I just watched a video where she explained the beginnings of this song and she was in a hospital ER in Madison because of a reaction to a peanut butter sandwich. So it makes sense that she picked there to debut it.
Stunning song. It drips with Pele's style/energy. Burns, rather. I understand the album already had enough ballads, but it really should have been a bee-side back in the day. It saddens me that it wasn't.
Tori's fans have very good records of what she's played when. This song was only released on the 2015 deluxe edition of Boys For Pele. She's only played it live twice: this one and a few weeks later in Boston.
Imo an all time of hers, gorgeous song in spite of the butchered Nihongo and bizarre enunciations (part of the Tori experience). How come Torie plays this one so seldom? Is it written too high for her voice now? Or was it just never prepped and designed for live?
Thank you so much for recording this masterpiece. I was at the show and I will never ever forget this moment.
I was there :) blessed to be one of the first to hear live.

Some of this was rough, this was meant to be sung live she recorded it. Even still, it gave me goosebumps. What an amazing song.

gorgeous but she sings a lot of this a little out of tune
Uhh, wanna see you do it better then! ...& Play, & 'perform' it, 'Better' than she did then.
I'm waiting. 😏
you must be new to Tori if that's your critique lmao
