I admire how you have the confidence or motivation to always try new places. not only do you always try new spillways and locations, you'll drive the far distance to get there, knowing you might get skunked. It's what fishing truly all about. Too many people get hunkered down and only fish where they are going to catch. I feel like they miss out on so much adventure that way.
Bro. Back in the day. This dude used to walk down tiny creeks and somehow catch a bass or 2 out of a tiny puddle. Been watching his channel a long time. His editing has been on point since day one. He drifted more towards spillways with larger catches as his following grew. It’s crazy because I jumped on board early and watched it all happen. Let me tell you also, he’s been saying “see ya later buddy” since day one

Love it! Had me pumped up I will be heading up Big Bear CA tomorrow until Monday to fish! Lake was 17ft below capacity until this winter. It is now around six ft below! Should be great bass in the coves and trout in deeper water! Man I cant wait it’s been about a yr!

I used to fish for perch with worms using a long shank j hook with a red wool trailer whipped on. I would often catch fish that had missed the hook but got snared on the wool. Maybe worth giving a go for gar double the opportunity to snare one.
I live and fish in the 618 area. There are two rivers in my small county and countless creeks and spillways. I love your videos and use some of your tactics for my spots. My kids and I enjoy all your videos.
kaskakia is always good to fish. There's that one spillway like a mile from the Mississippi confluence that has monsters.

I have had some salmon spool me before. Went running up and down the river for 30 minutes. Ultra lights are so much fun to catch huge fish with. Makes it a definite challenge. 🎣

Thats the kind of spot I'd love to sit with a suspending hard swimbait and just extremely slowroll it back against the current, occasionally letting out a few feet of line so it drops back a little, like a struggling fish trying to make its way upstream. If that doesn't get a monster to bite i dont know what will

We used to always use yarn for salmon in Alaska. They mouth the bait and it gets caught in the teeth. Great way to catch nice ones.

You should really do a night fishing session. I've caught my biggest fish at night. The smart old predators tend to rest during the day and hunt at night. I think you could pull up a 50lb cat.
