Tell them to shut the fuck up . Color doesn't matter ! But sometimes we don't sound like we have soul , but we do !
All of God's children have soul
Idiots may say they're appropriating Black music. No. They were *honoring* it.
đŻ.
Twon, you have absolutely nothing to apologize for!!.
Nobody we truly loves the channel was offended.
â@@TheScottEFđŻ
Saying Color doesn't matter is not racist! Ignore the haters! It was called Blue Eyed Soul. Great music is great music. Period!!
Black people: like white people, only infinitely cooler, speaking in my official capacity as spokesman for the whities. Iâve been told by the group to inform you that weâre getting tired of being lame!
Absolutely! Great music is universal and transcends race, culture, generations, etc.
â€
Young man I'm a 74 year old white woman. I love hearing your reaction to the music I've heard all my life. No you are not racist, just keep up the good work keeping great music alive.
Righteous bros always make me weak at the knees! Young guys need to learn the way to a woman's heart. When they first came out everyone was surprised they were white when they saw them for the first time.
This is awesome!! â€ïžâ€ïž
Tell it like it is right on
Old conservative. white lady here, you are not racist. Loved your genuine reaction!
â€
The Righteous Brothers actually got their name from black audiences. According to Bill Medley, when they were performing as a group called The Paramours on a Marine base, the black marines would shout out things like âThat was righteous, brothas!â, and would call them the ârighteous brothersâ when they greeted them, so he and Bobby decided to adopt it as their name when they went duo.
No. It was black and white marines. Where did you get your info?
â€
First, donât worry about the haters. And when the Righteous Brothers came out, EVERYONE thought they were black. Itâs not like there was social media or even cable tv. Music is meant to make people FEEL... white, black, Latino, whatever. Thatâs why itâs called the universal language. And every rock band has borrowed from old blues singers. The Beatles, Stones, Presley, they all cite black artists as inspirations. Iâm just glad we as an audience get to experience all of it!
My whole high school was in a state of shock after their first appearance on TV. They're WHITE???? You could hear it all over school. Kids were shocked but also kind of proud. It was a mixing of cultures. It was something great that hopped boundaries. It was perfect.
I'm always saddened that a lot of black music and strayed away from rock roots, seldom even hear a guitar anymore :(
Music makes you feel
RACE CATEGORIES
Unique interpretation of music n why we think the way we do.
Interesting
My SHARE
WE are ALL THE SAME SPECIES
Everybody around the World can sing SOUL BLUES, Rock, Country Western, heavy Metal.
AND singers can sing every GENRE of music.
We USA citizens have been programmed to think like the People who made up ALL THE RACE/Ethnicities Categories.
Same Species
There were Black American Radio stations that wouldn't
Play the Righteous Brothers
Because they were White.
LOL
RACISM IS used BY OUR USA government to keep US (A) citizens from uniting n achieving Real Power for the People
AND to keep US (A)
Citizens occupied n Not pay attention to what the
Top 500 are really doing.
Omg ignore the haters we all know some people's 'sensitivity level' is ridiculous these days! Keep up the great reactionsđ
They do sound like soul brothers. That's why their music is called Blue Eyed Soul
Brother I am a 72 year old Vietnam Vet white man, I consider what you said as one of the highest things you could say to a singer. I like your style and even more I like that you like the " Blue Eyed Soul " of the RB's. I will stand with you if you need me.
They called it "Blue eyed soul". Janis Joplin's favorite singers, that influenced her greatly were Billie Holliday and Aretha Franklin. ...
Music is just music ... it doesn't have a color ... it starts somewhere, .... but once it's out there, it's everyone's.
Ralph Kern; Very well put sir! đđđ
The righteous Brothers were so great. It didnât matter what race was it was just singing that counted.
This song wasnât played on the radio because the lyrics were considered too raunchy for that time period! Ha! Great reaction!!
Lol. Now they praise cardi b talkin bout her wet a** hoohaa. đđđ
Blue eyed soul is how they got their name from black audiences calling out 'thats righteous brother'. Check out Bobby doing Summertime. They are great in solos and unbeatable as a duo. Happy you liked them.
You are making me make "that face" again kid! I love watching young people react to older songs and different genres of music. Keep it up!
So two men listened to soul music and really liked it. It spoke to them. They internalized it so much it started coming out of them. That's just a pure compliment. How could you not react to that? Haters will always spew hate. Just erase their comments and move on.
