Hi Paul, thanks for sharing your dietary regime. Do you drink alcohol? If so, is it just a couple of beers on a weekend night or are you tee total. Best regards from Liverpool, England
He hit it right at the opening ... mindset. Also, it's your beliefs. I'm 69 and I don't think of myself as old. I SEE myself as young; always have. I box, do MMA, swim, climb, lift, run, cycle on my racing bike, ... I just dropped 20 pounds in three months. I'm currently at 180 and headed for 175 and I might go to 172 where I should be totally sliced and diced. I'll be doing a vid on my experience.
@@na-dk9vm Absolutely, I have a video coming with a detailed account of my weight loss experience. Check in with my channel; I hope to have it up by the end of this week.
I’m 51 yrs old and stay shredded 365 days a year. Less than 10% body fat and plenty of lean muscle. I like your plan. It’s basically what I do. And have been doing for many years. I do stretch morning and night. Cold showers every morning. I am ripped!!! I love your channel!
@@TheJaxsonjack I am a 72 years old woman who has been working out and taking cold showers almost every day. Cold showers improve circulation for one thing. I LOVE THEM! You will feel more energetic and strong! Try it!
Thanks Paul, Brain cancer changed the way I eat too. I was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer just after turning 33. I was told I had a 25% chance of living 5 years.....I am now 52, nutrition saved my life. Keep up the great work!!!
I'm 60, had 3 ❤️ attacks 2021-23, 6'2" 220, lost 40lbs fasting a lot, restricted caloric intake I'm thinking of trying to work out, you are an inspiration, if I die, I'll die trying.
Can't believe you're 5'8" and only 170. From your vids I figured you were 6' and 210! Love your vids. I'm 62, been a workout guy my whole life and love your practical advice and workout routines. Thank you!
Paul is bang on! Stop counting your calories. East clean as much as you can and if you have a day here and there where your going out with your buddies and having a few drinks so be it. Don't let it mess with your head. Your body is a machine and it will self regulate itself as long as your consistent in your workouts etc. Eat good food and exercise on a regular basis and enjoy life. That positive energy will keep your body and mind healthy.
I totally agree with you about counting calories. If someone is needing to lose weight, then increased activity and "knowing" about calories is important. A person who is overweight has consumed more calories than they are burning....a simple concept, not factoring in other possibilities. I like how you said "intuitive" when it comes to calories and what you consume. If you know an apple is better than a bag of chips, you are on the right track! Good stuff!
I'm 51 and getting in the best shape of my life. It's the same routine every day (train, eat, sleep repeat) , but consistency is the key! Totally agree with your comment. :)
So happy to have found your channel! 54 years old and looking to improve my health. I’m around 15% BF and goal is 10%. I appreciate your clear messaging and instructions. Thx!
I've had this mind set for almost all my life. I've been working out for over 45 years. I'm 69 now and my videos show how I've kept my physique for my whole life. I try to never get out of a 5 lb. positive or negative range. If I'm out of range I eat less or eat more to get back. 5lbs is easily controllable for me.
Was hoping to get a video from you like this and it's what I expected. Honest, simple, and what works best for you. There is a lot of garbage and clickbait out there. Thanks for keeping it real Paul! You are the reason I use Transparent Labs.

Dude this is one of the best videos I’ve seen. Thank you so much. I’m 46, thin build and athletic all my life. My problem was alcohol and weed. I work for a cannabis company and grew up in a real hometown type city where you drink young and at every occasion. When I say occasion I really mean every day. This mixed with terrible eating habits had me looking and feeling like a disaster. Disgusted at myself and my wifes condition I decided I had to lead by example. Stopped drinking and smoking weed. Started running and hitting the weights. My gut evaporated pretty quick and I got good habits going. Funny enough we have a similar diet. Gonna try your supplements. Appreciate the heck out of you man. Love your shorts and have incorporated some into my workouts. You’re an inspiration. Keep killin it.
Nailed it! I’m 61 and at 6’3” 177. My weight has not fluctuated more than 5 pounds since high school. I eat and think exactly as you do. Weigh yourself everyday and your weight cannot get away from you if you react properly.
Great video Paul. You seem like a really solid guy. I'm 67 (can't believe it) and have been lifting regularly since I was 22. I like your common-sense eating habits. For me, working out is the easy part. Eating healthy "consistently" is the challenge lol
Outstanding video. You just articulated my thoughts and feelings surrounding fitness and nutrition. You say “don’t let it add up.” I call it a form of debt. The more “debt” you take on, the harder it is to get out of it.
Thanks for the information and great content! The top podcast fitness influencers have never divulged all that info ( more worried about marketing I think ) I’m glad to find you on this platform
Great content man. You don’t talk like a scientist and I love that. You share what have worked for you, this could benefit many of us. I am 62 with a decent physique and great health. I have known many guys with a strong mind set that looked great, but it seems that their determination faded as their grew older. One should never stop exercising and eating well if wanting to live a long and healthy life. I hope that everyone who is listening and watching your videos gets motivated to do what works for them.
