Forgot to add that the LD70 seems to use a stepdown timer on Turbo that triggers at the 20 sec mark. It also can't be reactivated once at 60°C (Imalent state 65°C)
The 2nd hard stepdown on Turbo and the 1st stepdown on High are once the flashlight reaches 50°C. The one thing I noticed is that once it steps down to roughly 500 lumens there's no further reduction, this caused the light to heat to 61°C, from the Turbo, throughout the remainder of the runtime which is too hot to hold. On High and below it kept to 50°C. Entirely forgot to mention this

Another great review. Nice to see well recorded, real-world beam shots. I found your channel the other day and have been slowly working my way through your back-catalogue.

Thank you. The videos only started getting decent once I started playing with the drone. I had planned on mounting everything on the drone, but decided to go with the aerial photos instead, can't do both and the photos are more beneficial for a review :)

@@PiercingTheDarkness Very good vid. The LD70 is a good light. I agree with all your pro's and cons.
The drone is much more helpful using like you did here. Mounting it on the drone makes the turbo useless, that light heats up in an instant.
      More viewers should see this.

I have flown my Mavic 3 drone with it. It's really bright. The only problem is it's 40 minute battery life when at full power

I flew my 0.8kg Astrolux MF01S 🤣 that was a bit too heavy, but looked pretty awesome. There's a video on my channel of it.

From personally looking at it you can't tell a major difference between 2,000lumens and 4,000lumens but you can feel it at 4,000lumens it will literally burn through fabric in about 6-7 seconds😮 and you can't even hold your hand in front of it

The build quality if the LD70 is excellent. Agreed. You compared it with lights from Astrolux and Sofirn.
Now I have LD70 in one hand and the Sofirn IF22A in the other. The build quality is just as good.
It is a heavy light for the size. That could give the impression of quality. But really Both brands you mentioned, Astrolux and Sofirn are equals

As a dealer for Sofirn I've gone through a fair few models from them and the LD70 has a much higher quality feel to it. Most Sofirn's have sharp fins, anodizing scratches easily and just the design is much nicer on the LD70. Feels and looks like a much more premium light. This is just my observations, others may feel differently :)
Installed the included clip on my Sofirn IF22A review unit and the ano scratched right off.

Does it have memory mode for last mode used or do you have to go through all the levels.

wow nice review, thank you. in budget flashlight, how about the convoy s11 xhp70.2? I didn't find a complete review about it, do you have a runtime graph of convoy s11 xhp70.2? I think s11 is still pocketable too

Why is it so many people put run time over the actual ability to see????

Looks like another expensive disposable torch to me. When the built in battery is dead it’s just a paper weight.
