- The chateau is a hive of industry as Gerry and Tomaz join me in tackling the ceiling and doors of the entrance hall. Nati is busy baking, Dan and Selmar make the plans for Chickenopolis, and Marie starts work on the floristry studio. Meanwhile, for once, Mummy manages to take it easy, and revels in a new dress!

Thank you for showing us the Peahen and her babies. It was great to see the entire family roosting at the front gate of Lalande. They can be called the Guardians of the Chateau. It is always a pleasure watching your vlogs Stephanie, take care and be well. Cheers.
The pic of peacocks on gate post would be beautiful as a wall tapestry
You should keep the damaged print and put it up somewhere less frequented in the chateau where you probably won't come up close to it. That way you can embellish another room with some pretty art and it won't go to waste.
Oliver could probably paint those scratches and no one would even notice them
Yes, great idea x
Seeing the peacock and peahen with peachicks roosting on the gate posts seems more beautiful than an any statuary or vases could ever be. 💗. There is so much that I love in this video! Mummy twirling in her pretty dress, Jerry working diligently on the ceiling, the gold accents that really go beautifully, lovely sweets by the equally lovely Natalia, a beautiful plant for Mummy, and more! And finishing up with tango and salsa is a beautiful cherry on top! Thank you for sharing your inspired and inspiring lives with us!
Lady Isabelle Attfield looks wonderful in the dress
Michael is amazing talented and a gentleman
L
Is there anything Tomas can't do?
So glad the 4 peachicks are surviving!
Selma you look very smartly dressed in this video to be in the garden talking about Chicken. X
My daughter said that my watching so many Chateau Diaries has turned her inner voice British 😂 Meanwhile my little dog is jumping up, paws on the tv stand trying to see where the peacock went when it flew on top of the pillar. Too funny!
PAINTING TIP: For latex paint if you take plastic wrap (the type you use in the kitchen) wrap your roller or paint brush in a couple of layers then place in the refrigerator, it can stay there 2 to 3 days without being washed out. Great if you want to take a break from painting then start right at it later.
Great tip. I ll try and remember it for myself.
doesnt even need to be in the fridge. Ive had it out for a few days in warmer room temp and theyre fine.
What is latex paint??
Non oil paint. Acrylic maybe. Its paint that can be washed off the brush with water. Sorry I don't know what you call it.
@@dragonfly9851 Thanks I get it I was thinking weird like gloves. I am an Aussie we call it acrylic paint as opposed to oil paint. Thanks for the reply
Nick has a chin and nose, what a surprise. 🤣
Plus he smiles 🤗
AND HE WAS GRINNING!! BRILLIANT!! 😂🤣😂
Stephanie you, your Mum and All the delightful people at the chateau have been so fun to watch. Please be sure to continue to record any visits to the charity shops. You have a much nicer selection
àmazing watching your opening of presents ,gina stone ,england
Great to see the Pea chicks flying and to see the pair of peacocks sitting on the gate posts was a perfect picture!
Selmar is such great value, a skilled craftsman, apple pie maker extraordinaire and tango teacher!
Oh! Saw that Selmar and Natie were dancing Salsa at the end. I am Cuban by birth and love to dance Salsa, Rumba and ChaCha...hope to be able to dance at La Lande one day! 💃
I don't know about anyone else, but when I watch these videos, I find that I instantly develop a smile that stays with me all the way thru until the very end.
Same here. Everyone within this lovely chateau; seems so charming.
Same here :)
Yes, I am still smiling after the vlog ends when I read the comments. :)
Mummy, your dress looks lovely on you!! You are glowing!!
There’s something about Mummy , I catch myself with a big smile on the verge of laughing out loud just knowing she’s about to say something in a well crafted and humorous way.
Yes, I love Mummy.
just came from work and How lovely is to end the evening with LaLande. I could watch one hour of this and not be tired.
I love everyone there! Selmar, thomas, Dan, the girls.....what a wonderful life. Love all the animals too!
