I saw Kelly in 2003 in Newark, NJ... the venue was small and she just had a band and a bunch of jewel toned pillows all over the stage. Most of the concert was her sitting on the pillows or standing in one spot and it was hands down one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Her voice had me speechless then and somehow it's only gotten better. She is in a league of her own! Love you, KC!!

just came across when watching robyn's video...i have to say that i'm blown away...i mean, i knew kelly could sing but come on!! i have a whole new appreciation for her. i've always attached "first american idol winner" to her but i'm thinking thats a disservice to her talent. she is a star, but more importantly, she is an artist and a true vocalist.
that being said...any & all covers of robyn's original, no matter how great, will never top it (imho). i think of all the covers as a tribute! it says something when artists from all genres cover a song...

@@mariapulley577 you never know what really happens with a couple behind closed doors. How they were all happy on her live instagram few weeks before and then she filed for divorce a week later. It's like crazy stuff happens. Guess we will never know what happened. Maybe she will share some of it on her upcoming album. Musicians tend to pour their heart out in their music. It's therapy for them. So maybe she will tell us in her album.

Superb. I remember watching her season of American Idol with my wife and after a couple episodes we were like, "yeah, that girl is pretty good...". No goose bumps or anything (which is a ridiculous standard..right?) But then there was this one performance that was damned near jaw-droppingly good. The rest is history.

I don't agree that Kelly is our #American Adele. Kelly is our #American Kelly and so underrated. We give Adele more respect and I don't think Adele can put over the emotions into a song that Kelly can.
Kelly rose first on the stardom before Adele. It is a faulty comparison. They are both great but cannot be compared.