Love your reactions. Don't let the people point fingers at you and accuse you of racism. They are just looking to jump on anyone. If you're happy, they're unhappy. You keep doing you, honey. That's what makes your channel unique.
Long time ago CHRLIE PRIDE sang country music. He was a great black artist. People acted stupid then too. He didn't let it stop him. Not my kind of music, but I admired him. You're doing a great job.Dont listen to ifiots.
We all know "soul" when we hear it. OFTEN ... very often...blacks have it. Sometimes whites and others have it too. It's great whoever has it!!
What they are singing MISSISSIPPI DELTA BLUES.
Colour matter for what talented people will be promoted (more so then than now), but talent still remains talent. And damn, were these two talented.
People that have a problem with what you said will never be satisfied. Stay honest like you are, that's what's real.
Oh hell. The whole world acts like babies. R we 3????? Grow up ppl. Leave this man alone. I love ur reactions and love ur input. Ur only speaking the truth. The rb r totally underrated. They wouldn't even play their music on white radio back in the day cuz they sounded too black. So there. Come on.
they wouldn't let their music play????crazy!..n thank you Debbie
So glad those days are gone. Sam Cookeâs song â Change is Gonna Come â although almost sixty years ago, things have changed. To think I could not listen to you or if you wanted to go on a TV dance show, you had to be the entertainment. We canât let them in power to take us back. Vote every time as if your life depends on it.
Speak it Debbie! Speak that truth.
It's possible that James Brown was imitating them, that he liked their
style. The Righteous Brothers were the "Blue-Eyed Soul" singers of my day!
They DO sound like "brothers!" That's the point....Their story is adorable. They sang at a club in Southern California where black marines came in. After hearing them, they said, "That's RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS!" And the rest is history.
Tell the haters to go eff off. Noticing skin color doesn't make a person racist. A racist is someone that feels their race is superior to others.
You point out that the Righteous Brothers don't fit into they stereotypical "white singer" sound. That isn't racist. It is called a stereotype because the majority of people in the specific group adhere to a specific norm. Not all stereotypes are about race; they can be about locations, jobs, political parties, marital status; the possibilities are endless. So long as you don't pigeonhole a person into ALWAYS having to adhere to a stereotype it is okay to recognize them.
Personally I get a kick out of young people reacting to older music. By admitting that I am actually stating that there is a stereotype of younger generations not appreciating the music of the past.
You sir, have another subscriber. Keep listening to new and different music. I love your reactions.
Well said!
Truth brother.
Amazing that this duo sing such a wide variety of songs showing such diversity !! This one is quite different from most of their songs, but one can't sit still when hearing it. Another different style is Summertime performed by Bobby Hatfield--a must see !! Check out Bobby's love songs, the inspirational ones, rock, doo wop and more--you will be hooked on these so talented guys like we were in the 60's. Enjoy !! Cathy
Bill sounds even more bluesy than Muddy Waters' original, imo. Music has no colour đ Loved your reaction!
Donât feel bad. You donât have to defend yourself. It was nice tho. Everything you said was fact. I learned a long time ago when people say messed up things itâs usually all about them and not you. Great reaction. đ€â€ïž
We listened to this growing up and never thought of color,we just loved loved good music,60s and 70s were the greatest music of all time,we in Alabama love watching you react to our music â€â€â€â€â€â€â€
Me also and I lived in Michigan listening to Motown, but seeing them perform was Magic and always loved their music..â€
I love watching you listen to this song. It's great seeing you appreciate the old songs. Your whole face lights up when you smile, it's great!! Screw the haters, ignore them. Just Do You!! Great Reaction!
"Whats the matter baby" is also a great example of his vocal talent. Its on an older album of songs not played on popular radio. The theme is the opposite of unchained melody.
Talent and music matters. Everything else is just flotsam and jetsam. Great entertainers last forever, no matter race, religion, creed, sex, nationality, or home planet. Tall, short, pretty, plain. All that matters is the true ability
Twon this is the first time I have ever seen your reactions to any songs but the Righteous brothers were amazing then and now nice to see young people enjoying the Righteous brothers as I did as a teenager , it was my parents era of music and it just made me feel great hearing those songs again and your reactions were awesome. Thank you.
I saw The Righteous Brother's in the 70's when I was a teenager, they were great I loved it!!! Great memories. Bill and Bobby were the best!!!! I'm in my 60's now and still look at the pictures I have of them!!!!!!
