  • Arma is basically synonym to bad optimization, after Arma 2, Arma 3 and beginnings of DayZ, it's pretty safe to say well optimized games are not something that Bohemia Interactive shine at. With full conversion to Enfusion Engine for the first time ever, we can have idea how well Arma 4 will run.
Enfusion still struggle with bunch of mods turned on, on high population servers, but it's not that bad as it used to be. It's still long way to go to Arma 4 release, many things can still change. For example the game is running on DirectX 12, but does not support any upscaling technique except for FSR 1.0, and there are no plans to implement FSR 3 or DLSS 3.7. Which is sad.

Thanks for your efford! I too spent hours in optimizing and making notes. My conclusions for best custom: Model Geometric Detail and Terrain surface detail can be maxed out to "Ultra" without effecting your fps. They are static (loaded into GPU memory). Environment quality can easily go to 'good', its not an FPS eater. Object shadows can be turned off (it's an FPS eater and does only add some details that wont be missed). All other shadow things can go to medium. Reflection to high. Then we have HW AA what you can set to 2x or 4x depending on your preference. (2x is barely noticeable on fps but adds so much more sharpness) as it will give you more sharpness in distance, able to recognise enemy from foe. Just my own experience based on running Reforger in 1440p on a budget rtx4060.

No, thank you for your effort. Anyway I do use this settings because I feel like I can see the best and it does not look so shitty. For example Object shadows do affect FPS, but the game looks way better and not "flat". Before I posted this video, I've searched for people's settings and basically everyone is running different settings, so it's really about personal preference what you want to sacrifice - visuals or framerate.