Paul, I have tried over and over again to be perfect in my diet/lifestyle choices and I always fail. To see that you don’t deprive yourself and you look and feel great is amazing. I have some changes to make.
Thanks for sharing Paul. Your nutrition is very similar to mine. I have oats, whey & blueberries. 3 large free range eggs on one slice of sourdough. 250g 0% fat Greek yogurt & half scoop whey sometimes with almonds or bit of granola (have this twice through the day). Dinner is chicken or beef with potatoes or rice and veg, tbsp olive oil. Snacks are 85% dark choc and two apples throughout the day :D
Appreciate the insight. I love that you started this video the right way, explaining the foundation of what and how you do it. After watching this it makes me want to hunker down even more. Like you said, this may not work for everyone as you have to find your own way.
Recent research has found bananas are a great food, but they're not good to add to a shake. There's something in them that blocks you from absorbing nutrients from other fruits, vegetables and foods. Their best eaten stand alone between these meals or shakes. You can look up studies by Dr. Rhonda Patrick and other well-known nutrition experts.
Love it complete honesty and no BS. I eat very similar and just lost 50lbs with 10 more to go before abs visible so good to know I'm on right track. I don't deny myself either but if I want sweets will usually eat them after a big leg day where I might have lifted 25,000lbs and I tend to ruck for 20-30 mins before to warmup so extra bad carbs aren't hurting me at all.
I'm always finding ways to tweak my fitness routine without hurting my joints. I've incorporated your bilateral and unilateral combo lifts to all my dumbell training, on both push and pull days.Don't have to use excessively heavy weights, since I'm achieving failure at the number 4 rep. Still lifting a bit heavy on compounds, but finishing with dumbells, single, single both, single single both both, single single both both both. What a great system! Thanks!!!!!
Iove it! I've adopted a similar lifestyle over the last year.. just constant conscious eating habits.. always thinking about what I'm putting into my body. Ive incorporated intermittent fasting (I enjoy skipping an early breakfast) and eat around noon typically. I don't cut out carbs completely, but I certainly don't overload on them. I avoid soft drinks and try to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Not over eating is probably the most important thing.
Great video. I am days away from 40 and have been hitting a diet that works for me and its about figuring it out and not over obsessing but, hold yourself accountable and do the work needed to be where YOU want to be. Thanks for the content 👊
Without even watching this video I can tell you the answer to what/how etc. he lives it. He lives fitness and intensity and commitment and drive and is an athlete and is a beast inside and out. Now I’ll listen to his explanation
Great Video! You are human..lol Appreciate the simplicity and honesty. Your DISCIPLINE (MINDSET) is extraordinary. Mindset is the first key for all and any success in life. Thanks 🙂
I am 51, 5'8. I was 10-12% at 185. I skipped your channel many times and I am glad that I decided to watch the whole video. Mindset, I lost that 3 years ago and that is why I am at 40% body fat. I am down from 213 and 200.4 this morning. First time that I am weighting my food.
Thank you, sir. All about the mind set is what I took from this. I'm training for my 70th and have been getting discouraged, mostly because of my inability to be disciplined with my diet. I'm 69 years old and have about 11 months to go. I've been road cycling and lifting for about the last 6 years or so. You've inspired my to battle on.... THANKS!
This makes the most sense to me tbh. I have went through many diets. None seemed maintainable. I even did 2 24+ days water only fasts, but that was to get rid of tonns of fat and reset my body and relationship with food(later realized this). But what works is being disciplined, and rarely irresponsible. We know what we should and shouldn't eat. It's not rocket science. But we need to do it, and to not give into cravings.
Only one person here asking this question??? So odd. I’m 54 and have been on TRT for 5years. No shame. It’s a hack you’re either good with or you’re not. I question the risk to benefit all the time. I too wish more guys were honest. IN MY OPINION, you can’t look like that at 51 without using absolutely every possible hack. My two cents… Thanks for asking!
He has said numerous times he doesn’t use it as he’s afraid of the effects. Man is 5’8” and around 170lbs so he is not big. He’s also shared his blood work and even Greg Deucette has said he believes he’s fully natural same with Dave from More Plates. You have to remember that genetics play a huge role as well as your consistency with working out and how disciplined you are. Have family and friends who do ranch work and net fishing and they are cut and functional muscles that the current crop of keyboard warriors would immediately jump into saying they are on gear.
Equally the best advise and mindset if have seen...Josh at Strengthside has similar views who I have been following for years , I never miss your videos now .. Great stuff.
