibe.
It looks to be quite huge but with the narrow waist, open front deck and tiny rear cabin, not a whole lot is actually done with the giant footprint. To pay the same price as a modular building from a couple years ago is asking a bit much, I'd say.
Visually though I absolutely love it, it looks so slick!
Honestly I was surprised we didn't get a Soara dragon in any way but then I took a closer look at my Bounty and realized that the dragon looked like Soara.
I really like the slim middle, it makes it feel less uniform than a standard ship shape. The colours are great. The interior space is not bad, but I don't like that the characters can't stand up. That really limits the different poses you can leave them in. I really like the sail and how it is angled.
The dragon becoming part of the ship is a really smart idea and I'm glad they did it. However, the ship shouldn't look bare without the dragon, and I feel like even 1 extra plate piece could have filled that gap.
Before seeing the price, I guessed this would be about 100. Damn, I was way off.
Edit: I must say this set lacks features considering its size. The compass and the telescope are cool little details that you can mess with, I like that, but there's virtually no more examples. The anchors could have been on chains and could have been droppable. There could have been trapdoors, items that launch or move, etc.
In one hand I really like what they did with whole back section.
But the front being as empty as it is is horrible. The Dragon build is solid but I wish it had a propper head mold, I already hate that piece with eyes on it - looks extremely hard to use.
Great set, thank you for your time my dude, your videos are a joy to watch
To this day, I still think the Ninjago Movie version (the biggest one) is the best.
It looks great on display AND it makes for a great toy for kids.
The Ninjas are very creative with their naming. I’ve never seen enough of the shower, but I picture the ship being remade each time. If it uses the same parts, then it’s technically always going to be the Destiny’s Bounty.
Yessss! I have been waiting for this review since the set released.
I'll be 'That Guy' and asks if it floats.
The Dragon floats but not the boat...
I figure the giant hole in the hull points to “probably not” lol
The boat definitely not. Brick built boats don't float. It'd need to be one of those pre-made boat hulls that Lego makes for that purpose.
It does not float, but it flies
Jang I’ve loved watching your reviews since I can remember! I always loved watching you give Lego Star Wars reviews since 2014! Keep it up man 👍
I like the look of the bounty in dragon rising so far but the LEGO set itself compromises the space availability due to the dragon space in front. So this is probably one I’ll end up skipping.
Great review as always and I actually laughed at that title when i got there. Good and funny way to include a PSA
The Movie Bounty is still peak Bounty Design.
I do like it as it's essentially the perfect combination of The Final Flight set from Possession and The Legacy Bounty sets. And as i don't have the Core Wu Minifigure he'll be exclusive to me, and the minifigure selection overall is pretty good especially since i'm only getting this along with the temple and the hound sets. The mechanism is somewhat of a let down being so simple i would have expected the engines to turn as well but, i like the print on the sails slightly making up for it, I'd get it but on discount to around £110-90.
The Space is there however the dragon feature really takes away from the interior if you could swap some sort of dojo area and put the dragon in it's place would have been a whole lot better
If I'm not as invested in marvel and star wars I'd definitely buy this eventhough I never watched a single episode of the entire franchise.
you can have minifigures standing up at the chalk board because there aren't any smaller plates holding the roof together at the sides
As someone who doesn’t have a Bounty, I think I might get this! Nice review
It almost feels like the initial idea was for the front part to slide down that that middle section "shaft" to form a more compact ship when the dragon is not there, but it did not work out.. Maybe someone will mod it one day, but I am firmly passing on this one. Will maybe buy another used Hydro Bounty instead and try to make a proper large one with 2x width :)
This ship reminds me of something off treasure planet and I love it for that
I feel like this one represents nicely this new era of Ninjago
This is an awesome set
I don't like how hollow the front is without the dragon
It is pretty expensive also
I might have to pick this one up. It looks great!
The price of this is less of a problem here it seems, even if it's a touch high.
There are some details that do I have to nitpick about. Obviously the bow section having such a large empty void disappointing; I know why it's done that way, but it's finnicky and reduces the overall amount of usable space. There's also quite a bit of lost usable space around the sides and back of the cabin; actually, the back is reasonable but the sides are so awkwardly narrow. And I realised there's no trap door or something to get to the lower sleeping and gaming cabin.
