@@darcytcossthanks for your caring enough to reply. I never used to tell people, well , back in late 90s I tried to tell some what happened with "EOE" And " Men" I thought were good dudes rolled their eyes at me while others called me that useless "racist" . So I stopped talking about . Same with the auto accident.
2002 was the auto accident that gave me those injuries. . It was complete H*LL for about 8 years. Wouldn't wish it even on the illegal who hit me .
I should be dead honestly. 7 years of prescription opiates. Thank you God for lifting me up tho and it's 12 years since I used them. Oddly enough I fired All the "pain management" Doctors and started following my instincts. While my Injuries are still there and have days that totally suck, my brain is crystal clear and I am a heckofalot healthier .
For those reading this that want to know , how did I know it was an Illegal. After my ears stopped ringing from being rear ended at a read light at 50mph , I looked in my rear view and dudes head was on the steering wheel. I thought he'd had a heart attack or something so I got out to see if I could help . When I got to his window his head popped up , said a buncha crap in Spanish I didn't understand, as I held my license up pointing to it asking ' where's yours" he took off and side swiped my truck , dontcha know the off ramp to I95 was right there and he was gone. I had a cellphone ( yes in 2002 I had one for work) I called gave the plate number. But you guessed it , it was a stolen tag..
My message to all reading this , the amount of Illegals on the road then was obviously high for that to happen, it's quadruple now so be extra vigilant when driving people. Use your mirrors even when at a stop. "They just want a better way of life" and YOURS doesn't matter at all.
Edit - I thought God hated me for a long time , to allow those things to happen to me when all I did was work my ass off . Then I realized God Loved Me or I'd have not survived it was "my" Government that Hated me!

I’m currently dealing with a serious flare up of sciatica pain on my left side (stemming from a 2014 car accident) and recently learned that since 2014 I have developed disc degeneration in L1,2 & 3, and it seems that L3,4& 5 have fused together. I guess that I have been very lucky to not experience daily back pain up until the beginning of August. Now I’m using physical therapy, heat/ice, stretching and core strengthening exercises, as well as gabapentin and methocarbamol and Tylenol to manage the daily pain. It has been frustrating to manage such pain/issue after having to have ankle surgery in June ( due to passing out 2 weeks after gastric sleeve surgery and basically detaching all the ligaments/tendons in my left ankle) , BUT it has also given me further motivation to get healthier, and to take a holistic approach to doing so. There was a period when I required prescription pain pills to manage the pain from my back/sciatica, but I’m glad that hasn’t been the case for at least 4 weeks.

I used to be fit and athletic and I really let myself go after the herniations. It scares me that I had back surgery when I was so heavy. I wish my surgeon would've encouraged me to lose the weight and build strength first before having the surgery.

This has to be my worst flare up going on for about 3 months now. I went from only being able to ride in the car for short periods, to only being able walk, to now bed ridden. I don't what I did to cause this but I just got through a really bad spasm that had me in the fetal position, shaking uncontrollably, and crying my eyes out after getting out of bed to walk for just 10 seconds. This has completely turned my life upside down and into a living hell.

I have 7 herniated discs, degenerative discs disease, arthritis, scoliosis and stenosis in my spine. I had sciatica which was removed with one session of hijama (wet cupping). I also have osteoarthritis in my knees and I’m in my 30s.
I’ve avoided surgery by doing the following
    1. Hijama every month on my back and neck. Did it on my leg when I had sciatica and removed it.
    2. Removed sugar from my diet
    3. Stopped doing HIIT
    4. No sudden movements but rather con trolled ones. That’s means do Zumba, jump squats etc. however I do squats and when I lift heavy I do using machines.
Used to love walking lunges and instead I stick to leg presses. No kick backs
And yeah I didn’t used to use a weight lifting belt because I was too good for it, psh. I use it now when cleaning the home or putting dishes into dishwasher.

The key is its not about the discs. Those actually can be healed. However, that said, you want to increase your capacity in that area in regard to movement. (this is why you're asking about decompression) But that only comes with ability, and that only comes with a level of competency and strength in that area. Building up lower back strength isn’t always the cure to back pain. Your pain and the strength are not necessarily related. Your back may have been weak and I was a result of it. Hi I had a disc herniation on 19 may 2023,now I started sitting again and it is causing stiffness in back.I have to sit for 10 hours daily.I had stopped it for 3.5 months.but what to do now.does this stiffness means I m not fit now?

    • @shweeps
      @shweeps Pƙed 11 měsĂci +1

The stiffness might be your disc starting to bulge out again, basically the step before full herniation.
That stiffness is your back telling your it needs to decompress (sitting compresses your disks). Make sure you're taking frequent standing breaks every 30min-1h just enough to stretch and allow ur back to decompress a bit.
Since it's already stiff I can give some tips on what i do when my back is stiff:
Try and take a 10-20 min walk before and/or after work.
Back stretching movements (can google this)
If you can, just let yourself gently hang from a pull up bar or something, where your feet aren't touching the ground, this will pull your spine apart letting your disks have some space and decompress that way (Be very careful not to be rough when you do this, I tried to like bounce up and down one time while hanging to try and pop my back but ended up herniated)
If you can, try and get a prescription of some time of anti-inflammatory/painkiller you can take when it starts acting up (I take Ibuprofen 800mg and gabapentin 100mg together).
      Hope this helps.

You need to work on your core. The back muscles are not all the problem.

You are absolutly correct. Core, includes the back, hips, glutes, ect all can be the solution. It all depends on each person.