Me too Liz!!
Dear Stephanie and everyone there, I am really enjoying the enthusiasm, pace, and length of these videos. Thank you so much for packing a lot into a half an hour of joyful pause in my day. Sending peace and love.
Can’t get over everything that gets done in a day with everyone working together...........lovely to see the little babies doing so well ,there will be feathers everywhere when the chicks arrive.....what fun, I can’t wait to see the hen houses that Selmar will build, beautiful as always I’m sure......stay well..........Donna in Toronto
I can’t wait to see the little babies grow!
I am SOOOO HAPPY about the books!! I am so happy that they will be useful😁😁😁😁😁Now....Ms. Jarvis, Young Lady...🤨 well now I know what we shall we will be doing when/if we ever get to do work away.... Two things: 1. My husband is a massive perfectionist 2. He works for a paint company (like a Benjamin Moore) so when I saw you rolling without covering the lights and other things on your walls.... and i am crazy about the chicks and the chicken village!! 😁😁😁😁💕 I almost passed out😜 Now I am assuming the rest of the ceiling will be scraped, prepared, primed and have two coats?😎 And yes... save the painting for the Wheelers😉😊😊😊😎 He's not quite as handy as Selmar but almost😉
Shannon, oh my goodness! After watching Sunday's episode, I went to Amazon to gather some books for my library! Yikes! One of them was offered at 800.00 plus dollars. (just a wee bit over my budget......for the next decade. LOL) I am so please you chose to offer these lovely gifts to LaLonde. I'm sure everyone will appreciate your generosity for many years. What a kind gesture. Bless you.
A very generous gesture and well placed at LaLande. I really enjoyed watching everyone look through the books. I thought is was so amazing that someone sent them. Fabulous. I look forward to the Vlogs when you join the team. Yes agree with your husbands painting advice..ha ha. Oh well - at least Stephanie looks glam wielding a paint roller.....
What a beautiful sight the peahen with her chicks. Another treat the tango lessons with the ever so suave Selmar & his pink tie. The man knows how to dress. Thank you Stephanie for another entertaining vlog
The tango lessons are going fabulously well! You have all improved greatly with the help of Selmar. I love seeing what outfit Selmar will have on. He is always resplendent! It is so good too to see more work being done on the chateau. No wonder you can all eat chocolate and cupcakes since you burn off all the calories with hard work.
How beautiful those pea hens are with their mother and proud poppa. Love the tango lessons. Selmar is magic on the dance floor. 😘
Glorious Peacocks on the pillar posts, how majestic.
A suggestion for the flower studio : Love Thomas' initiative hanging the curtain but consider replacing it with an old Lalande door ( s ) which would slide on a track suspended from the ceiling. Pipes camophlaged yet accessable.
(Moira Ashton) Brilliant vlog! All so lovely, and to finish with the dancing, wonderful!!! Great to see the Peacocks and babies and little Smart Diesel!! 🏰💓💗😍
I'm going to bake a cake. A lemon cake iced with drizzled sugar. Delicious. That's how a visit to LaLande inspires me and leaves me feeling happy and content seeing such beauty, comfort and joy. Love you guys.
Isabelle is amazing. Her energy and beauty. She looks so stylish in the beautiful blue & white dress. Loving the gold bling decoration. ❤ The Talia Blue & White dress is sold out 😪
Where is the dress from?
I'd love to know where the dress is from?
This is so similar
www.oaclay.com/products/summer-fashion-women-bell-sleeves-printed-holiday-dress
@@bellaluna321 The dress is from a company called Salisa, in the UK. I managed to get one in the pale pink, it's so pretty and as Isabelle said, very easy and comfortable to wear!
If you raise a gosling with the chickens, they will guard the hens. I watch videos on that!
Kay Donahue I have seen that. They are called Guard Geese.
I can’t tell you how excited I was to see Selmar and Nattie dancing salsa. Salsa is my favorite dance. I also love Tango. I haven’t been able to go to my dance studio because of the lockdown and I miss dancing terribly. I hope when I come to visit Lalande in the future that there will be dancing just as there was in this vlog.
