Just a suggestion, if you take the East Indies but leave at least one province independent rather than taking all of them, that independent state will get attacked rather than you, so you can dodge Japan's war focus :)

i'm pretty sure the pre-dreadnaught boats you use this video are almost as old as the german nation itself lol
i wish hoi had a random world generator or something. i mean, if you play a country you are stuck with those specific starting conditions of the country as preset by paradox or mod. a randomiser that redraws the borders of very country without being bordergore would be cool, with randomized focus tree's and everything... maybe the AI can one day do it? and dont forget randomly generated landmasses! maybe even randomly generated tech trees every game so you dont have a plan or know the meta. literlry the entier game is randomly generated every playtrough! a man can dream

You can only use the most expensive equipment possible (heavy tanks with full upgrades for example) as a minor nation and at least nuke someone till the end of 44.

One of my first successful campaigns was as Bulgaria and I all but refused to upgrade my planes or boats for most of the game. Ended up having the third-largest navy in the world by spamming out hundreds upon hundreds of the Armed Canoe-Class destroyer (Tier I with basically nothing on it) and its successor, the Fuck The Indian Airforce-Class. The latter had only AA and was build solely to counter a single squadron of Indian CAS that was managing to kill my defenseless ships in the Indian Ocean faster than I could build them. Had no idea what I was doing the whole game but somehow it worked.
Fun fact: Rudolf Heß in the cabinet has the trait first among equals which grants +15% political power gain and -2.5% production cost for heavy fighters so if anyone's planning on making heavy fighters he might be useful, then again he might not be Idk

Ethiopia with NO dlc is absolute challenge. Remember asking for lend lease were added in Together for victory dlc, so you can't ask Mongolia and Tuva for rifles. Good luck beating Italy 😅

I've noticed with Japan and the Dutch East indies you can beat them with prep. Have the Indies puppeted (I think you have to have this for Malaysia too if you own them, doesn't the focus tree give them wargoals on both?) But you need to have them ready to be annexed as puppets, and the day Japan finishes the focus to get wargoals on them you pause the game and annex them (so you'll need spies in Japan to know exactly when they're going to finish). Can be nice to get to steal the resources.

An idea for a fun series. A roman empire series, where you play every nation in Hoi 4 that can recreate a roman empire as at this point there are quite a few and you can rank them at the end. Italy, Germany, Greece, Bulgaria and the Soviet Union can all recreate parts of the roman empire :D

In the naval side, you can win easily by spamming converted cruiser carriers only having a deck and engine 1 (you can add anti air if you want). Fill it with aircraft and you can easily win the seas.

Aka - Eu4 to Hoi4 Milleinium Dawn but you can't take over the world until the very end.
Rules are simple: start as a city state of your choosing, and when the games timeline ends, you move to the next game, but it looks the exact same as if you left, with the exception of mechanics and looks. Just as mad a A2Z, but better.