Looks great though, but with quirks.
This destiny's bounty is a Flintstones car for dragons
Wow, this thing is missing so much deck space. The ninjas can't walk from the bow to the stern without literally jumping over the wheel.
Here in The Netherlands you can get this set now for EUR 112,49 which is a very reasonable price.
I like the longer, Galleon-like build, but the fact that it costs the same as the Movie Bounty just Kills it for me
The interior is nice, but the external is a bit... Monochromatic? Just a bit too plain. I feel like the could have added some dark red highlights to spice it up, especially with how the segmented build would allow for it.
I'm not a full on Ninjago collector but this set is 50/50 to me for the following cons:
-Lack of hairpieces
-Inability for minifigures to stand in lower deck
-Lack of detail in top cabin
-Hollow space at front which should have had a removable platform, for dragon absence and extra deck
-At least $20 less in US
great video buddy
This set is going to be a must buy for me
Somehow It became my favourite destiny's bounty set, probably because of bright colours and excellent interior. Personally I cant spot any flaws here, which were pretty common in other bounties. Of course, I cannot compare it to Legacy one, which I really want, but did not manage to get. Overall I believe it is the best or at least second best bounty set which I am picking up for sure and recommend to follow my decision to others, who may be on a fence with this one. Also the rotating jet boosters are so clean :) I am from Lithuanian, and prices are way cheaper here, for instance, this is just 105 euros!
Yeah, I git this set becomes of e Buick and mini figs but yeah, the hairpieces for Arin and Sora would of been nice to have Internet bigge steel and the price? Should’ve been 130-140 then160.
The Galaxy Explorer was $100. What a masterpiece
Question for the people who already build this set: is it posibe to leave the smal middlepart easely? And just connect the 2 red sections toether?? Jyst wonering. 😄
The Lukes Landspeeder of Ninjago
Got a question? How do I fix the second compartment of the ship because it won’t stick completely.
They shold make a legacy of the snake train that they cancelled
Great video! Thanks!
I got it for 50% I think it’s nice, modern, sleek, and cool
Hey JANG, I still have the 1st two Bountys boxed and i did get the movie bounty but sold it to a friend who wanted itdespsrately, i wont not mind trying to get this, i think its $270nzd. How nice it would be to have a Lego store under 900KM away for a Minifig wall.
Amazing set awsome review
I’ll buy it on sale. We have all the Destiny Bounty variants. They each have their goods and bads but we like em all!
I disagree with JANG about the dragon looking awkward as if trapped. I actually think it looks quite comfortable. It kind of reminds me of a dog enjoying a car ride with its head out the window.
thank you
that’s a lot of telephones
How many times are they gonna remake this set
until Ninjago stops selling
Call me a 2011 purist, but he’ll always be “Sensei Wu” to me. “Master” doesn’t have the same gravitas, but LEGO *really* wants to appease China… reminds me of the rare English ADR of the first live-action TMNT movie for certain Asian territories that replaced “ninja” with “combat”, “Japan” with “Korea,” and modified the names of the flashback characters. Just surprised that “Master Wu” wasn’t just done as a regional localization change but changed the global name.
Price seems decent enough and it looks like a decent Bounty. Probably won’t pick it up but there’s enough to praise the set for. We really need a mold of Sora’s ponytail with the cat ears; I don’t like reusing the Monkie Kid hair in coral, but perhaps she’s used that hairstyle in the show and I just haven’t seen enough of it.
Yeah me too i even learned that word thru ninjago as kid he always was just sensei to me, but master maybe fits more cause now they are not traditional Ninjas and master can be used for just someone experienced
Bruh why is there a random hole in the front
it's pretty long, online/box pics doesn't show it well I would say.
This looks pretty nice! Lots of detail and places to put figures, as it should be, LEGO! 😠
Mehstiny's Bounty
the middle part is just soooooooooooo so bad man, how the heck are the figs supposed to get to the bow of the ship??? What a strange design choice. Ugh
Moist
I feel like this is kind of a let down... A too simplistic design in my opinion while they could have gone back to more detailing as we saw with the movie's bounty.
That's one ugly vessel design.
