What a player Bally was - at Everton we adored him - - sometimes if we had a free kick he would shove the ball up the back of his shirt then stare at the referee moaning and shouting stern faced "were's the ball ref"! ?- his back would face the crowd with the ball stuck up his shirt so we could see it , but not the ref - - -the ref would then run off and return with a new ball - only to find the first one was back - so we then had two - - -lol - - - so funny - - -he did that a lot - - happy days as they say - - - god bless him - - -

Saw Alan play regularly in his first spell at Blackpool .What a talent he was at 18 and he matured into becoming a great midfielder who made and scored plenty of goals.

Alan pushed the ball thru to aging Maestro, Stanley Matthews and it bypassed the defender but Stan said "I want it to my feet!" to which 17 year old replied, "When I say Go then GO !!!!!!!!!!!"...Lol

When Alan Ball played for whitecaps for the cup final all the players were introduced and ran through a giant ball to run on to the pitch , Ball walked through 😂 it was awesome. Here to play not wasting any energy lol. Another whitecaps game in our version of a penalty shot shootout where you dribbled in and had to score with 5 seconds on the clock Willie had scored his attempt where as his old teammate on opposing team missed and Willie bent over and gave his buddy a bare ass . Red card and suspended. We saw him in the concourse next home game and I got to get his autograph! 8 years old he was my idol 😁

I know a story about Willie Johnston.
He played for Scotland in their opening game of the 1978 World cup against Peru. Despite the players being asked beforehand if they took anything, Willie said nothing, and gubbed a couple of Reactivan tablets. Willie was chosen to take a drugs test after the game, failed it, and was sent home in disgrace.
    Oh how we laughed!

@@alanquinn2542 If that question was directed at me, I wasn't supporting Ireland. I was supporting Scotland.
Johnston's cheating could have led to Scotland being eliminated from the tournament, if we had been good enough to beat Peru.