Bobby came in on the harmony in the middle...you could hear Bill say "C'mon over here Bobby ..and help me out...."
70âs music in which I grew up with, had no discernible race. There was music.
You just make me smile, thank you for keeping this music alive âŁïž
It's a remake of an old Muddy Waters blues song from the mid 1950s. In my opinion, its the best remake of a Muddy Waters song ever. And, being sixty-nine years old, I am sure I've heard them all.
If you're a musician, you either have soul or you don't. Doesn't matter who or what you are, and the Righteous Brothers had it. And you either appreciate it or you don't. So glad you found this one! Great reaction, thanks!
I understand what youâre saying. Color doesnât matter. Great music is exactly what it is, regardless of what color your skin color is.
Ignore the haters. There's just sooo many people with chips on their shoulders these days. People are unsettled and look for words to twist. You just keep on keepin onđyou got this and we got youââ€
NO WAY are you going to please 22,000 people. Do your thing. Someone is always going to find fault with whatever you say. I am a 76-year-old white guy and love your channel. Ignore the naysayers and gainsayers. If they don't like your reactions they can just unsubscribe. You will have two new ones for every sorehead that leaves!!! Don't hold back. Stay honest as you do now. They can go listen to some phony-baloney and leave you alone!!
Iâm 72 & you are exactly right. One thing we learn as we age is âyou do you, Iâll do me and weâll both be happy. Itâs just beyond me why people have to be so mean to each other.
Like I said, the fact you thought they were black because they sing with so much soul is a compliment to anyone
Yesssssâ€
Don't feel bad. You're right, color doesn't matter.
âBro, shut up.â LOL! Exactly.
I was a teen in the 60's and this is the first time I hear this song. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your reactions.
My mother told me the first time she heard Elvis Presley she thought he was black. Tell them to chill, no harm done. They are awesome!
Anyone who listens to any type of music like this and can't "FEEL" it....they have no soul and I feel sorry for them!! Lol P.S...don't worry about haters!! You're listening, learning, and it's not up to them how you interpret it. You can't make everyone happy....do you đđđđ
The most wonderful song lyrics that make you smile and just hope it's real is
Rock And Roll Heaven by Righteous Brothers.
(If there's a Rock and Roll Heaven, well you know they've got a hell of a band.)
About all the greats that have left us.
You're better off keeping a community of good people who are supportive of you and each other. Let the negativity go find another channel. I would rather get an honest reaction than be pandered to by someone who doesn't really feel it. Just keep doing it your way, honestly, and you will draw in the views.
I so agree with your comment surround yourself withpositively and love . Do you !
Amen.
"Blue-eyed soul". If you sing, you either got it in your soul or you don't. †And if you appreciate it and enjoy it, it doesn't matter who or where it comes from - you've got it, too.
Yepâ€
Black american blues is the single most influential music you will hear in all music past present and future! So many artists have been moved by the pioneers of the blues! It's absolutely so loved and embraced! It's effects are global!! Be proud young man! One of the greatest gifts the world could ever have!
Yesâ€
Blast from the Past. Stumbled on your video and kept watching your expression. This being your first time hearing them i was curious. Being slightly older, i know these old songs and i know they are white but i know they have got soul. Soul is in your hart and it has nothing to do with the colour of your skin (or age). Thank you, you kept me smiling for the best part of your video
Soul is just soul đ€·ââïž â€ïž these guys OMG
Music has no colour sweetie, soul comes from the heart â€â€â€
I love what i am seeing with this generation. I have been an R&B fan since the early 70's. Stevie Wonder All in love is fair and I was hooked ever since. I am 52 now and still loving it. You be you. I am not surprised someone lashed out and made a negative comment. The best way to conquer that type of feedback is to turn it up. Continue exploring the amazing universe of music. it is damn near infinite.
Can we just appreciate good music together.... they are amazing
That Face tho... I love the expression on your face when the music hits your DNA!đ§đ€đđđđđ€Ł. CLASSIK!!!
They were nicknamed by american airman the brothers . They were not brothers but had a hell a lot of soul.
Great reaction to the music I grew up with. Keep posting!
Thinking the Righteous Brothers were black is such a compliment to their soul vibe!
If EVERYONE thought color doesnât matter can you imagine what a great world this could be? I have loved these guys since I was little. FYI the sound is more BB King
These guys make beautiful music. they can sing any genre and make it sound beautiful. I also love your reaction to this and other soungs. Good work.
