Amazon Echo Show 10 vs Google Nest Hub Max - Which is the Best?

  • Amazon's latest flagship Echo Show 10, now swivels and follows you around. Creepy. The Google Nest Hub Max is the best that the search giant has to offer. Which 10-inch smart display reigns supreme?
The new Amazon Echo Show 10 arrived not too long ago. We've done a separate review that you can find at this link - • Echo Show 10 - Alexa I... .
The main feature that makes the latest 3rd generation Echo Show 10 apart from its predecessors is the rotating screen that, creepily, follows you around. It also tilts manually, around 40 degrees up and down. You can use the settings to tweak it to suit your needs. Other upgrades include a faster processor and a new four-microphone array. A Zigbee hub is built-in for great smart home product compatibility and integration.
The Google Nest Hub Max has not received any updates since its launch back in late early 2020. But it remains the top smart display in the search giant's arsenal. The screen is somewhat smaller at 10 inches vs the 10.1 inches of the Echo Show, but that's just splitting hairs. The Nest Hub Max has received many software updates and, for the most part, is extremely stable. It benefits greatly from the power of Google's search engine, making the Nest smart assistants, historically, a little more intelligent when answering questions and queries.
The question is, which is the better overall smart display? Which one does what it asks better? Well, we've put both through a battery of real-world tests that should give you a good understanding of each device and its potential weaknesses and strengths.
While we recommend watching the entire story, you can skip around using the chapter index below. Give it a try!
    00:00 - Introduction
00:57 - Voice Command Speed Test
    01:53 - Microphone Range Test
    03:17 - Smart Home Control
06:20 - Who is Smarter? Alexa or Google?
    07:54 - Video Calling
10:20 - Speaker and Audio Tests
11:54 - Conclusion and Final Thoughts
We hope the tests we used were useful to you and helped you decide which smart assistant is best for you. If there are any questions on either the Google Nest Hub Max or the Amazon Echo Show 10, definitely leave your comments below. We love hearing from you!

I might point out that when it comes to timers Alexa is way easier to handle timers from any device. I use timers all day. The fact Alexa will pop up a notification on my phone when a timer ends or I can turn them off and change them from any other Alexa device or app I have registered. They also won’t turn off a timer without my say so.

Amazon Alexa is the best for home automation, it has the most skills,.
Also, Google can't add a device to more than 1 room or group; example: kitchen and family room are adjacent to each other and I want the lights in both room to turn
off if I say all, as well as independently turning off either room.
Alexa is inexpensive so I bought 8 to equip every room with Amazon Alexa for voice control so that I can just ask 'turn off the lights' and the echo in that room
knows to turn off those lights and not other lights in the house.

It's great that you're not running into any issues with your Canadian account as not all Google services operate identically even across the US border.
