Great video 👍🏼
So I think this is a great video to post this on I just took a 3 hour flight I played both dead or alive 5 and final fantasy 13 at 10TDP and 720p with original settings at 45% brightness everything ran smooth and by the end of the 3 hour flight I had 24% left not bad
Not bad at all, the battery management app they made really helps windows.
Nicely made video
After an hr of emulation, I wonder what your Temps are? After about 30mins my screen was uncomfortably hot to the touch and I realized why people's SD cards would break. Performance is good, but I feel like it won't hold longevity
I did notice that too, it gets very toasty. I'm interested to see 3 years...
Is there a video on how to get the games because im trying to play pokemon emerald❓️
Use google.
I’m thinking of buying this. Could you advise me on wether this device can get games such as Pokemon Rom hacks (renegade platinum etc)? That would be really appreciated and could swap my decision.
Thank you
This is a windows 11 machine anything windows can run this will run just fine. Up to the PS4.
I would love to hear more about switch emulation on the Ally. My switch is by miles the best video game i ever had and i had them all. Nintendo has a nostalgic vibe that i can’t pass. But I’m considering upgrading to the Ally if i can run the switch games just as good plus any other pc games. That would be awesome.
I use yuzu, I would google the setup. As for running it on the Ally it runs great as long as you dial in the settings first. Metroid Dred 👌
hello and thanks for the video! i have the rog ally and ive installed retroarch but i can only play gba games and ps1.. ive tried ps2 and 3ds emulators but they wont work.. any idea why?
thanks in advance
Probably missing the bios files, I would look up a setup video for the emulator that isn't working.
I have everything in my Rog but the controller settings is off how I can change that so it would read perfect on my games
I had some controller issues as well, but I was able to use RetroArch to set up the controlls as and Xbox controller input
Just got my rog ally, i downloaded retroarch but whenever i try to open the setup it says "you need to install an app for this task", when i click yes nothing happens. Does anyone have a fix for this?
I installed it and opened it using windows and not the launcher. I didn't have any issues. Maybe check retro game corps setup guide for RetroArch.
do you not upscale games? this bit makes me not think so 1:49 and you constantly mention 120hz while you are running every game with 30-60 fps
Pretty much all emulated games are capped at 30 or 60fps
With the exception of a few.
Also, with vrr, anything with 48-60fps the frames will be doubled.
That all made me think he knows nothing about what he is talking about.
Hey I need help, none of my ds, 3ds games play vertically, they play side by side and it’s frustrating. Can someone help me out or point me to a video for help? THANKS
@retrogamecorps has a good website for setup of emulators on windows which may help
I know it can handle games, but my main question is how fast windows is, can it run VMWARE, office, or Lightroom at a descent speed
These will all be fine, but if your mainly going to be using those programs get a laptop. Gaming should be what this thing does 90% of the time. Anything less get laptop.
@@DaveyG I agree! For that reason I just got a rog z13 instead, I was Hyper v n VMware for learning purposes, plus the 3050ti runs almost everything a, I didn't want another laptop.
Now I just want to retire my switch v1 and upgrade to something better
Can you make a video on how you remap the buttons to play in hand held mode for retro games? I’d greatly appreciate it.
i had such a hard time remapping things, some things would be easy and some wouldn't recognise the built in controls at all. czcams.com/video/qanJjIcnMlY/video.html&ab_channel=ROGGlobal this helps a bit.
@@DaveyGjust curious what button you used to have a start button for Pokémon? I had everything ready to go and once it was time to hit start at the beginning I got stumped
I bought a 512GB Batocera gaming memory but I don't know how to run it on Rog Ally, can you help me?😓
Not sure what that would be formatted for. If it's an SD card plug it in and see what windows says it's formatted in.
battery life for NES games? just curious before i buy it
Maybe 3hrs it's more or less the setting you have on. I'd recommend the steam deck or retroid Pocket 3+ battery life is way better for low wattage games.
Did I hear you say it emulates Switch?
A+
except its need 20watt to play switch rather than 3watt on original switch
woah emulation isnt pitch perfect of a console that is still releasing triple a games to this day
Lmao I wish I was smart and knew how to do this smh I bought a 100 pre installed emulator and it has the full DS and game boy on my screen I want it like this
How do I use RetroArch?
Do I just download it and then I have access to the GBA library? I really want to play the old Pokémon games but I don’t have the cartridges, can you help me? My ROG Ally gets here tomorrow, and I want to hop into the old Pokémon games.