You need to have Michael bring his drone camera over and do new shots of the exterior since so many improvements have been made.
I think I'm the only one who finds drone episodes boring! 🤣
Or just bring Michael over because I love episodes with him in! I'm still waiting for them to sew up the fancy robes they selected fabrics for, though it's not like they're super busy or anything!! hahaha
@@marymcandrew7667 Michael's mom posted he's in Paris now.
Probably waiting until they update the courtyard
Wow!!!!! Selmar you can salsa and you do it with class and smoothly. Dancing and music are so important for the spirit and soul as far as I’m concerned, but to see you dancing salsa in a fabulous castle takes it to a different level. You are all bringing so much joy to your audience; I don’t laugh easily but all of you make me laugh. Keep up your great work.
This video really made me feel positive. Thank you for all being such great people.
Love to see Selmar dancing. His moves are fantastic, Bravo Selmar. Again great show, thank you . God bless all of you.
Garden looks so much better without the fence. Loving the Tango at the end. Love how we see Diesel's transformation in reverse!
Hi Stephanie,
PLEASE be careful of that Pampas grass in floral arrangements. If it gets anywhere near a candle it is highly explosive.... Very dangerous to even have anywhere near a chateau.
❤💓❤
didnt they use pampas grass as a form of lighting in times past?
Lot of work done in the hall going to look fantastic.gerry is a hard ,the pictures are beautiful.,love mummy s dress .take care x
My sister lit incense sticks near her vase of pampas and flames shot up the wall. Scarest thing we had ever seen. I think she was 14 at the time.
@@richardjones4080
No... It will literally instantly flash and burn when anywhere near a flame. Not to mention the soot it causes. It is an absolute nightmare,,, I speak from experience.
I hope she's seen this. It sounds alarming!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE watching the TANGO dancing!!!
❤️❤️❤️ I'm so happy to see Marie's floral studio coming to life. The beauty is amplified by the fact that all the pieces have a story behind them. I think that is what makes Lalande different from other chateaus. ❤️❤️❤️
I liked the bit about the chickens as I currently have 4 roosters! Now, how that came to be was that just before lock down I promised 2 friends that I'd rear some extra chickens with my own new chicks for this year. I took a chance and ordered some 'straight run' even tho I should have just ordered pullets, but I wanted some fun bantam breeds. Now, I've 4 roosters (though a good deal more new hens) and both friends couldn't get them DUE to lock down and now, no longer want them. THUS, I've many more hens and 4 roosters!
This morning was actually the day I found it was 4 and not 3 as the big fluffy white silky I thought was a hen , was crowing as proud as you like waiting for me to come and let them loose, as I usually do around 5:30 am. He was so proud, he strutted up and down the smaller run into which they are locked in the evening (we have coyotes, fox, raccoons, and all matter of prey birds) . He proudly strutted out crowing all the while. He is rather large , for a Silkie which is a bantam.
My other 3 roos are 2 of the beautiful porcelain d'uccle bantams I bought as a pet project. I've a notion to raise these amazing birds in their own private pen (when I can get around to building it) And of these there are 2 roos and 2 hens. But they get along so well, I shall leave all four together when they get their own pen.
And the final roo is the best and silliest! He is an Old English Game bird, and he has 2 wives now (luckily of those three tiny bantams one roo and two hens is a good mix) and he is no bigger than a pigeon, but proud and daring as a BULL!
For now, they all live happily with my older 6 hens and make a motley crew. At some point, when it cools down, I'm sure I'll make videos of whatever I come up with for their new homes. I'd LOVE to make a sort of georgian folly style coop and run for the Porcelain D'uccle, they are like little delicate flowers of the chicken world, with their feathered feet and sot pale patterned plumage.
