- Top five things to do in Key Largo. Let me take you around and show you the best experiences this famous Florida Key has to offer. Key Largo is known for it's water activities like snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing. So, I went and tried them all. For underwater adventures like snorkeling and scuba diving in the Keys, there are a ton of shipwrecks and reefs to explore. I came upon a few big Barracuda swimming along so I followed them until I was way out past the designated snorkeling area. One of the best things to do in Key Largo is to enjoy all the cool happy hours around town. There are dozens of local bars serving up drinks seaside with live music and incredible sunset views that you need to come check out. Read more at tourist2townie.com

Great video I miss Key Largo used to go down there all the Time in the 60s and 70s where my aunt and uncle lived

Key Largo has changed quite a bit.. it used to be this quaint little compact, beautiful town. And now the big corps are taking it over.. more apartments..they're turning it into part of Miami and I hate it.
eat,drink,fish,dive,repeat..............................used to live there

You can get away with a few of these for free, but some will set you back a few bucks. If you're broke, buy some beers and head to any beach in Key Largo and just relax!

I know! I don't have my scuba certificate yet... I need to get it! I got "resort certified" in Mexico, but nobody would give me a expedited certificate (24 Hours) when I was in Key Largo.

You can also see the African Queen, the boat used in the movie The African Queen starring Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. In the movie Humphrey Bogart won Best Actor Oscar and nominations for Best Actress for Hepburn, Best Director for the Legendary John Houston and Best Screenplay which Houston shared with James Agee. It is listed on the US National Register of Historic Places . This is the very nice thing to see and do in Key Largo. The boat itself has been beautifully restored and takes visitors on Key Largo cruises. Fans of the classic movie can take 90-minute cruises on Key Largo canals or two-hour dinner trips on Friday and Saturday nights. Reservations are required.
Then there is the the exterior of the Caribbean Club in Key Largo, at Mile Marker 104 bayside which was used in the movie Key Largo also starring Humphrey Bogart with Edward G Robinson, Lauren Bacall, Lionel Barrymore and Claire Trevor who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar. It was directed by the legendary John Houston. This classic waterfront bar makes maximum use of that connection and is plastered with movie memorabilia. Yelpers liked it, calling it the quintessential dive bar.
Key Largo is worth a couple of nights stay or more. My Daughters wedding was held at the Key Largo Bay Marriott Resort with a fantastic ocean and palm tree backdrop. A feature of the reception was the song...wait for it - Sailing Away to Key Largo by Bertie Higgins. She danced with a very proud dad,, I must say, while the groom danced with his mom. The song was chosen for a specific reason not just for the location itself. We had stayed in Key Largo when she was 10 which was about the time the song was released. After staying in Key Largo we sang it while driving down US 1 on our to Key West. Both were very happy and memorable trips to this Caribbean paradise. Well worth visiting Key Largo for all the reasons in the video and here.
