Top End Reassembly: Honda XL600R Part 7

Completing the engine rebuild! The top end is the most likely place for these bikes to fail. In this videos I reassemble everything from the piston up. This includes the piston, fitting the piston rings, bolting down the cylinder bore, the head, including cam chain tensioner, cam shaft, valve cover with lifters, the side covers, clutch components, gaskets, seals, oil tube and all the related hardware. With this completed, I'm ready to bolt it back into the frame.
The intent of these videos is to help beginners understand how these bikes work and how to fix them when they don't! Using parts from my years of collecting, I have almost everything to rebuild this bike except for a few small items and the major gaskets. By using used parts and simple tools, it is possible to do a lot of the work yourself and keep the cost of repairs to a minimum. Motorcycle engine repair doesn't need to be complicated.
