I have polish chickens and every time i go into my chicken house, they start yelling at me and show me how happy they are to see me
They certainly do don’t they lol. One of my hens submits every time I walk up to it and it’s like pet me daddy pet me! I So Love my Polish Chickens ❤️🔥

I have an orange one called Taylor and she is the most affectionate little ginger muffin and follows me around 🥰
After years of chickens, we decided to branch out...just got our first 4 Polish ( buff laced) and have 5 black laced on order when hatched. We seriously wanted them for some humor...I mean, no matter how tired you are, you would have to stop and smile at these sweeties. Right now we have New Hampshire reds that are NEEDY...like, all day yelling "Mama"..."dad"...super sweet to anyone that walks into their run, very pretty, heavy layers...We also have barred rocks, again super sweet, heavy layers but not as needy. Our buff laced are now 6 days old (arrived 28 hours after hatching...awesome company) starting to get their speckles...one is on the needy side...the others are ok if you do or do not pick them up. We are so excited to start our journey with a different breed...PLUS no more duckling hatches this year...a LOt of work...but we do love our ducks.

Chickens have taught me that they absolutely love a 5 gallon bucket to lay in. But are very picky. I had a few 5 gallon buckets with sawdust in them in my garage I was using to mix into a fertile soil mixture and had 10 other nesting boxes and they decided that they will fight to get into a 5 gallon bucket. Believe it or not try it for yourself lol. So I added a few more buckets and out of 14 different nesting boxes. they’re two favorites being a dresser drawer out of an old dresser and a 5 gallon bucket but lay in several different buckets I have but definitely have a favorite out of all the different nests lol sometimes two will jump in the same bucket, and two will be waiting in line yelling at them to hurry up lol
That's SO interesting! Chickens really have their own likes, and it’s pretty funny how they prefer 5 gallon buckets and a dresser drawer for laying eggs over regular nests. It shows how unique they can be. Thanks for sharing this cool info!

How are the Roos when it comes to protecting the flock against predators..?
So I recently got a gold laced polish and I agree they are the sweetest except the roosters but that’s to be expected but nowhere as mean as my americanas and reds
My golden laced rooster Rambo has definitely earned his name. He is extremely protective of his pretty girls. That being said, I raised bulldogs most of my life and if you want to know how to make them gentle little lions, you have to put food in your hand and sit there and let them eat. Pick them up & pet them. That being said if you got your rooster when it was already crowing this is probably not very possible like trying to tame a mean bulldog a year or two years old into a friendly family dog is possible, but pretty dang difficult. But still very possible with lots of time. I say this, because I rescued a bulldog that was going to be put down for being a vicious dog that almost rip the leg off of a cops dog. Of someone’s house that was being raided. And me having the experience that I do with mean dogs most of my life, I signed some paperwork that I could turn this dog into a family dog at the time, having a 17-year-old boxer, almost on his death, bed and half a dozen cats and all my neighbors having children, and not once has he ever attacked anything, and now he is the laziest Gentle lapdog you could imagine at 97 pounds lol. And I rescued him when he was roughly 18 months old. Rambo, on the other hand, was roughly a year old when I got him and he’s not mean, but he spurred me once in my back and took a month for those 1 inch puncture wounds to heal it was pretty painful yet funny lol this happened when I wasn’t paying attention and was 1/2 way in one of the separation pins feeding some other birds. I assume he thought I was hurting his ladies
Adding to my last comment so now, when I hatch eggs, I feed them by hand for the first month. Yes it takes some time but to have protective & friendliness in the same package is a must

where can i buy hatching eggs?
We just got ours from valley hatchery. They all came in healthy and beautiful
I’m currently getting into this I actually have 53 eggs in my incubators now. Most are Golden Laced Crested Polish but a few are Splash “possibly Tolbunt” & a few Tuxedos “penguin looking” i’ve been encouraged to start a Facebook page and make it like a hatchery to sell eggs and chickens but I haven’t done it yet. 🤷🏻♂️ I’m still thinking about it, but it is a very likely possibility. I actually drove 13 hours and went to a farm auction to get mine. And yes I drove home 13 hours with two dozen chickens in my car. lol only managed to purchase 8 total Polish. Got a Solid white Silky hen & a dozen Highlander layers. I paid a decent amount for them. I won’t even lie, but I got the funky chickens that I wanted. I would’ve paid more.
Can they live easily in summer?
Polish chickens can easily live in the hot summer days, but you need to offer them extra care: providing shade, fresh water, good airflow in their coop, and watching for signs of heat stress to keep them cool.
What kind of heat are we talking? Just curious what parts of the world are you from? I answered your question in a different video a little earlier but yeah, a fan may be a good idea in your coop, but I would definitely suggest at least one solid open end and windows on the other side to have good airflow.
My hens used to be in a coop with my polish and they pecked her feathers out so now she has her own mansion
