I listened to this CD in my car almost every day when it first came out, on a long commute home from work. I've loved their stuff since ATDI. I've got everything, but this recording really makes me feel a certain way...
Just commented this on another video. I listened to this album heavily for a while because I love it but I too felt bad things happen when I listen…which sucks…These bad events seemed to coincide with my heavy listening of the Mars Volta in general so at first I just completely stopped listening to them. But I couldn’t keep away and now I listen to every other album but this one. I remember reading about this album being cursed but not thinking twice about it until after these events.
I will admit I was at a pretty low time in my life anyway during this and have drunkenly listened to it since then with no known negative effects. But for the longest time I made it a point to not listen to it anytime something important was coming up or was nervous about something.
The weirdest part is I completely ignored this album at first since I just didn’t like it at all. Then after hearing some songs it slowly grew on me to the point it became one of my favorites, like it drew me in.
I listened to the song Metatron on NYE 2023 and I think everything is ok, but can’t say the same for the world around me. I am not religious or superstitious but was raised both. Also, drugs were not involved. Could it be the power of suggestion? I like to think of it as just a bad coincidence. Anyone else?
I’m actually getting a sleeve done in 2 weeks of this album with the ouija board below “bleeding” lyrics from the album down to my wrist. So glad to see someone cover this story. Thanks man!
Don't forget that the whole point of the final version of the album was to actually "trap" the entity in the album so to speak, and they used aspects santeria within the recording and lyrics etc. To help this

I only bought this album because of the cover, never heard of them before but wow I became a fan, Latin Crimson!
I had heard of them and only heard one song, the widow, long before and had forgotten. I stumbled upon a copy of amputecture at the Borders in my town at the time of it being their most recent, something... Pushed me into getting it. It changed my life.
This deserves way more views, mate. I’ve been waiting for someone to tell the whole story in one video. Lol Great content!

Incredible story. Darkness is all fun and games until you get seriously entangled in it. Whether a sort of autosuggestion or obscure type of energy radiation, impossible to be measured by current means of science but affecting our behaviour - some objects or ideas are ought not to be played with. Like you come into a house and you know it's a bad place.
It's a crazy world we live in that's full of inexplicable events! You never what could happen!

i dont really believe in spirits and stuff but im not against the idea of them existing, i started listening to this album a lot a while ago and ever since then, bad things keep happening in my life constantly, i think it's just coincidence, but it's a strange one
I had so many weird things happen with this album. It would always play out of order on my iTunes and when I copied over to a CD. The song titles were always fucked up when it transferred to my iPod.
Even weirder, when my friend got me it on vinyl, it came with two copies of the C and D side. Bummer, cuz I’m looking online now and the black and red version I have is worth $250-350

I don't know that I believe the story, but it's a really fun concept, and it's one of my favorite TMV albums regardless. If there is anything cursed about the music itself though, it's the Mr. Muggs bonus track that comes with the vinyl record. That shit is some of the creepiest music I've ever heard.

unsolicited tip: I come from a family with a background in Brujeria , mostly in "white magic." Though I don't practice it myself, their advice on oujia boards or any cursed items is when getting rid of it, in most cases, you must give it away as a gift if you want to purge yourself of nefarious entities. Can't be discarded or abandoned

Never got to see them live but one time I took two sugar cubes and listened to deloused, same thing? Or maybe better? Either way it was profound and the only time I used spiritual substances without extreme anxiety and overwhelming sense of fear.
Deloused is by far my favorite album, and would be an epic one to trip through

I just bought "The Bedlam In Goliath" on vinyl. It came with "Mr. Muggs" as a separate vinyl record. I was too afraid to spin it because I don't mess with Ouija related stuff. Thanks for confirming my fear. This is terrifying!😶🌫️😱

@@5ld734 the album is a masterpiece for sure. But Mr. Muggs is on a separate vinyl record and isn't really part of the original release of the album. I guess it's a b-side?
I listened to an upload of it on CZcams. It's really a song in any traditional sense. It's noise. It would make a creepy background/ambient sound to superimpose a melody over. But other than that, it's pretty unremarkable.
The lyrics to this album are nightmare fuel--in a good way.
Never understood the Jonestown /Jim Jones connection with the album, I mean, the song Goliath is about him.

Every time I played the album & Frances every day since I loved it so much when I first listened to it, but it would make me start vomiting right in the middle of Tourniquet Man. I learned the entire album just through a stream of consciousness on guitar & was able to sing most of it except the ridiculous pitch shifty parts Cedric does. So I started doing that because I loved the riffs & music. Then my life & health started deteriorating. I just stopped listening to it altogether & that helped for a while but related or unrelated, I started getting very weak & worsened a condition called EDS which would make my bones dislocate. My muscles stopped growing & eventually entered a state of atrophy.
My sister has a good friend who is an automatic writer, a legit one. &She started paying attention to me & something was attached hardcore to me. It had taken up residence through what she said was “an old box with writing” & it hated my TV. We figured it was an old box above my tv. We threw it into a lake. She said it had left after that and a lengthy session where it wouldn’t leave me. Shit was trippy.
I’m not better & my life has only got worse with a friend or family member passing every year & my body getting disabled but she says I’m clean now. That’s good to know at least. Thank god.
You might not actually be clean. Things can "hide" and pretend that they've been cleared out, but they are only fooling an inexperienced practitioner. Your sister's friend seems to have more strengths in automatic writing, than she does with clearing away entities/energies.
It may be worthwhile to get a second, and third opinion on wether or not you are actually clean. If you actually were, your life would have seen an improvement in some aspect, which is not what you described.

The fact that they are selling merch off of the event means Its 100% a publicity stunt. They would never want to tamper with anything related to it if it really caused that much harm.

True to an extent. By the time of TBIG, they claimed they had laid off the hard stuff though I don't recall if they said they dropped it altogether or decreased use.

Entities are common hallucinations, with this type of change. We have some detailed studies on the brain, mental illness, with reoccurring themes of the Jester, eyes, great evil, and great good. These are being seen in psychedelic research as well. Nothing to date is evidence outside the brain or in our universe/dimension. I saw the interview, they admitted being high during this time.

But they also can alter our states of consciousness, "opening" the mind of the user to extracorporeal events - which can be easily misinterpreted as a simply hallucination.
The fact that these metaphysical events occured inside their head, doesn't necessarily change the fact that it was real.
