The "grappling hook" piece instantly reminded me of Onewa Metru's weapons. Love to see new, weird moulds.
This, alongside Zane’s Spinjitzu car, are the only sets I’m getting from Dragons Rising. New characters + some of the new baddies + dope vehicle designs.
honestly, if you could only get one set from this wave, get this one. it’s got all three new protagonists, an important villain, and a vehicle/mech build that’s like almost nothing we’ve seen before. the last time we got sets that transformed this good was alpha team deep freeze, and it’s just a rad gimmick and really fun to flick back and forth between modes.

I'm happy for the kids and people who are into Ninjago theme, they get the coolest sets with reasonable prices.
I have not watched any Ninjago, but I saw a motorcycle-ish transforming mech and wanted it, as I like Mospeada designs. It just seems fun. Bought it before I watched this, but I sometimes watch the reviews after just for the entertainment factor.

The shape of the mech is funky and so are the colors! Really cool. Interesting that the extended ball joint on a bar and Pin connection part has so much friction!

The ball joints make me wish those parts existed back during the Exo-Force days, but this set gives WipEouT vibes when it’s in bike form

This & Zane’s race car are my favorites from this wave! They look so good with my other sets on my shelf & have really nice playability as well!
this set easily caught my attention. the colour scheme, the cyberpunk vibe and the fig collection of all new and prominent characters. imo it's my favourite set of the wave. I've grown tired of the same colour schemes vehicles and how many dragons for Ninjago so this feels very fresh to me. looks great on display too can't lie.
The grappling hook “whip axe” reminds me of the weapon used in the Predator movie “Prey,” I like it!
The main body and cat ears/wings remind me of Exo-Force so I'm automatically a fan of this. Might jus have to snag one of these, maybe bricklink Sora's hair because it is indeed glorious.

I don't like the color scheme quite as much as JANG, but it's not bad. Also the gap in the windscreen doesn't bother me at all. It's definitely a great set though.

This was sold out at my local Lego Shop when I went to go check out the new line. As soon as I saw it in stock I ran to grab it, best snap purchase I've made in a while. Tons of fun and definitely a fantastic looking and playing mech. This season has been very solid, especially on the mechs side of things!
Inflation is a fact, yes. It is also true that some companies are using it as an excuse to raise prices past inflation, so I think it's fair for some LEGO fans to be skeptical about price hikes... but I agree with your general impression of "volume of stuff." I'm always grateful to hear you talking about VALUE in general, rather than just arbitrary Price to Part ratios.
this set has given me Dva vibes since it was first revealed. Thankfully, it looks good next to that mech on my shelf!

I love this set. I don't own it, but since I first saw it I knew i would love to own it. Thankfully, a year later, it's still available. Will definitely be adding to my collection sooner than later.
Right now there are exclusive variants of Sora and Arin available at lego store build a minifigure stations, so there's at least one way to affordably get their hair pieces, but there is still no widely available way to get them
Liking the look of the new wave. Im get this go with the bigger mechs. The dragons are kinda neat, go well with the one i call the puppy dawg dragon

That tiny dragon is awesome! Hope Lego make more dragon stuff, a monster Hunter theme would be amazing.

I wondering how the bike will look if you keep the blades on the arms and flip it backwards as an alternate transformation 🤔
I'm just gonna come right out and say it.
I have no idea what is going on with this season. At all.
But this kind of set and transforming vehicle mech NEEDS to become it's iwn series. Or at least release this same version of this set with other colors, color combinations, detailing, and accessories for other characters. Definitely getting this set at some point.
Also it's a Navy Blue and Coral Pink and gold accented robot that transforms into a Motorcycle.
Those of you who are fans of Transformers with Prime in particular, yeah this is perfect.
I read it as a grappling hook immediately but I also just love grappling hooks so I may have had a starting bias towards seeing it as one. Really excited to get it and put it on that clear 1x1 with a bar handle for my own figures!
One thing is for certain...this Lego set definitely exists! That's right I said it! There's no stopping me now....nope it's already done! There is no turning back the hands of time that it took you to read this! There's nothing you can do about it either!

ordering this now finally after waiting a year. well worth the build cost.
I painstakingly rebuilt the legs with the studs facing out only to see why the designer chose to do it this way. It won't lean forward enough, oddly.

At least with context from the show, the Glass Panel being placed the way it does would probably bother me a lot more. Otherwise this set is a Perfect set to get for the All new Heroes (even tho its a lil more expensive still good)
Really cool concept will definitely keep that style in my alternative mech build for sure(I typically make/add on to Ninjagos mechs)
I really need me a transforming Lego Veritech fighter using these colors.
Took me a while to parse that title - I was seeing non-existent bracelets and reading it as (x + y)/(a+b), which results in the set getting better with less coral. Which made no sense.
That's on me, though, not you. I see now that I should have read that as x + y/a + b, where y/a is Robotech divided by Macross. I think Robotech is twice as good as Macross due to MOSPEADA, so y/a = 2.
So the set is Akira + 2 + coral. Got it.

If this was 49.99 I wouldn’t consider buying it, but with a price of 47.99 it is a must buy! Is how Lego thinks we will react when they priced this 😂

Amazing colours and interesting parts in this one, but I'm pretty unimpressed by the design and gimmick. Alpha Team had better transformation gimmicks!
With a bit of DIY redesigning it could be really special though.

Who is Sora? I haven't seen the last few seasons so I'm not familiar with any of the new characters.
I heard they were rebooting the series and adding new characters.
The sticker near the ankles look like a sad gorilla
I like this set, but I still feel like we were robbed from the show. The show version just looked 20 times more cool and this model falls flat, mainly due to the stability needs for a toy.
They can’t keep getting away with these awful non moving knees.

Idk what it is but something about this set just doesnt work for me. I think it might be just how stubby the arms are so they can't really reach anything cause the cockpit is in the way.
I don't know if it's just not coming across well on camera but the silhouette of the bike/racer mode looks a bit of mess. The mech looks fantastic though and I really like the new ninjas.
This feels very exo-force to me.
Jang love your reviews but I’ve gotta say I’m disappointed in the transformations in this series. Lego have done better in the past and these just feel a little uninspired. Like the idea of flipping the dragon over is really cool but there’s basically no play value in that; or this one that you just move the legs back and it has transformed. It doesn’t really feel like the designers are trying hard enough
I bet that's the stability issue, but honestly, shoulder pads and the flags kinda fix some issues, it really just looks utilitarian
