All great tips, thank you. Have been a thrifter for 40 (of my 72) years, always with an eye for statement jackets, blazers or coats. I also love to see what is trending, as just one tweak can totally update a look. My best retirement discovery has been the sneaker, stylie footwear of which I have several, built for speed! Getting dressed is so much fun, mixing patterns and colours that work with my spring like colourway and hourglass shape which, by some miracle, I still seem to have! I guess the only trends I steer clear of are retro from any era I've worn before (aging) but am always happy to admire these on a new generation. Have been a sleeve "pusher upper" all my life!
I agree with everything you said! I would add that we all have a signature look. Mine is silk scarves or a pop of color, if not in my clothing, on my lips. Always.

I never understood the sneaker and dressy outfit combo until I moved from America to Europe. In America driving is the main transport so walking long distances isn’t common but in Europe we don’t have a car and walk everywhere so sneakers with any outfit became so functional and comfortable!
Oh I’d never thought about it being influenced by where you live/how you get around! That makes a lot of sense. I too started my sneaker journey in London when I would walk everywhere! Thanks for sharing 😍 x
I am not a big fan of sneakers with outfits, but I recently discovered how cute and edgy combat boots can be with some outfits! Never got it before. Still, unless I am doing a lot of walking or going to a place where my shoes could get dirty or ruined, I always opt for nicer footwear.
I stopped going to thrift/consignment shops bc the ones nearby stock mostly worn out items. Sometimes the best finds are in the highly curated (pricier) thrift stores. 2023 is the year I’ll re-discover thrifting.👜 👓
Great video! This past year I’ve been overhauling my style and going to the store trying on different things I wouldn’t normally try on and taking pictures!!! Has helped me really see what I like, what looks good. Etc.
Great tips! Making a Pinterest board with fashions you like is fun & helpful. Another fun board, for me is, called Elizabeth's Closet. This is where I pin outfits that I can make from pieces I own. This has reduced the number of fashion magazines I buy, per year, by 90%.

Isn't it the most comfortable dress and a lovely color ? I discovered this brand thanks to you. Most of my wardrobe was built slowly by shopping second hand first for quality items and I find that it's the best way to create a really unique wardrobe. I found great handbags on ThredUp: a brand new baguette brown handbag from DKNY from the 90's (when quality was better) and two Sandro Paris crossbody brand new handbags which are great quality. I also love to collect vintage silk scarves and wear them a lot. They always add a little something to any plain outfit.

I have been thinking about doing something about my jewellery for a while - I have all sorts of bits and bobs but only wear a small amount because I love these pieces… so I will be giving the rest away / donating etc to streamline. It’s time! And my hairdresser is coming over tomorrow so… I’m going for the chop (well, 3 inches!). Wish me luck! X

Brilliant tips!! 👏🏼 I’m trying to create a jewellery capsule, although I never really thought about it in quite this way, but you’ve summed it up perfectly! After going back to my darker hair colour thought the pandemic I’ve recently changed my preference from silver to gold jewellery, so I’m slowly on the search for perfect items to join my small but growing collection. 🤞🏼
I have been working on mixing textures and trying to pay attention to the small details. I also thrift. I’m 59 so trends are not my thing but once in a while a trend will catch my eye and sometimes work its way into my style. I love the jewelry tip. I have a collection of vintage earrings some I’ve had for over 30 years. Even my newer pieces look vintage. I have a lot of fun with them. Love the video and excellent tips. We can always use a refresher for style. ❤❤❤ I hope you get your subscribers goal