I absolutely love this content, I couldn’t agree more. I love to hear I’m not the only person eating like this. At 42, I’m a little younger but I’m a bit over 195 same height, so I’ll be tracking to this content and Paul in general. Awesome stuff
Great video Paul. I enjoyed it. Trying to get my mindset right now and avoid the temptations I have to eat junk. Been really focusing on what I put in my body to get healthier and lose weight. My eyes have been opened as the majority of products contain harmful ingredients or junk. A lot are banned in other countries!!! When I finish the protein I'm using, I'm switching to Transparent Labs. Thanks and keep up the good work.
I've enjoyed your videos because you're all action, not a lot of talking. Here you do a lot of talking and I enjoyed it just as much. Like the straight talk without all the "Hollywood" trappings.
Thank you very much... I am a former athlete. I am 53 years old and I am returning to training after 15 years. You help me a lot. God bless you. Vilim from Croatia
thanks for the info! its great people can see that you can eat pretty normal food and not have to eliminate almost the entire food pyramid to stay healthy. some people will probably have a lot of trouble digesting what info is in this video (pardon the pun!)
Thanks for making this video Paul, lots of great info. I really hope that sometime in the futute you speak honestly about TRT, HGC and HGH use. It's great to talk about chicken and rice diets but the procurring cause of retaining significant muscle after 50 are the PED's.

I'm 40 and have hovered around 135-140 for most of my adult life. Currently, I basically fluctuate from 140-150. When I got up to 155, my stomach came out like crazy. My abs show between 140-145, but it's the sharpest around 135. Can I achieve a flat stomach with abs at 150?
I did that keto years ago. Since then I had 2 A/fib.snd my doctor was saying I have 20% clogged arteries. And at age of 47. I lost my optic nerve .all i have now is my prefer. But still go walking. Lift weights.
It is a lot harder to remove body fat, I have to do 36-48 hour fasts, which have been extremely effective in removing body fat. I have had to watch portions
My tip make most of your daily meals more protein based and cut right back on the carbs. More fish and chicken less red meats plenty of fruit and vegetables. It is very surprising how much we all over eat, you actually only need a fraction of the amount of food you consume daily. Quality over quantity. Plus drink a lot of pure natural water.
I hope you read this and reply. I really enjoy your videos and no nonsense approach on being fit and healthy. I'm 51 also as of September 2nd. I'm a truck driver and am on the road coast to Coast 2-3 months at a time. I bought some dumbbells to use in the truck. I also like the transparent labs products, but my question is, do you stack ? And what stack do you recommend? Thank you for your time.
Paul is just lucky. He trains hard but he has good genes. My dad was ripped like Bruce Lee until he died and he ate like a teenager and did not work out. Life is not fair!
I just found your CZcams channel. I checked out the biceps and tricep video, great video thank you. So glad you eat normal and not carnivore or any extreme diet.
Brilliant, I follow on Instagram, ended up here and got answer to many questions! Subbed to the channel obviously! 👍 I am conscious that your body is the fruit of a life of training, didn't happened overnight!!!! Thanks for the tips and motivation 🙏.
People need to understand this.. in order for you to have a physique, or be fit or be any type of athlete, you need years of hard work. Your body goes into autopilot once that is built from an early age. Don't over-think food too much if you are doing the right things at the correct times. For people that hardly do anything and that also start late in their lives... yes.. you gonna have to watch wtf you eat, simple. There is no magic pill nor any short cuts. Yes, sometimes genes play a factor but start early with your kids, work em right, work em hard, give em a chance to recover and you will see.. in between 20s to 60s they will have no issues if they continue and love what they do. Dont let thing be and accumulate just like he said.. because you are wasting time, you arent getting younger and you are building fat and getting out of shape. It will be harder to start anything when you are behind. Get ahead start and maintain. Fall in love with it. Its all mental believe you me.

How about your TRT cycle? I just wish people would be more honest about the "supplements they take." People deserve more honesty.
Thank you!
Listen to your body- best advice ever
I absolutely love this content, I couldn’t agree more. I love to hear I’m not the only person eating like this. At 42, I’m a little younger but I’m a bit over 195 same height, so I’ll be tracking to this content and Paul in general. Awesome stuff
Great logic, start to finish...I really like the common sense approach you have, really refreshing and makes perfect sense! Thank you
Thanks Paul
Been watching your videos for some time now and I love all your content.
Bless you man you're an inspiration 🙏 🙌
Your my hero now
1/4-1/2 cup oats. Scoop chocolate whey. 2tbs of peanut butter powder and some blue Berrys. My favorite breakfast/ pre work out
Great video Paul.
An honest, truly informational, and well-thought video.
Thank you. I like to keep it simple.
"The right mindset" "stuck" w/ him.
Glad to help. Keep going!
thanks for the info! its great people can see that you can eat pretty normal food and not have to eliminate almost the entire food pyramid to stay healthy. some people will probably have a lot of trouble digesting what info is in this video (pardon the pun!)