Sorry to go on about my chickens, but they are all rather my little pets. And of course I've 17 little quail chicks currently 'brooding' in my studio bathroom! Lol, yet not a peacock...YET :)
Oh and just to add, Brahmas are such a good bird. Of the latest batch of chicks I was going on about 4 are brahma hens. I had a brahma once, that was such a pet, she was called 'buttons' as she loved to hop upon my lap and snap buttons off my cardi.
We were living in our little antique cottage the year I had her and she'd greet me at the kitchen door, pecking to come in and I'd open it and she'd stroll in bold as brass looking for hand outs. I miss being able to free range my birds, but we've are too many chicken eating animals out here in our wood :/
Sorry to go on about chickens.
Having lived in Australia where they refer to Knagaroos as Roos, I was feeling a little confused . .
@@rebeccacerecke4511 Oh haha, no I've no kangaroos yet, lol. You call them chooks, eh? Tho do you call roosters cockerals or roosters?
@@DonnaDavisArt They are collectivly called chooks, here in New Zealand and also in Australia (Oz) but male chooks are roosters. We are not allowed roosters in the cities, as they would wake everyone up.
@@rebeccacerecke4511 Oh that is too bad, though I have a couple of hens that 'announce' their egg laying louder than my little banty roos that's for sure :) We're pretty secluded tho, so no worries about complaining neighbours :)
That was lovely. I really enjoy watching these types of vlogs, just everyday life 😊
I love Mummy’s new dress. It looks so lovely on her. Stephanie, when you showed Mummy the dress originally I loved it so much I searched for the shoppe to purchase one too. They were not shipping to the US. However the lovely person emailed me when they could ship to the US again & now I’m enjoying the same dress. It is just so pretty. Mahalo for sharing 🌼🌸 Aloha to everyone @ Chateau de LaLande 🏰✨
LOL, I'm seriously searching the web for this dress right now. Where did you find it? Thanks!
Paige Pooler It’s called Salisa. Here is their email address. enquiries@salisa.co.uk
I hope this helps ☺️
Thank you so much, Jennie!! 🌸
Paige Pooler You’re welcome 😉 I hope you get one🤗💕
Jennie Dowsett-Greever most have already sold out! Thx for link.x
The floral studio is going to be beautiful; it's great to see Marie back and getting settled. Tomas, is multi-talented and able to help out in so many ways. Selmar is a gifted carpenter, a great dancer and always knows what to say and when to say it! Stephanie, I love the art from South Africa; it will look beautiful in your room. Your vlogs have really helped to lift my spirits during the pandemic in Los Angeles. To all Lalanders... thank you for sharing a bit of the chateau life!
Amazing ending with a salsa dance by Naty and Selma ❤❤
I had watched the garden section and had an idea about the door at the end of the garden wall that isn’t symmetrically placed to the front entrance of the garden. I had thought, as you face the door, you could haves statue on the left of it. Then, on the left of that statue, have a “fake” door in the wall. This could give you the symmetry you desire? I also was going to suggest a hedging of lavenders for the dividing fence, but now I see that there are other plans afoot. I was thinking of the aroma of the sun warmed lavenders would add to the magic of your beautiful walled garden. So enjoy your ethos, Susan from Tasmania 🌸
Oh what a beautiful day y’all did have... the peachicks are so cute. And Sif and Thor on the gate post with their chicks is just so darling. Mummy’s apartment is gorgeous as is she in her blue and white new dress! Nati’s cupcakes are “to die for”. The entry “screams” elegant & welcoming Chateau. So exciting to see the entry and it’s refinement. Love the gold on the doors. The florist studio will be so picturesque when completed. And lastly, the dancing...just perfect & fun and a great community event to end the perfect day. 😊💐❤️
Hi Stephanie. Can't live without your videos. Thank you. Be well.
Tomaz and Gerald both look very tired - perhaps the heat. I worry that Gerald may not be allowing himself the rest her needs to recover from the ordeal of past several months. This from personal experience w/my partner, I continue to marvel at the talent and dedication of all your volunteers/staff. Also, must say your mother's apartment is so serenely beautiful! Much admiration for all of you.
