    Hello everyone and welcome to the patch notes for the upcoming Mystic Patch for Age of Wonders 4! I believe this is the final dev diary thing before the release of the DLC on June 18th, and this covers all of the impending changes to the game. Some key sections are the Highlights at 0:53, Culture (except Mystic, that's in Highlights) changes at 26:33, a surprising number of Tome changes at 45:30, and some minor Unit changes at 1:00:38. To me, the biggest and most exciting change is definitely everything surrounding experience and unit ranks, and I am very excited to get my hands on it and break the game even more with my Legend rank Inquisitor doom legion -- thanks for watching!

    Summon Summoning Rift of Summoning!
    Have to appreciate how much work the devs put into improving the game so far and hope, with the announcement of more future support, they continue to make stuff even better (I'm still hoping beyond hope that one day we will get a proper diplomatic victory).

    The baron palace seemst to be built in other races cities but the resources produced goes to your throne city. Its a colonial tax thingy.

    This is the only strat game where watching the battles and playing the battles are *BOTH* fun. I love this game!

    The buffs to the other signature abilities is good since those options are typically better in auto-resolve. The summoning abilities do not work in auto resolve since the AI values summoning below all other actions.

      That would explain why I never see the AI use the Signature Summons... the fools!

    24:22 Another behaviour the AI is prone to do: use buffs, even if it could kill the last enemy and thus could end the combat. At least once I set my side of the battle to automatic and lost a unit to a decay, just because a support unit opted to buff someone instead of killing the enemy.

    8:30 it is a wk overchannel which is a full action spell only used once per spellweaver per turn (and of course once per battle)

    16:27 as I understand it, the units summoned by other units in combat will now have some minor scaling based in the base unit's XP level. Which still might mean that the overall value of the package deal is worse because they get half the HP buff compared to the normal unit, but at least the summons won't end up four times more squishy than leveles up tier 1's.

    Magelocks playing FPS, taking aimed shots, or hipfire.
    Avian/Human Reavers on Eagles, you know the faction.

    There were players that had stacks of Animists summoning Primal Spirits, so now it got nerfed.

    seems like the strategy with locking the spells for 10 turns is to lock the spells you don't use all that much so they are doing something for you even when you are not using them

    50:50 I think you can use Animate Flora from an item or Horned God and then turn it into a warbreed ;)

      They’d have the magic origin tag and thus can’t be targeted by Monstrous Rebirth

      @@Fableheim Either Eldritch Sovereign, or Syron with Umbral Demon transformation, I thing Sovereign with syrons as his follower race.
      As for culture and all other details, need to see, how he ends up looking, to make it match.
      Another random race idea, inspiration is Subnautica's Cuddlefish, could be a race, or only Ruler, maybe even Squidward's followers: Little Toad, probably with Spawnkin, with Umbral Demon transformation, the one that gives tentacles for legs.

      I want to say that Warhounds are Magical Origin because they are a combat summon, but it's certainly something to try!

    Hot take, but I really don't like the Magelock changes. So the way I used Magelocks was to have them take positions out of reach of the enemy, then use a melee unit as bait. When the enemies take the bait, and they always did, alpha strike their units with long range volley of gunfire turn after turn after turn.
    The fact that base aim has been castrated to a base aim of 60 completely ruins this playstyle. Now I don't get rewarded for setting up the previous turn, I have to dedicate a turn of active combat to set up and the benefit of setting up now only lasts for one turn meaning you have to set up every other turn. If it was the "option" to use a full action or one action to fire and affected your base aim and damage accordingly I'd be happy with that, but this?
    How were people using Magelocks? Like Archers? I thought they were perfect.

      I am a big fan of the change, and the playstyle you mentioned is still in effect. Their 1 AP Mark skill was changed to a 3 AP leave 1 AP grant +80% Accuracy on next attack this turn. If you were already in position, you will now have a shot with 140% accuracy. The change just allows you to reposition and roll the die instead of not being able to attack at all. This change also affects the Magelock Hero weapon, so Killing Momentum will no longer be wasted on them.
      Unless you miss their Mark skill, then I have nothing for that.

      ​@Fableheim OK, I somehow missed the "Full Action Continue" description after three rereads.
      Keyword: "Continue". I read that Take Aim was a Full Action, not a continued action. I withdraw my statement this is a good change and gives Magelocks more flexibility without changing their role.
