We just had a massive Hurricane bear down on Canada's East Coast, and Maine as well. Hurricane Fiona has done a lot of damage out there. I'm praying and hoping that you and yours are all safe and stay out of harms way with that inbound storm. I see videos where they use Mayan cichlids as bait for snook and the snook eat them almost immediately. I used to winter down there in Florida, from a long season of logging in southeastern Alaska. With a fellow logger every once in a while.
I got married and moved to her home state, so Scott went to Florida on his own. We were watching the progression of a hurricane arriving there from the Atlantic, and it looked pretty bad on the news. Scott called me, and he was camping on the beach down in the Keys, and calmly said, "it's a little windy".😂
Sometimes news sensationalizes serious weather. If it snows one inch here in western Washington, you'd think armageddon was starting.

In Lake County Florida we didn't get the full force of the hurricanes but we got some nasty storms , rain so hard you couldn't see the street and BOOMING lightening that seemed to strike every minute . In case you never heard Orlando ..told by meteorologist is the lightening capital in the US. I grew up in Oklahoma where we have had F4 , F5 and bigger tornadoes and Florida storms are almost as bad in Central Florida . I'm praying for you all...stay safe and let's hope this isn't a bad year for weather . PK

Once though, while asleep on a floating logging camp in southeast, the entire camp, (about 60 people) were rudely awakened at about 0200, by a KABOOM! And all we saw was a blinding flash at the same time. Wow. We were not expecting that. I bet everyone there still remembers it. c1987
I believe that Lakeland, Florida may be the Lightning Capital of Florida.The University of Florida has a Lightning Test Range somewhere down there because of the number of strikes there.

I'm in Tampa in Hillsborough county and we were nervous but we toughed it out. By the Grace of God, power stayed on and no damages. My heart breaks for those who lost their lives and homes during Hurricane Ian' I don't know how you can be by that waters edge knowing they're 2 gators near by. Don't you ever get nervous that one could be tracking your freshly caught fish during the release? Hope everyone is ok and you didn't have any losses or damages to your property. Watched this earlier today. Due to thinking about your weather, You, Kelly the Boys and all your pets, I come back. Something kind of old keeps popping up in my mind, as it was funny in the end. You were walking and talking after a Javelina hunt, and you made the comment, "Kelly doesn't do hunting, she's more of a conservationist." Didn't come together until later when she was out blow gun darting poisonous frogs. Same vid, she mentioned how excited it was with hunting season just weeks away.
