Thursday, August 29, 2024: It warms my heart that you visited the state of Querétaro where Jorge and I live with our happy dog Buddy. The Sierra Gorda of Querétaro is very much worth visiting. The town of Pinal de Amoles is lovely. ¡Saludos! Joseph (Pepe) Quillian

I like how you show some of these small towns and villages in Mexico that most Americans never heard of .I always tell people there is more to Mexico than Mexico city,Puerto Vallarta,Cancun all these tourist places. When you get to these small towns and cities that are not popular with tourist you find real charm and good food and many other great experiences and deals .

Patzcuaro, Michoacan, 70,000 people, near the capitol Morelia. Lago de Patzcuaro , peaceful, not to small, Noche de Muertos, Purepeche, insexpensive. Eternal spring, Been here 10 yearrs, will never leave!

@@boni9384 ! I come from Seattle, WA. Believe me it is far more dangerous in Seattle than where I live. Don't get me started on the time I spent in Texas! If you were a foreigner reading about what is going on in the US, you woulld never go there! 10 years and I have had seen no cartel violence where I live. Certainly, as with any place, there are places to stay away from. But Patzcuaro, a Pueblo Majico and the Capitol, Morelia 30 miles away, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is pretty much free of that violence. There is poverty, so there is the usual crime. But I can walk the streets here at night with impunity! The general population do not own guns, or they never show it. There is no road rage and the Mexican people are courteous to a fault! I have many Mexican friends. One is Doctor who has personally attended to me at my home on 2 occasions when I needed it.

Beautiful video! You are very bold and brave venturing alone. You are my kind of girl. I would live in a less touristic and quiter town if I speak Spanish. It is intimidating to imagine starting a new life alone in the place without speaking Spanish. So far from the videos, Mexico is amazingly beautiful. I wish you the best!

I know you prefer a dry climate, but my wife and I just spent time in the Xalapa/Coatepec area and really enjoyed it. Xalapa is a university town, so a cultural/intellectual center. It's a good size at about 500K people. We're defintely going back. But we may be the opposite of you, preferring the lush jungle-y areas south of Mexico City.

That's really kind of you. To tell the truth, all pueblos are a bit challenging for me with the dogs. There's just not a lot of open space, or if there is I don't know where. Once we settle somewhere I'm sure we will find great places to walk.
