  • TechTalk: Bose Soundlink Mini II 2 Special Edition Demonstration & Review ‪@Bose‬ ‪@TheChanClanLife‬ #bose #soundlink #soundlinkmini
    From the Manufacturer:
    LIVE BIG. GO MINI.
    The SoundLink Mini II Special Edition delivers full, natural sound with dramatically deeper bass than you’d expect from a speaker that fits in the palm of your hand. It also features a built-in microphone for taking calls, and makes easy wireless connections anytime, anywhere. Now with 20% more battery life, a USB-C charging port, and two special edition colors - Luxe Silver or Triple Black.
    BETTER BY DESIGN
    Designed for sleek simplicity, its single-piece aluminum casing is durable and ultra-compact. Weighing in at just 1.5 pounds, it’s small and light enough to take it with you anywhere. It has a low profile that lets you place it almost anywhere without interruption and provides a low center of gravity that makes it nearly impossible to tip over. And with 20% more battery life than the current SoundLink Mini (up to 12 hours), you can keep the playlist going all afternoon.
    Easy connecting. Easy listening.
    What devices pair with the SoundLink Mini II? Smartphones and tablets. Or your friends’ smartphones and tablets. If it’s a Bluetooth device, you have all you need for any song you want to hear. And this speaker remembers the last 8 devices used, so it’s easier to reconnect and pass around the DJ controls. With a reliable range of about 30 feet, you can enjoy all that premium sound without wires.
    LOOKS LITTLE. PLAYS BIG.
    Small, portable speakers aren’t typically known for powerful performance. But SoundLink Mini II Special Edition isn’t your typical Bluetooth speaker.
    LEAVE YOUR PHONE ALONE
    Want the weather? Calling someone? Need to settle a bet with a friend? Just press and hold the multi-function button to access the built-in microphone. With Bluetooth connectivity, you can ask Siri or your Google Assistant questions - or answer your mom who keeps calling.

    I have owned a the Mini II since 2018 and it is still flawless. Best balanced sounding speaker I have ever heard. Especially good when sitting in a nice chair with the Bose about a meter away from you, but you can also put it on the other side of the room and it will fill the room. Sound to size ratio is excellent. The base is never too much - but always enough. The midrange - voices especially come through very clear. Seriously voice forward. Highs are great on cymbals and acoustic guitar. I don't care about waterproof. I'm not swimming with it.

    ive search a few times with google and even text search through the user manual PDF and no luck
    Do you know where the microphone is located on the device?
    Dont know why they would want to keep a lid on this, some techies like to know
    if you have a laptop, you would often want to know where the microphone is located if you were troubleshooting any technical issue
    thanks!

    I love these speakers. I’ve owned a Mini One for years and recently bought a Mini Two. This is a great review but I do have one quibble. It’s true that they aren’t weatherproof but I have taken it everywhere and played it outside, in the yard, on the deck, at the beach, traveling with it in my carry on. I have an original travel case for the One and purchased a nice after market case for the Two. You just have be a little careful, they are really quite sturdy. Even if it was weatherproof, I doubt I would be less careful. When I’ve played it for several friends with similarly priced speakers every single one of them has preferred the Bose.
    Thanks for the interview.

    I bought two of these. The instructions are great if you are in any place other than an English speaking country. In other words the instructions are schist! Also it’s very difficult to figure out how to pair two of them together. That sucks too

      i thought the same too! Can't find anything... (I have an older one and just bought a new one, but can't come across anything that says how to pair/connect both:( @thechanclan have you inquired with Bose?

  • @ford1546
    @ford1546 Před 9 měsíci +1

    According to what I have read, both should have the same size battery. But 1 uses a battery plug which makes battery replacement much easier, while 2 is soldered on. The only things that make the battery last longer on the bose soundLink 2 are that you have less bass and that the bass turns down faster when you turn the volume up and that you can no longer play as loud.
    you get a speaker with a poorer sound with less bass and a weaker amplifier only to play approx. 3 hours longer.
    bose SoundLink 2 has too little bass and too much treble. It has (loadnes) that make the bass turn down when you get closer to 50% volume

      Their modern portable line of speakers are for the modern generation of music listeners who appreciate nothing more but banging noises of the bass.
      The first time I heard the sound coming from the soundlink mini 2 speakers I was blown away by the insane, immersive soundstage and acoustics of such a tiny little device.
      This is the best speaker to get for listening to acoustics or classical music appreciating individual instruments more and not for modern/contemporary rap or pop music.

    Thank you so much, and great that someone had a sound test on classical music at last. I just ordered a Soundlink Flex and I'm horrified by the sound on my organ tracks. It's so ludicrously bass heavy, simply unlistenable. I wonder how they'd sound on this (I could pick one up for £50 just now). Those low chords in the Rachmaninov make me worry about it a bit. It's about fine on the piano but not sure what some 32" pipes would sound like on an organ lol... If you could test the sound with this youtube video: "Cavaillé Coll Organ - Saint-Ouen Abbey Church - Final Symphony No 1 - Gerard Brooks" and tell me if it sounds balanced or the pedal notes are totally overpowering, I'd be really grateful!

    Hii does it vibrate the table you put it on and when you put your hand on the table, does it have a vibration you can feel? I'm considering using it on my desk. And do you think it's good as a TV speaker?

    • @paulashton7207
      @paulashton7207 Před 3 měsíci

      We have a Samsung 32 inch Q series TV that we move around indoors and out (porch, patio, guest room). We use the Soundlink II as a soundbar and it works well. Certainly much better than the onboard TV sound. We take it with us when we travel and have used it several times with compatible TVs in hotel rooms and rentals. We thinks the sound is better than the small Bose soundbar we have that’s more than twice the size of the Soundlink.

    • @kaiaphasful
      @kaiaphasful Před 3 měsíci

      Not only the table will vibrate but it will also dance on the table if set on max volume. As the years go by and the batteries are getting weak it will turn itself off when on max vol. However i also have 2 of them which ive bought second hand. The sound, weight and design are quite satisfying. If you buy the soundlink mini 1 you can change the batteries without soldering. You can use them as a TV speaker but i wouldnt recommend it since theres no way to hide the cable(s) or remote control it. They are good for music but too bassy for speech. Better go for a normal soundbar or hifi in my opinion

    • @OhSoTiredMan
      @OhSoTiredMan Před 6 měsíci

      Flex is better, you get better audio separation from the vocals and music and less audio distortion on higher volume; it also has water resistance that the mini 2 lacks.