The best advice I have heard in a long time. I follow that mentality as well.
Been waiting on this video. Thanks Paul!
Of course!
Thanks for making this video Paul, lots of great info. I really hope that sometime in the futute you speak honestly about TRT, HGC and HGH use. It's great to talk about chicken and rice diets but the procurring cause of retaining significant muscle after 50 are the PED's.
THANK U FOR NOT BEING A SUCKER!!! I was watching the video and *Waiting waiting….(leo di caprio with 🍷 whistling and pointing…..) there it is there it is THE PLUG AND EVEN GOT HIS MUG ON THE TUB 😂😂😂😂😂 people u guy are such suckers it astounds me! HE WILL NOT ADMIT TO STEROID AND GEAR IF HE’S PROMOTING ‘LEGAL’ supps and yes HE’S ON THE BASIC STUFF*
@@jordanzinger3066Exactly!!!
This video made my freaking day because I almost have the same eating habits as this Spartan.
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I love you approach Paul. Real and to the point. Thank you
💪🏼💪🏼
Love this….totally honest and you know your body and what works. I am 62 and eat similar.
Greetings from Greece Paul . I absolute agree with you day in day out keep going brother !!! Thanks from a 44 year old Professional Coach and life athlete !!!
Greetings 🇬🇷 💪🏼
I'm 40 and have hovered around 135-140 for most of my adult life. Currently, I basically fluctuate from 140-150. When I got up to 155, my stomach came out like crazy. My abs show between 140-145, but it's the sharpest around 135. Can I achieve a flat stomach with abs at 150?
Paul, WOW again - you are an inspiration keep doing what you are doing. Thank you again.
I did that keto years ago. Since then I had 2 A/fib.snd my doctor was saying I have 20% clogged arteries. And at age of 47. I lost my optic nerve .all i have now is my prefer. But still go walking. Lift weights.
Love the mindset motivation. I totally agree with being mentally prepared and executing at a higher level will succeed
It is a lot harder to remove body fat, I have to do 36-48 hour fasts, which have been extremely effective in removing body fat. I have had to watch portions
Love grits. Grew up on them. Only have on occasion.
Bro that’s no super diet plan. You look great man I’m inspired. Thanks
Thanks for sharing Sir. I love the way you talk about eating and focusing on the body.. and the way you taking the foods for your body 😃
Like Your style.
It obviously works for You, keep working it.
Appreciate Your story.
Thank You!!
Awesome info!!! Thanks!!! 58 not obese but not cut...😢 love the positive realistic view very helpful!!!
Being simple, conscious and consistent, thats it.
Can you tell what PEDs you are taking to maintain those muscles?
@@_Sam62 is sarcasm you spew?
Are there really people who think this guy doesn't use peds? Come on man. He has great genetics and discipline for sure but also not shy of needles
@MaKer VI there certainly is hence the platform he's made out of bullshit
@@jeffp.6349 even if he use steroids he still look amazing!
Probably just a TRT dose of test
This has to be the best video I found!
I'm 52, got a physical demanding job plus a side hustle, I do innterminnent fasting everday,180 grams of protein. A day, healthy carbs healthy fats
Just turning 51 in two weeks just starting training now, never too late right.
crushed it! Thanks for the no BS version... Loved the moderate water and american cheese parts. Controversial to some, respected by me..
Damn I thought it was Hypertrophy coach hearing your voice lol, great video 👍
New fan from your channel! Love that mindset!
Welcome💪🏼
Brilliant, I follow on Instagram, ended up here and got answer to many questions! Subbed to the channel obviously! 👍
I am conscious that your body is the fruit of a life of training, didn't happened overnight!!!!
Its all mental believe you me.
great advice
Greetings from Albuquerque Sir. I struggled with sleep apnea and found Magnesium to be helpful. I know we’re not all the same, but just thought I’d share. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, all the best.
Hit the weights big fella!
Magnesium threonate is best for sleep
You have my vote.
MINDSET...There most number 1 important thing...
This dude is an all out jock!
So you don’t worry about carbs. I’ve recently went low carb not full keto at 55yrs and I’ve dropped a lot of body fat. Still more work to do tho!
I take the TL Lean pre workout, Intra and Hydrate during my workout, and TL's Whey Isolate Protein post workout...love 'em all. I've been taking a different company's Creatine Monohydrate, but will be switching to TL's Creatine HMB for my next purchase.
That's exactly what I do, first true Man on internet
Great vid. Appreciate the openness about your diet. Very helpful info. Tell me please - I have heard Creatine could cause hair loss. Is that nonsense??
Thanks for all the knowledge!🙏🏽
With kids I eat a lot of there leftovers too . Frozen Chicken tenders for sure got protein
