  • We are looking at the town's last moments as we have always know it as the lava from the second fissure is about to burn down the first residential houses. It was evacuated last night when the earthquakes started so there have been no injuries but it's clear that we are going trough a terrible event and the future of the town looks bad. When this upload is ready, I'm off to Reykjavik from there I will do my report as long as I have to. Check the links until then.

      Unfortunately, natural disasters are increasing rapidly. We all need to be prepared to face them. Learn what to do in different disasters, prepare emergency evacuation backpacks, and at least a week's supply of food and water in case of a loss of electricity, water and heating.
      But the most important thing everyone needs to do now is to start talking openly about our biggest problem - climate and the true cause of its change - 12,000-year cosmic cycle.
      All the details and solution on how to avoid the demise of the planet and all of humanity are voiced here: "Global Crisis. The Responsibility"

    Thank you for this update. I am so sorry to hear that this beautiful fishing village is facing such incredible hardship.
    Sending love from the High Desert in Oregon, surrounded by the Cascade Mountains.
    Our demographics here are built on previous volcanic activity. What you are experiencing could happen to us. Our mountains are dormant but not dead. Mount Hood shows seismic activity from time to time. The South Sister has a growing bulge on the West side. My guess is; it’s not over until they say so.
    Love and light to you all❤

    • @dod2304
      @dod2304 Před 4 měsíci

      My understanding is they're not all dormant at all. It's just been. some time since they've erupted. Mt. St. Helens showed that in the '80's. I'm not trying to be an alarmist, but I've seen a few documentaries that says the tectonic plates that the cascades are part of will, at some time, produce earthquakes and tsunamis like nothing the west coast has ever seen. As bad if not worse as the Alaskan earthquake in the 60's, but more widespread.

    • @marleiseturner4689
      @marleiseturner4689 Před 4 měsíci

      @@dod2304 I get where you are coming from. Someday this all could happen. Dormant just means inactive so right now they are dormant not dead. If you look at the USGS EARTHQUAKE App you can see all the earthquakes in real time around the World. I grew up in the Central Coast Range Mountains here in Oregon. I wouldn’t say you’re an alarmist. We hear this all the time. The plates are always moving real estate around and that is how hills and mountains are formed. When Mt. St Helen’s erupted in March of 1980, it was just so incredible to see that plume of ash move through the sky on just the most beautiful sunny Sunday morning. I shall never forget it. Now I live on the East side of the Cascade Mountains and I can see Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top, Mt. Washington, Mt Jefferson, the Three Sisters from my home. If I want to drive a couple of miles North Mt. Hood comes into view. I live in one of the most beautiful parts of Oregon and it takes around 30 minutes to drive up to Mt. Bachelor if you want to go skiing. In the Summer you can ride the lift to the top and on a clear day you can see Mt. Shasta in California. I do hope that we don’t have anymore eruptions, earthquakes or tsunami’s anytime soon. We try not to think about it anyway. My heart goes out to all the people in Grindavik right now.

    Thank you for presenting this in the english language. Your pronciation is pretty good. I understood you. I do not know if you have a version in German. Not my native tounge, but the only other language I can squeak by with. As a persom native and living in the US, Please continue putting your content out. English as a second language is somewhat problematic. Everyone reading this whom speaks a different primary language knows this. Nature will move on with or without us. God speed kindness and support for the fellow human beings, (our world family), who are living through this.

    Before going to bed last night one of the webcams streaming live on YT was recommended to me. This was about an hour after the first fissure opened up. Knowing nothing else than what I saw on the screen I did not think it would be a very good night for Grindavik.
    Thank you for your update. The future is still so unclear and the end no where in sight. May you all have the strength to continue on.

    Gylfi, over the months, I have been watching your wonderful videos and fell in love with Iceland. Thank you. This is crushing news about the Grendavik community as we think of the Grendavik residents, you, Icelanders, and everyone around the world who holds a special place for Iceland. It is hard to watch and read about what is happening. Indiana, USA sends our thoughts for everyone's safety, strength and peace. I am sorry.

    Iceland used to pump water onto the lava, strategically of course. This solidified it and built up a wall to divert the lava away from the town. I know it was another town and the situation must have been different. But there was no attempt shown here. Maybe it was considered. If not then get on with it

    Heartbreaking scenes. Poor people of Grindavik living with so much uncertainty for so many months, and just when it was looking like disaster was avoided, they now suffer again. Looking at your 3D rendition of the town it is very sad to see the path the lava will take and the houses that are in danger's way. Thank you for your reporting. Our hearts go out to the people of Grindavik.