I love to see the restoration taking place and Selmar is a good dancer as is everyone .It is nice to see it come together and the gold paint was a good choice.
Yay Scotman the double handed painter. Fabulous dancing all. The peacocks are majestic on the posts.
Stephanie I love your commentary about how mom and daughter can’t appear wearing the same dress at your age. Just hilarious 😂
Mummy looks so pretty in her dress!! I can’t wait to see the chicken in their new home and the newly painted room is perfection! As are these vlogs 💗
Another wonderful vlog! I like how Dan is becoming so comfortable in front of the camera now. He was so reticent at first but now acts like its the most natural thing in the world. He's obviously succumbed to the Lalande spell!
Scotman is so adorable! Nati is so pretty! That dress is lovely on you, Isabelle! Good job, Selmar and Dan! Marie, I’m so excited to see you back at LaLande! I love the way everyone works together! Love to all, Steph! ❤️❤️
So glad to see Scotman again! Im so happy he continues to improve he has the best attitude!! He definitely needs a new painters outfit as that one is very holy or he needs to be painting the chapel lol
I can see how nature inspires artists , seeing the hens jump on top of the post and imagining a carved version of them on a grand old gate from antiquity. However, it's so nice to have the real things.
I just love the energy that Tomas has. Blessed. 💟☮️
If I was making a movie that involved renovating a chateau (along with other adventures, romance, etc.) I'd cast every single person already involved in la Lande. The mix of hard work and a variety of eccentricities is fascinating. I look forward to every episode. Do I see an Emmy or Golden Globe in the future? The recent addition of Tomaz and Selmar has punched up the energy very nicely. Congrats, everyone for shining on!
Mommy‘a new beautiful dress ! A nice paint job in the front room. And to end it off a beautiful tango that Selmar demonstrates with Natalie and Stephanie. Have a great weekend! 🌹🌹🌹🌹
💓The gold touches look fantastic... LOVE watching Selma dance, he is very Multi talented definitely a keeper💓
The 2 peafowl perched on the gate posts look so romantic and beautiful...
Selmar is the Tango champ! What fun!
OMG, I could NEVER roll a ceiling with paint with anything on the walls because they would be ruined with paint splatters much less some historic art. Good job, Steph and Gerald.
By the way, this is Suzanne Foley, not Ron. I'm infringing on his site. Don't tell him!
Thank You so much, as I know you all hear our news, I truly appreciate you all right now. The whole video was pure joy!!! Have a blessed weekend.
That dress on Isabelle looks so flattering...a little girl..always.nothing else...so warms my heart..😊
Tango at the Chateau is also as beautiful..🔝

It is so much fun watching you all, the changes in the chateau, and how much fun you all have. I am sure you have challenges but you give me many happy times watching! Thank you Gerald for the fun, Tomas for your artistic talents, Marie for the beautiful flowers, Mummy for her love of life and yes, Selma for the dancing! Greetings all and thank you! Miss Stephanie....you are one fantastic lady!
Hi Stephanie. I am from South Africa and love to watch your channel. A few friend and I am planning to visit you as soon as lockdown is over! We cant wait!!
good job Gerald and Stephanie, Tomaz & wonderful baking in the kitchen with Nattie. I am sure that the gold adornment painting is pain staking in the wonderful entrance hall!. Happy to see Mummy taking a break & the great footage of the pea chicks and their parents making your property even more beautiful. Things are really humming at the chateau; thank you; take good care of our Gerry! We are also having our peak of summer hot days....which I do prefer over our extremely cold winter. lots of "hugs" all from Canada. xo♥
I loved this blog, the painting and Jerry, the peacocks and the tango with Selma and company ❤️
Mummy looks great in the new dress. So happy to see the baby peachicks growing and taking flight! Love seeing work getting done on the chateau. Keep sharing the progress. So nice of your subscriber to drop off a belated gift to mummy.
