Meanwhile, Selmar continues his beautiful restoration work of the golden chairs, Mummy and Gerry address envelopes for our patrons, Marie settles into her floristry studio, and Dan plants a fig tree to grace our future garden pergola...

I like everyone else in “ the Laland “ world feel we are a part of the joy we see. I’m 77 yrs and relate to Isabelle, I to live with my daughter, who is a beautiful creature business woman who reminds me of Stephanie, the cast of characters at Laland also remind me of those in my Beverly Hills neighborhood. Kooky ,fun interesting never boring. I don’t think Chateau diaries ever ment to be like a scripted soap opera,however it did and Stephanie is editing it better than many directors. Bravo Stephanie. I look forward to every day your on, whither it’s diy or diaries or opening gifts of love that pour out to this band of angles. Three years ago I went into a depression and for an artist designer this was not good. However darling ones you make me laugh, I’m a pretty good cook and I find myself wanting to cook for you all. I have a dream and that is to hg you all, help Selma reconditioned furniture, recreate bedrooms of old.... in other words you give me hope

if you use glazes, you can tone down the brassiness of the gold and add both shadow in the recesses and an overall antique look. Easier to do than painting a different tone, as you can brush it on and wipe off the raised surfaces. It remains in the crevasses and depressions as shadow. It remains semi-transparent.
I just love how Selmar speaks, so gently and low with his broken english. If he made a recording of a book, I could just put in my earbuds, sit back and listen all day long. Well done Stephanie and everyone, you are all doing a fantastic job with the Chateau. Bless you all. xxx Doreen
Marie’s floral studio is the best space in the chateau. She has true taste. She understands scale, patina and layering better than anyone else there. You should consult her on decoration. She knows what she is doing. A salute to Marie from me a decorator in New York City.
May we have a tour of Selmar’s workshop, please? Maybe by Selmar? I see all his tools, a cool bench vice, and projects.

Selmar did not setup this workshop. Percy and others doing maintenance set it up but Selmar is using it.

I have been watching Chateau Diaries since early March, and look forward to each video. I love the new addition of the gift unwrapping. Marie, get some silica sand , seal flowers in a closed box in the sand and they dry beautifully. You can reuse the sand. The floristry studio is looking so pretty. Gerry looking very hunky in his new apron🥰. Everything is looking lovely, things are changing everyday. I’d love to hear Thomas and Stephanie sing , Isobelle too? Saying prayers Percy can come soon, when life gets shorter you need to cherish everyday together. Sad you’ve been apart all this time. 💝🙋🏼

What she also needs is more eyesight. Poor mummy is blind in one eye and half blind in the other eye. I think she does amazingly.

Oh, have the swallows nested in Selmar's workshop, caught sight of something flying around. The chair restoration is magnificent, it will be a very dark day when Selmar might possibly move on, hopefully he will be a frequent visiter, just like the swallows.

I love Marie's little floral studio and all the beautiful and helpful work the little busy bee's are doing throughout the Château. So many little fairy helpers waving their creative wands to manifest a little piece of Heaven on Earth. I've always had a greater appreation for working with what you have and taking things that are neglected or not very pretty and turning them into something beautiful, rather than always replacing and buying everything brand new. It makes one feel so much more invested and appreciative and often turns out so much more interesting and lovely.
As I watch this video of Stephanie and Isabel, it makes me miss my mommy so much. Today she has been gone 10 years and I miss her every single day. She was so strong and had such a sense of humor. Loved gardening, cooking, sewing and her grandchildren.

This is such a highlight to my day. I have a lovely energetic five year old (she has a fleur name: Linnéa) and busy days. After getting her to bed, I pour myself some tea, cosy up on the sofa and dim the light & enter the magical de Lalande! It’s such a treat for my soul. Thank you all for contributing to our wellbeing!

How lucky are we all to have these videos each week. Stephanie has inspired me to see the silver lining in any situation. She has also inspired me to learn more and more about decor, art,furniture and industrial history. Stephanie and her family are such kind and open hearted people. They shine sun on all who meet them. Scotman is also an incredible human and in sharing some of his cancer journey I imagine he has motivated others in treatment to be brave and full of hope.

I have no idea what Selmar’s life plans are but he would make the perfect full time property care taker of the chateau. He can do everything, knowledgeable, young, caring, polite, economical and is friends with a guard dog.

Selmar is super, the mattresses and the beds, his work is exceptional.
Hint: put any fitted sheets or mattress covers on from diagonal corners....like: start @ top left corner, then go to bottom right corner, then top right corner, then lastly the bottom left corner. MUCH EASIER! The materials will stretch a bit with diagonal application. Put up instructions up in laundry room so anyone on bed-making duty knows easiest way.👍
I found your channel about 6 months ago and have watched them almost all of them. As a college student, you have shown me it’s never to late to go after your dreams. Watching LaLande has helped me remember that I can achieve my dreams and I’ll will be saving alll my money once I graduate university to help accomplish them. I would love to run a B&B just like LaLande or have a place to host weddings or event.
So pretty, even the brown grass. I love all the fruit trees. I have 3 citrus trees, orange, grapefruit and lemon. Y'all are truly blessed.

Ohhhh! The glasses they are drinking from are from the Madonna Inn, in San Luis Obispo, California! Just up the road from where I live! I just love Stephanie and all of the other La Landers!! They are the first videos I watch every day. It makes my heart sing watching all the them & sharing their lives! Such joy, peace, beauty, love, laughter and life to warm the hearts!
