If we're talking about triangular angle and the parking lot, it would only make the angle a bit higher which means ends up in similar result. If we're talking about driver height, if he's higher, he would end up further from the edge of the parking lot (which is safer) Worst case it when the driver put himself at the most forward position of seat and also very short driver, it would make him harder to take measurements but ended up with similar result anyways I mean, if you sear yourself to be able to see the side mirror as the video said, it would just give similar result with different people

The next goal after passing the exam, is to forget every tip and trick, because what real drivers use instead, is the understanding of car size and geometry. If you don't understand it, you can't adapt, and finally you end up scratching someone's shit.
I taught my kids to use the mirrors when I taught them to drive, parallel park and the stop distance behind cars, too far versus too close. Also how to handle a Hydroplane & night driving, up hill & down hill driving and parking. They're 32, 33 & 39 now & good drivers. This is old news, but good!
This is all good info, and currently used by instructors to teach students to drive. I'm not sure about the 10cm, but using the side mirrors to stop at a line works every time. Drivers' height shouldn't play much of a part as they should adjust their seat accordingly. I loved the tip about splitting up the side mirror
Yeah... I don't get the comments. Everyone of them is a good tip. What a bunch of negative Nellie's... I'm having trouble understanding the first one about pulling up to a curb.. But I'll get it...

I think it's either a mistranslation or just straight up confidence from the video poster. But, the taller you are the bigger the gap. If the bonnet is a bit longer and/or one are on the shorter side, if thre is practically no gap left it could suggest a poor seating position. You could consider raising the seat height, or you could be slouching or reclining too much. If it's a sports car you just have to live with it. Most of the time their visibility is average at best.
I nearly pulled off my neighbour's car bumper this morning after watching this video. . . . . . . .when the rearview mirror aligns with the front of the car. . . . . . .
You used to be able to do things like this with the hood ornament back in the days of hood ornaments. You could just your cars position relative to stoplines and the like by aligning the hood ornament with the markings on the road.
Everything is based on your judgment and experiences. You cannot directly say that the position of the right bumper will be 10cms far. Of course it can be right to some extent but it's not always necessary that the driver is driving the same sedan he/she may have different cars and has set their seats based on their preferences. Some of the principles should be taken care of while taking front judgement or any judgement while parking your car but the way you said the length will be 10cm is surely a bummer.
I don't have a car but I started watching these kind of shorts more often.. 😂 However I think these thing gives you general idea about where to look at but one should keep in mind own car size like a sedan or hatchback or xuv.
Bad advise, I have used the left mirror to determine how far from the curb the car is. I have to learn for each car, because it is different for each car. Also if you see the side of the car in the side mirrors, you have a very large blind spot. You need to adjust the side mirrors so that when a car overtaking you is no longer visible in the rearview mirror, it appears in the side mirror.
The "split mirror" tip is ok BUT there is still a BLIND SPOT on either side mirrors. It is when the vehicle on either side's front end is right behind the driver's back. The ONLY way to be able to see this spot is by pasting a small convex mirror on the far end of the sideview mirrors. These are sold at automotive accessories stores 😁

"4 magical uses of rearview mirror" 1. First, do not judge the distance between the front of the car and the curb when parking. We stare at the left mirror, when the lower edge of the rearview mirror coincides with the upper edge of the curb. The distance is exactly 10cm. 2. Second, adjust the door handle of the left front door to the lower right corner of the left rearview mirror. Adjust the door handle of the right front door to the lower left corner of the right rearview mirror. At this time, whether it is looking at the roadside steps or the car coming from behind, it is the best view. 3. Third, when the front of the car goes out of the warehouses. When the rearview mirror is aligned with the front of the car next to it, you can drive out in whatever direction you want. 4. Four, we split the rearview mirror into two. It is safe to change lanes or make U-turn, when the behind vehicle is on the right half. When it appears on the left half, it means that the car behind is very close to you, so don't change lanes!
