Fun fact: Lincoln Red Imps did compete in the Conference League group stage last year, they did pretty well for a Gibraltar side too, not having 7-0 losses or something like that
They just need to keep getting there now!

They're also the club in the world with the most trebles, having consistently won the rock cup, the Gibraltar Premier league and the Gibraltarian super cup.
The team Real Madrid played in the first season, Spartaks Jūrmala, have actually folded now. They were unable to afford a licence for the Virsliga this season and have not competed since. Such a shame because Jūrmala is a lovely town that deserves good football.
Ikr, sad to see it. Heard of it but are there any other Latvian teams struggling and folding or dropping leagues because of financial reasons?
@@SK-io2no A few have recently. Most notably Skonto, the most successful team in Latvian history that provided a lot of the 2004 squad, went bust several years ago and essentially reformed as Riga FC (the team I support). A handful of teams have dropped down the leagues or folded since. Football is not well supported in Latvia compared to hockey and basketball, so there is a lack of investment. The professionalisation of the Virsliga (as well as TV coverage and licencing such as the deal with Sports Interactive) has improved things a lot, but as we have seen with Spartaks it isn't a panacea.
@@scpjack7856 Oh yeah. Well the situation in Estonia is somewhat similar although the better teams have been stable for quite some times, the most recent giant to go out of business (or more the club got into financial problems and nowadays from there it departed and two separate clubs exist in lower leagues of Estonia) was Infonet and that happened around 2016. But during recent years teams have said no to promotion to top tier cuz of finance reasons and mid to bottom table teams have struggled with finances, most importantly the likes of Viljandi Tulevik which gave away it's Estonian Premier League position two years ago to compete on lower league. And ofc the scandals of Maardu. But for some the struggles of others are lifeline's as for example Pärnu Vaprus has thanks to others withdrawing survived relegation whilst being dead last in league.
@@SK-io2no Thanks for the insight, always interesting to learn more about football from around the world (I am from England but started following the Virsliga after doing an FM save with Riga). A similar situation to Parnu Vaprus happened in Latvia. Supernova were relegated humiliatingly last season, but were allowed to stay because of Spartaks folding, and they are now being humiliated this season as well.
@@scpjack7856 Yes, it does happen. To give some credit to Pärnu Vaprus is that this season they are fantastic. Pretty cool to see that FM has made you follow Virsliga. Me on the other hand have found my favourite non-league team in England thanks to managing them in FM, Croydon :) Btw sorry for my poor English language, as you can tell i'm from Estonia.

College Europa are also in the 4th tier at the end of the sim. Also I am noticing that because there are 8 Spanish Teams in the Andorran top tier, it means every season the promotion is alternating between last season's relegated club and the best Andorran team still in the Andorran league

Would say Premier League + Championship Top 4 with Wales & Northern Ireland just to fully empty out the Premier League

Interesting Prize Money didnt have an effect since some of the better Andorran and Gibraltarian sides in the first few seasons should have earned quite a lot of money that might have helped them stay at least in the 2nd division

Dude, I might be wrong on this, specially because I’m a portuguese that doesn’t speak Catalan, but I believe Engordany is read like Engordañ. At least in Catalan they write Catalunha as Catalunya, as well as Espanyol for the football club.

Yeah Tom you need to do this for with England swapping with Wales Scotland and Ireland
It would be interesting to change the leagues, those that are in the database and those of the smallest countries in Europe, and distribute the big teams equally. Eg Real Madrid to Andorra, Barcelona to Gibraltar, Man City to San Marino, PSG to the Slovakia league... things like that and see if in years, European football will even out.
You should do this with Germany, Luxembourg and Litchenstien

The in game editor is a part of the base game. Just make sure to toggle it on when you set up a new save.