I just love, love, love watching your vlogs, everyone is so kind and friendly, but I suppose, if you live in a wonderful Chateau like Lalande why would you be any other way. Love you all, xxx Doreen, Melbourne, Australia
Hi, I am also in Melbourne. What a wonderful trip to France a few times a week? I love these Vlogs. My happy place.
My heart is pounding watching you paint with those pictures and valances hanging!!
I just feel there is going to be a romance at LeLand. After that tango....Nattie & Selmar?
Love the peacocks on the posts looking so majestic. Love the dancing always. Have to say again how sweet of a guy Dan looks to be. I may have to adopt him.
Tomaz is adorable.
Oh love all the painting especially the gold. Ah the little peahens flying all the way to the gateposts so grown up now. Thank you Stephanie for another lovely video x
10/10 Selmar and Stephanie for your tango
Rewatching and enjoying again 😊😊😊
Thank you for another wonderful vlog Stephanie and team. Loved every bit of it. I grew up with Bantam hens and one Bantam rooster. He lived with the hens and protected them, had a beautiful nature. Roosters crow more when with other roosters, as they compete for rank. Also bantams make great pets as they are friendly. :) Looking forward to seeing Selma’s chicken houses. Have a wonder week, much love xo
Love following the progress of the peachicks! Wow!! they all looked stunning on top of the entrance gate pillars! I bet one of your patrons is already sourcing 2 Marble Sculptures of your Mummy and Daddy Peacocks for each pillar?? Can't wait for that unboxing episode! Stephanie you and your Mum are the "BEST"xx
I am without words! Such a happy, peaceful place. ❤️
WOW, your dancing is all so amazing! I love everyone there. Thank you for making my life happier!
Good Evening everyone 👋👋👋
I was watching this video in my bed and in the middle of your progress with doors painting in gold accents I fell asleep. And in my dream the video continued with me in Lalande participating in some of your activities and I woke up with fresh memories being teleportaten directly from your chateau in a moment😌
Well done!!! Painting, dancing, baking!!! Also, being super entertaining and hilarious for your viewers. We adore you all!
Living & working there must be a dream ! Luv watching ur videos💗
Oh, I remember those prints!! So divine.
Everything is looking lovely. Enjoyed. Love the dancing of the tango. Love to all ❤
I had such a good time watching this episode. It was really fun. 😂
oh!! and you can get paint off of old hardware by putting them in a slow cooker!
? Really?
Shannon Tymkiw wow, please explain how because that’s wonderful to know!
You have to get a slow cooker you can throw away after you remove the paint. Can only use the cooker for cleaning hardware. Put the hardware in water and slow cook. Check to see as the paint eels off
This was delightful. Lots of bits and pieces, plus I think we saw everyone. Make them a bit longer to get the adds and we get more you. Selfish of me. 😳🥰🥰
Handsome Selmar! Gotta love Jerry and Tomaz and everyone just contributing to the beauty of the Chateau.
WOW !..... you can REALLY hear the power in the wings of the peacocks as they fly up onto the gate posts!! Nice to to see all those dancing becoming more swift and agile and confident in their quick and smooth tango dance steps!! Beautiful painting continues in the chateau! Floral studio continues to take on a wonderful style! Good work team LaLonde!
Lovely, Selmar. You live in a magical place. Fairy mushrooms everywhere too. Lol. You captured stunning visuals. 🥰🥰🥰
i am really looking forward to see the Chikenopolis.
Isabelle looks beautiful in her new dress!! 💙💙
I love the stables! It's a great place for Marie to work, but I hope eventually they will be restored, complete with the horse's name plates remaining over the stalls. I love that - Wouldn't it be wonderful if the former owners happened to have a photo of the horses that you could place in their stalls as a reminder of earlier times.
I loved everything about this video...thank you Stephanie and all.
I really enjoy your videos. This might sound wierd but they help me fall asleep. I often watch it in bed and drift off because they are so relaxing. The next morning i re-watch them so that i accidentally do see all of them. Its a nice way to start the day
