    So many videos ask for a thumbs up, but when a guy goes out of his way to put a comprehensive how-to video and does such a good job with explanations, how can you not? For as many views, it's a shame there aren't more thumbs up. Thanks brother. Will be doing wifey's Altima this weekend.

    My 2017 Maxima has a non removal screen in the opening so this will not work, recommend you stay with Nissan fluid

    Great video. I’ll be doing this on my 2012 Altima. My question is: where do you get the tubing and what diameter should I buy?

      Hey, have you figured out what the diameter of the tubing is now? is it the 3/8 one?

    • @kdrexler
      @kdrexler Před 2 lety +5

      Yes - 3/8 inner diameter and 1/2 outer diameter. And then a brass hose barb to connect the two ends. I also used screw clamps to make sure no hoses slipped. Worked very well! I got the hose and barb at Home Depot.

      @@kdrexler Great! Thanks, Had he added all the supplies and where they were sourced in the video description so we would know what to look for would have been a great help. It wasn't in the PPV video either.

    Grear video, my question is over time, how has that amsoil still doing with that car? Because I'm thinking about doing that for my car.

    does the car need to on to turn the steering wheel?

    Would this make the steering “ease up “ or easier to steer if it’s starting to get a little stiff ??

    I just added 12oz of shop pro power steering fluid to my Nissan Altima 2013. Is that okay that I used regular power steering fluid or am I going to run into trouble?

    • @TheSadMusician
      @TheSadMusician Před 4 měsíci

      Hey you should be fine by adding but i do recommend flushing the old fluid out, so that your steering wheeling doesn’t start becoming hardened and tough to move
      Its not good to mix new and old power steering fluid

      I know this is a year ago, and if you haven't found the answer I used 3/8" ID hose and a fitting.

    How much is the amsoil power steering fluid?????

  • @lightningsmokerXx
    @lightningsmokerXx Před rokem

    @TheTunerdude - so you didnt use any more than the 2 bottles (16oz/473mL) , i see some people saying they used like 2 quarts / 2Litres.

  • @lightningsmokerXx
    @lightningsmokerXx Před rokem +1

    @TheTunerdude maybe i missed it - what size line (clear hose) did you use?

    • @lightningsmokerXx
      @lightningsmokerXx Před rokem +5

      So i did exactly this today - 3/8 inner diameter (or inner hole ) Clear PVC hose (Princess Auto/ Harbor Freight , Lowes , Home Depot ) used a windshield washer fluid container to drain into. Hose was 0.53 - 0.89 cents a foot. Got a 3/8 Hose Barb (brass) at Home Depot $3.70 and a 3/8 clamp . I used 2.5 of these Amsoil bottles and bought 3 total, i probably could have only used two, but i only used 4 feet of hose, and was concentrating too much on the color of the fluid which was dark red, thinking it would go totally clear, and not noticing that inside the end of the container i used that the hose was draining clear-brown-honey colored fluid out. So i prob used half a bottle more than needed, but i'd still reccomend getting three just in case . So 1.5Litres used or 1.6 Quarts aprox.

    Hello. Where did you buy the hose and connection tool? What’s the diameter of the hose? Thx

  • @amen_ra6926
    @amen_ra6926 Před rokem

    That was pretty straight forward. I was going to ask what diameter tubing you use but I see it was mentioned in an older comment.
    .
    If you're filling the reservoir and have that crimped tube on it, how are you getting the return hose back on a full container without it spilling all over the place? Are you letting the fluid get to the bottom so it's almost empty after it starts to run clear again so you don't lose that much then refill it before bleeding the air?

    Did you have to keep the car running to flush the fluid?

    • @TheSadMusician
      @TheSadMusician Před 4 měsíci

      The car is off the whole time, if you turn it on
      You will throw away all of your new power steering fluid
      Put a lug wrench and use that as a lever to turn your wheels👍