Yep
I love them, but never heard this song.
l didn't know they did this Muddy Waters classic either.
Working your way to my favorite reactor! Keep it up! Love it!
Being compared to James Brown can only be considered a compliment! Keep doing what youâre doing. Nothing but love.
Soul is from the inside, not the outside.
I love your energy and honesty! We the people who follow your channel know you're not racist in any way. Anyone who thinks otherwise can let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!
Luv your reactions, brother!
Dont worry bro. Many of us white folk get you, it, and OUR history.
Keep speaking your thoughts. I want your thoughts. Not others. Thats why we tune in.
đ€
I'm old enough to have heard this on the radio when it was top 40. "I" never realized that this was two white guys, or associated it with Unchained Melody or Lovin' Feeling until now. I knew the song, but when I was a kid I really didn't pay much attention to which group did any given song.
Soul has no colour . We feel what we feel !
When I saw your reaction to the other Righteous Brothers songs I found this one on Google and just thought it was really on fire.
Love your facial expressions, your are so into the music, you seem like a lovely young man, your momma must be so proud, from a 67 y old lady from south Africa đâ€ïžđ§đ
I love to see the surprise when young folks see them the first time, sweetie the truth is not racist at all.
I was in high school when they came out. They were awesome! I still pla their greatest hits CD in my car. Love these guys!!!â€ïžâ€ïž
The Righteous Brothers and early Hall and Oates(both duos in different eras)I guess you could say were an anomaly and were true fans of 1950âs and early 1960âs electric blues, soul, and rock and roll music. They were there when this kind of music(s) started to happen and couldnât help but being effected by it.
You are very expressive and more than some I have seen and though others too might like this and are, too, equally shocked by it I really love your reactions. I will also offer this...surprise, acknowledgement and the enjoyment of peoples talents no matter who they are is a good thing and as pure an honest as you can get. Thank you.
Who ever called you racist, maybe they have that problem, Everybody has soul, I'm 70 year old white man lived in the south all my life, you keep doing what you doing, Your good at it, And your soul is in great shape.
Soul .music is our inner emotions attached to our feelings and it applies to all people
Bill is the tall darkhaired one with the lower voice. Bobby is the blonde one, shorter and high voice. Thanks for this. Color shouldn't matter. So let's all stop letting it matter.đ
Music is a bridge, love and peace always
Another great reaction from you and you don't have to apologize to many of us here. We are on your wavelength and we get it. Even I thought the brothers were black when I first heard them years ago.
Soul is a feeling, it's in you no matter the color of your skin.
It's blue eyed soul.
LOVE THIS!! Tell the truth bro!đđđ
Great reaction!!! Great song.....
Soul has no color!! Great reaction!
I'm a 65 year old white male and I love watching your videos. It's obvious you love great music.
đ€
I'm so glad you say colour doesn't matter. Where music is concerned it really doesn't. We all make assumptions about things we don't know that doesn't make it racist.
Soul from the inside out not from outside in.
Keep up the good work. Don't let those haters get you down.đđ
You are great and you just keep doing what your doing!
You are great. I was there when the Righteous Brothers were around (Bill Medley & Bobby Hatfield), so no spring chick here, but no way can I sit stlill listening to them even now! Age is a number and until mines up Iâll ârockâ to these two.
I'm going to look for a live performance of that! Thank you, Twon. That was so great! đ
czcams.com/video/Iz9nq9hCp9c/video.html
Check out Bobby ripping his top in Summertime, Ebb Tide, My Prayer, You'll never walk alone,
Aw man...your statement was perfect...cause music has no color...if they can bring it then it don't matter the color!!!
Music is an art form and it's language onto itself. The arts break down cultural barriers. It's the best that we have. If you Feel the music, this is all that matters. I understood what you meant. Keep on!
It was called blue eyed soul for a reason little brother. Them two bring it.
Great song and I'm so tired of hearing about all that shit....This was a great song a great reaction and I can't wait to see what else you have coming!!!
Keep doing what you are doing, Sir. Music knows no color.
Bobby Hatfield sang background vocals, and if I am not mistaken Glen Campbell played guitar on this song.
You are so sweet and polite. Now you know that soul isn't a color.
It is a compliment to say they have so much soul. Nothing more real
Etta James does it best of all!!! â€ïžTennessee
I didn't know this was one of their songs. (I was born in 1966.) However, the beat is perfect for making love.
